Hi Omair, I found that the built-in reports are also not of much use for us... We use the following report to get the serials from all our cisco devices/cards, it works for our 6500's as well! tell us if this worked for you! :)

Probably a bug, I have similar behaviour on my installation and have been told its a bug (I reported this as soon as v10 came out), unfortunately this isnt even fixed in the next version that is currently in beta... maybe in 10.2?

I think thats a great idea! +1 for this

Hi Rob, the hour you "lose" is because the database is so busy doing the maintenance that during this time the poller is unable to write new entries into the database. see this for a more permanent solution to database fragmentation (had to search through my old bookmarks):…

@leather: first of all, it would be best if you opened your own threads for your questions if they are not related to the original thread!Nonetheless, one possibility is to give those devices a custom property, e.g. "Purpose" then you write LAN or WAN or whatever in that property for those devices and filter your alert on…

yup, same here... didnt get to open a ticket for it yet though (so many bugs that you lose overview if you open too many tickets at once)...

you can already report on custompollers with a specific OID, cant you? Or am I just misunderstanding you?
-
mhh... sorry but if the cisco box reports wrong its not the NMSs fault, I recommend using an IOS where its fixed. we have some devices where the utilization sometimes is at 120% but its perfectly normal so how would the NMS know when to cap? and also if it just caps the value, what sense would that make? its altered data…

you just go to advanced alerts, create a custom poller alert where OID=<yourOIDofyourpoller> and CustomPoller.Status >threshold. e.g.:
-
which version of NPM are you using?
-
no, you can only have a link to automatically call remote desktop session to that device EDIT: Andy was faster :P
-
you cant graph custom reports... not with solarwinds products
-
you probably just have a normal advanced alert set up, I cannot think of a way to write into a file who and when acknowledged an alert without either having an alert action repeat all the time and keep writing to the file as there is no "trigger" for when an alert has been acknowledged. you could however write an advanced…
