Just as an FYI, if you add the SQL variable ${VolumeSpaceAvailable} it reports with an indicator of G for gigabyte and a M for megabyte without doing the extra math query. Thanks to Scottd for the query on how to get the drive letter without the extra info, like serial number. Subject lines are much cleaner. Thanks a ton.…

You are 100% correct, I couldn't agree more. That's why a base template would be good and auto applied, like the drives and basic IIS services used. Hopefully we're not building web servers without drives and IIS installed That's why I also included that once we saw the server in the base web group we could then also…

1 - Cool. Good. B - You listed the variables in the email. You need to look under the Trigger Condition tab. Make sure 'Type of Property to Monitor' is APM: Hardware Sensor. (the very top drop down.) But since you listed your email variables, here are mine. I can't say where I got these variables, just know that I'm not a…

Yes. Say we have a weekly scan of an IP segment, and it finds 4 servers, 2 WEB, 1 MON, 1 IVR. So, APM pulls them in, sees that there are two new servers with 'WEB' in the name and pulls them into the group WEB. And because there is a template for that group, it would apply that template to the 2 new servers. So now all of…

I'll check and get back to you. Thanks for the help.

Two questions: A) Are the hardware components showing up on the Node Details page of the server? 2) In your alert manager, when you edit your alert, under the 'Trigger Condition', is the 'Type of Property to Monitor' 'APM: Hardware Sensor'?

All legitimate, we found a couple of bad power supplies and bad raid batteries. Very helpful. I'll open a ticket and post it here.

Thanks for the prompt response, hopefully this will get me to where I need to be. Hopefully in a future release will include the ability to create a dynamic query and then have a template automatically applied to the group. (for instance) For web servers, any server with the letters WEB in the name, will fall into the WEB…

We use exchange and do what 'byrona' suggested. All production alerts go to systemsalert@mycompany.com. In Exchange that email address points to who ever is on call's email address first.last@mycompany.com. Who ever is on call can just go in and add their email address to systemsalert and take out who's not. Of course, we…

Did you ever get a solution for this? This is something I'm currently facing. If the disk changes for what ever reason, and it's legit, how can I set up an alert to say hey, the disk is red now. Or, eliminate this all together. Either way really.

Here's my alert.

Must be my version, cause this is what I get: -----Original Message----- From: Network Performance Monitor Sent: Wednesday, October 24, 2012 2:18 PM To: *****.******@MyCompany.com Subject: TEST ALERT ${SQL:Select ServiceTag from APM_HardwareAlertData where NodeId = $@NodeId@}

That only works for me if my Trigger Condition Type of Property Monitor is one of the APM: Hardwares, but not if I change it to Volume.
