i agree, I think many do but currently you would have to purchase the EOC and small orion licenses for that...
-
it means that only after the condition has been true for at least 5 seconds, the alert will trigger... not much sense in setting this for 5seconds though as it does not even poll one more time in this time-span.

1.) what exact info do you mean? there are some OIDs that are in RFC that apply to most devices... 2.) you can select how it looks like or even if you want to display it at all (you can just alert on it and not display it or only use it in report or reports that you imbed in your devices view) 3.) yes, those are examples,…
-
you could browse the mib for the reliability of an interface (if there is an entry), then you can create a custom poller and display it on nodes, report on it and/or alarm on it...
-
1.) yes, it will overwrite any discovered fields tho (and leave custom and comment field). if the IP disappears, it will go into transient and then available (if you didnt set the subnet or the specific IP to not scan). If you want it to stay in reserved state, just disable the scanning on that single IP or the whole…

Hi Jon, I am not sure which browser APM uses in the background but we use McAfee Webgateway and test the functionality with APM. We had an issue where APM was unable to pass the authentification but users were able to use the webgateway just fine (it turned out to be an issue with mcafee), therefore at least some things…

could really use those dynamic service level groups now... lol would make things easier for me, too bad I will still have to wait for this. more work for me :[
-
works fine for us as long as we don't disable the session timeout within the account settings (as the user does not need to re-login in that case).
-
1.) they will be counted towards the 'Used' status 2.) Yes you can. 3.) Yes, we also use "read-only" and "admin" access to IPAM
-
that depends on the kind of monitor... could be the response time or statistical value, unknown if the status cannot be analyzed (WMI on the server is down, etc.)
-
actually its quite easy... with NCM you can just create your own reports... just add the serial number... there is one pre-configured one (showing Chassis IDs/Serials) but you can just go ahead and customize your own report to fit your needs... if you would want to do it in NPM, you just create an universal device poller,…

maybe you can exagerate what exactly you mean? I am not sure what exactly you were saying... But let me try... In APM you can reset alerts, those alerts will however go off again then. What you want to do in APM is "Acknowledge Alerts" that way people can see who acknowledged the alert at what time, you can also set your…

well, there is the advanced sql alert in the advanced alert manager. you can try to create one there, unfortunately i dont think you can just paste it in there... you will probably need to edit the sql-database to edit the advanced sql alert to change the top of the alert query. only do this if you are very familiar with…

Hi, I have asked about this already as well. It is possible as it already is implemented into Kiwi CatTools, it is not currently implemented into Orion or Toolset. It has been requested by a few but I dont think it is planned for implementation yet.
-
you can edit the action (the one that sends the email) and in the tab "Alert Escalation" you can find options to repeat the alarm :)
-
you can set the interface to be "unpluggable" it will then not alert if this goes down.
-
are you even monitoring any nodes yet?
-
port number? could you give an example of what you mean? if you are talking about the port number of the website, that will change if you change the port number of the web server in IIS
-
unfortunately there isn't I have made a feature request for this and other user management issues... maybe you could chime in as well so the dev-team knows that its a wanted feature :)
-
Solarwinds strongly advised us against using vmware, which was our original plan (much easier and added redundancy) and told us that if we decide to put it on a vmware server, if solarwinds support thinks that it might be a vmware issue, no support will have to be given.
-
this is known and there is even a tutorial video to do this. all network nodes need to be discovered by network discovery to use this feature. Beware though as there are some bugs that detect wrong connections to the wrong ports, etc. I would double-check everything it connects
-
you should not use suppression... if you have entered node=unmanage, this means it will suppress the alert for as long as any node is unmanaged... try to build the condition into your trigger condition (trigger if node.status is not equal to Unmanaged) that should work the way you want it
-
it is possible with an advanced sql alert... however, why dont you just create a report which will be sent to you once a month where you can check this for all links?!?
-
haha... I accidentally clicked on last page... anyhow as this old post has not been answered by anyone... Orion does not include any SQL licenses, there is a "free" SQL for the server with a 4GB limit tho.

Well, leaving out products that are not yet finished / are not in the product line I think the audience or use-cases for the products seem clear enough to me... for those that are yet to come out I would give solarwinds the benefit of the doubt and assume that they would clarify things once stuff gets into the solarwinds…
-
yes, in NCM you can create a scheduled task to "purge" the config files to your desires :)
-
we've got cisco and would love to see native monitoring of routing protocols and STP, possibly integrating this into network atlas to show active paths... worth a shot ;) EDIT: woops, must've been tired when I read this... I thought this was related to normal switches... we actually use brocade fiber switches
-
you can use the ${IP} macro/variable if that is enough
-
with a custom sql alert you could compare the returned date/time to the current datetime of the database and alarm if it differs by more than 3hours and alarm on this, yes... you would need to get your dba to work on this though, if we had done this already I would share.
-
you can either create accounts which are not able to do anything but view things, that way they can browse around even or you can allow direct linking, meaning being able to view certain sites without having to log in (you would have to link directly to the charts then, this is explained in detail in the administrators…
