Does Alert Central have the ability to integrate tightly with any of the major ITSM suites, such as Remedy? We already do this with Orion NPM to some degree by sending SMTP messages to Remedy which are then parsed to create incident tickets with data relavent to the issue. Can Alert Central do this in a more streamlined…

The process which I described can be done in about 3 minutes time and doing so will guarantee that all monitors in your software are added to this single alert. According to what you have stated, it would seem that this is precisely what you are trying to do. Just so you understand, what I described does not involve…

Restoring from the Backup file. Browse to the installation directory and locate "ipm9restore.exe" Run this and follow the on-screen instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE: When the backup file was created, it included sensitive credential hive information, this sensitive information includes all credentials that were created within…

If you are wanting to tie every monitor that you have to this single alert, the easist way to do this is to start by removing all of the monitors that are currently listed under that alert. Next, with no monitors listed there, click on "add monitors". When the window opens to allow you to select the monitors you…

Great Question Freeman, The answer to your question is yes! You see, IpMonitor performs scheduled tests against target nodes on fixed time cycles based on the present state of a given monitor. Once ipMonitor runs a test and receives a response from a target, it than waits patiently before performing that same test again.…

Thank you for the question. Event log monitors can be a bit tricky when it comes to sending notifications. The "trick" is in the "Notification Control" section of the monitor. Each time a test is run, ipMonitor takes note of the last log entry that it looked at in a log. During the next test cycle (300 seconds later, by…

Any update on this thread? I too would like to be able to display Universal Device Poller results on a Network Atlas Map. Related to this, and perhaps more important, I would like to be able to define status thresholds (Up, Warning, Down etc) on Custom pollers so that any node with a custom poller assigned to it would…

You can set refresh values by opening the "Configuration Tab">"My Settings" and look down at the "Display settings: Details view". From here you can change the "Refresh Delay" to the number of minutes that you desire. ("1" minute is the lowest possible setting) I hope this information was helpful to you.

Thanks for the Great Question freeman! We do have system requirements available in the Admin Guide and on our website. Here is a link to our web page that describes these things. http://www.solarwinds.com/products/ipmonitor/system_requirements.aspx As for bandwidth consumption, this is not a simple metric to calculate…

It's hard to say for sure why this is happening without a deep examination of your environment and the system it is running on. That being said, It would seem to me that your login session time is simply expiring (by design). However, that doesn't explain the problem you are having when trying to reconnect. I propose that…

Open the Alert in question and look down at the section called "Groups and Monitors to Alert for" Look for your Monitor in that list, if the monitor appears in that list, then it is tied to that alert. Additionally, a Monitor part of a Device or a Group which appears in that list, then any of those monitors will…

Which Version of ipMonitor are you currently using?

Thanks for the great question eskador. Unfortunately, the ADO monitor does not have the ability to return query results, it was not designed for this.

Great Question.... Ok, there are some basic settings that you probably already discovered located at the very bottom of the page when you went to the "Configuration" Tab > "System Settings". These settings are called "Optional Defaults". You can use these optional defaults to set common monitor parameters, things like…
