That looks good to me since you are trying to be simple. Ultimately I would like separate responsibilities broken out and the ability to create user-defined roles based upon those responsibilities (in addition to the standard roles).
-
I can confirm that this happens for me as well (running 8.1).

menz, See this post:

Have you already tried logging into your Customer Portal, going to Additional Components and downloading the additional maps for map maker there?

I don't have NPM installed on C:\ either and it works fine for me. I would try to create the "Summary" folder in the "Resources" folder. I have a "Summary" and a "SummaryCharts" folder in there but no "SummaryReports" folder.

I am experiencing the same problem. I would like the see the change detection in Cirrus be a bit more intelligent. This would also help the formatting of "change notification" emails. I would like these emails to include context as to what changed. Telling me that "blank" changed to "description HOUSRV01" doesn't help me…

Another thing you can do is configure the snmp location for all of your devices to be Office A, Office B, etc. and then sort by location.

If you have Dell's OpenManage installed on the server you can acquire certain hardware info (i.e. memory, fan, power and temperature status).
-
You are looking for Admin->Views->Views by Device Type. Also, under each account you need to make sure that the "Node Details View" item is set to "By Device Type"

All of the above requests are good and I don't want to duplicate so I will just add a simple one. Ability in Syslog and Event view to create a query (filter) and save it so that I can just pick one from a drop down menu and don't have to specify my filters every time I want to see something different in those views.

This has already been answered here:

Comments? This is great work Gob! I really like it. It is a bit rough around the edges, but it is something that I am able to take and get working easily.

If you are looking at application level replication, Double-Take and Wansync are two applications that I have seen used for SQL database replication.
-
I also have this problem with utilization over 100%. Perhaps there could be a checkbox to enable this setting that would use the existing interface receive and transmit values and throw away any (or assume = 100%) when values that are greater are encountered.
-
No, there is currently no way to do that. Please see this thread:
-
Short answer: No Long answer: It isn't that NTA doesn't understand NBAR. It is that the the netflow protocol doesn't recognize/send NBAR information to NTA.
-
I agree with all of the above, especially #3. But I would also add: 1. Option for Cirrus to automatically reschedule config download (just for individual node) if node was down when normal nightly inventory/config download job takes place. 2. Ability (or scriptable way) for Cirrus to automatically update credentials for…

I recently experienced the exact same problem. The polling server lost connectivity with the SQL server and the front page came back up but I didn't realize that the polling had not resumed until the next morning. I wasn't sure if this was an isolated incident or not (obviously not). It doesn't seem like this used to…

I would like to see at least the same information for virtual switch interfaces that we can currently see with physical switch interfaces in Orion. Being able to identify the VMs that are the top bandwidth users would assist me in telling the Server Admins that the network is not the problem. We haven't experienced any…
-
I don't believe this is possible today, but I would like to see it become possible in the future. I would like to replicate the Orion database, however, having the Netflow data in the same database makes this quite difficult.

I have worked with the IDSM-2 in the past. Since it is CLI based, it should be supported. You should contact support for help creating a proper template to backup the config.

More examples: Cisco PIX cfwHardwareStatusTable 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.1.1 This provides failover information. cfwConnectionStatEntry 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2 This provides connection information.
-
A good example that would help me are all of the tables under the Cisco 6509 SlbMIBObjects OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1). These tables include: slbStatsTable 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.1.1 slbServerFarmTable 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.2.1 slbRealTable 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.3.1 slbVirtualServerTable 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.1…

I believe the polling frequency of custom mib pollers is the same as the Statistics Collection interval for each node.

Ok, the problem above seems to only happen in Firefox (v 3.0.3) not in IE. Another bug: When I am adding a node via the web and I get to the "Choose Resources" part, I can not click on any of the buttons on the "Select" row (Select: All None All Active Interfaces All Volumes All Interfaces). This happens only in Firefox (v…
-
What about using Orion to monitor volumes or interfaces on a server and alerting when the volume/interface is not UP (or is Unknown)?
-
I agree with the posts above. I would like to see a web interface for management rather than a Win32 client. Being able to add/remove nodes (and edit their properties when adding) and viewing reports via a web interface would be a good place to start as long as the rest of the management features follow. As a side note, I…

The correct steps to take after entering "truncate table flowstats" (disclaimer: will render flowstats data unrecoverable) is: 1. Confirm Read-Write radio button is selected. 2. Click refresh.

I am seeing the same bug.

Solarwinds - Did this feature, requested in January 2008 (and before), make it into Orion v10?
