This one is a no-brainer for me. The hard part was figuring out WHICH story to tell! SAM (along with a plethora of other SolarWinds products) has made life easier on me and my colleagues in SO many ways. The story I'm most proud of is how we have used SAM, NPM and some custom scripts to build a dashboard for our Clinical…

I'm pretty sure I've answered everything, but could you please confirm? Thanks!
-
But the question wasn't available yesterday when I checked.

Got it fixed! Thanks for being so responsive!!

Thanks for this great post! I'm pretty excited to start using this, however, I get the following message when I try follow your instructions (using the updated credentials code): Get-SwisData : Invalid username or password. At line:1 char:13 + Get-SwisData <<<< $swis 'SELECT TOP 1 I.Status, I.DisplayName FROM IPAM.IPNode I…

I agree with garrethcoleman, although the NOC view is nice and definitely a step in the right direction ... those of us that have already created our own individual NOC views and cycle through them using a browser plugin (tab slideshow for FireFox) will have to recreate all of the views as tabs in a NOC view in order to…

I agree. I chose the one that was EXACTLY word-for-word and that turned out to be the wrong answer. I would either like an explanation as to why it is not the right answer or credit for answering it correctly.

Thanks Danielle … just found out that it’s a problem on our end. Working to fix it now (hopefully before the deadline on the bonus question!)

Here it is in all its glory ... standing desk (Varidesk) is the ONLY way to go because 'sitting is the new smoking'. If you look real close, you might see a couple SolarWinds related items...

Did anyone else notice that for Question 4, the first choice was called "Option 1" while the other options were percentage ranges?

Same thing for me. No answers to choose.

Anyone else get a blank, black box when trying to view the video? I've tried other SW videos and it seems that none of them work for me. It was not this way on the last question that had a video associated with it. I've also gone out and tested my flash player and it seems to play everything BUT SW videos. I'm tempted to…

Michal, I did try that but I still get the "Invalid username or password" message. I have tried using AD credentials for users that have access to Orion/IPAM, local user accounts within Orion, and finally as a last resort, the built-in Admin account in the Orion system. All result in the same error message. What am I…

Several years ago I worked for a fairly large software company in Bellevue, WA (no, not the one that is located in Redmond, WA) ... This particular day was like any other, I arrived early, did my normal routine, put out some fires and then went home. After dinner, my wife and I decided to go for a drive and take a walk…

Sounds good. Let me know if you need any additional information from me. Happy to help.

Pat…the probes connect to the box. The E4 allows for 4 probes. I did have to assign pollers to the device using the UDP. I have two cold aisles and two hot aisles configured.

Just curious if a fix has been released for this problem yet? I have the same error in the Top 10 Nodes by Percent Ports Used, however, I don't appear to have any nodes with no ports discovered. Thanks, Randy

Yep! This one worked for me.
-
Yes, the resource is titled “All User Log Ins”. When I refresh the whole page, it lists the first 15. This doesn’t change after I search….
-
Sure enough ... it worked when downloaded from a different computer. And ... they fixed the problems that I was experiencing in the last v3 RC!
-
Hmmm…I’ll download again from a different machine and see what happens. Thanks!

I’m not exactly sure why we purchased it since that is the one they were using when I started here. I can tell you that it supports the 4 probes that we use and that it integrated with our original monitoring tools which were not SolarWinds. It integrates perfectly into Orion using the Universal Device Poller.

Try this... Edit your report file in a text editor and at the top of the file, look for ModuleTitle="{bold grouping name}". Change the {bold grouping name} inside the quotes to whatever you want it to say and save the report. Go to the Orion Reports web location and verify that the grouping category has now changed. I have…

Tried both IE 10, Chrome and FireFox … same results. It just puts the little ‘X’ to clear the search but the results don’t change.
-
This is great! Thank you. It would be nice if there were a way to include processor count in the report without any custom SQL

Thanks Rob. I definitely am using JPS and PNGs that are <600x240 resolution. No joy.
