  • I think the authentication works fine (we have the same problem). It seems more like the settings are either not saved or the association to the user is incorrect. I heard dev might or might not ever fix this but dev will decide when or if this will be fixed, no further information can be given. basically, if not enough…
  • Hi, the problem solved itself for us, when trying to add the group several times, it finally worked for some reason... hope it stays that way but we still don't know why it initially didn't work!
  • We are also experiencing problems with AD groups... error message in the log file is that the group contains a null SID has anyone ever experienced this and fixed this?
  • Hi harrijs, have you really looked for the feature request forum? if you click on Forums, there is a Feature Request section, for the blind and lazy people here is a link: thwack.com/.../ ;-) just post a new thread and explain what feature you are requesting and why, try to deliver an explanation of one or more use case(s)…
  • I think its a great basic product... Beats the excel sheet for sure, a reasonable price makes this product good enough for me =) We purchased the IPAM4000 and it is the one module we havent had problems with (we dont expect much from it except for keeping track of used IPs anyhow)
  • Well, I have googled before but couldnt find anything useful. I have to add that I am not even familiar with Exchange 2007 but I introduced Orion into our company and received a request for this monitor as currently none of our monitoring systems are able to do this. I will take a look at the links next week and try to…
  • yes, it is available on the normal node details. if re-running the configuration wizard and integration module does not work you should contact support. EDIT: well this post doesnt make much sense anymore after the previous post has been edited :P
  • The best would be if you could set nodes into a maintenance mode where it would still collect statistics but those statistics would be marked that they were taken during maintenance. afterwards you would be able to report on overall availability or SLA availability!
  • @jasadell: the one in the config compare :P @iswan: all but the last regex-entryare already included in Orion I found another solution, I am downloading all running configs just before the config compare and in the config compare I compare "last downloaded config with last running config"
  • Hi, has anyone had a chance to take a look at this yet? I will gladly elaborate what we need and why we need it... NPM just doesn't offer this the way we want it but APM I believe only needs some minor changes to it... We now monitor UPS and CMC with this and if we could make traps trigger an update of a component and…
  • you just have to re-enter all the credentials in the credentials library as APM/NPM creates a key to decrypt those from the database, if you have a new installation, this installation cannot decrypt the passwords and you need to re-enter them or export and import your keys...
  • I think he ment that he created a custom poller which returns only the first value and created a web view for that.
  • Hi, I am not familiar with the free version but with the paid version you can create rules to filter for just one device or also just create a daily file for each device that is logging to the syslogserver! PS: if any of my posts answered your question, please verify them :) thank you
  • This should explain it: www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm e.g.: http://${IP}:${Port}/sub-page/login.aspx?user=roselyn&pass=orion If you were actually talking about sub-domains instead of sub-urls, you would need to enter the URL of the site if you want it to appear under the main node as the IP is usually different or the…
  • Hi, its the exact same report that I posted in the first link(except that I did not enter any filters). >IP Address Tracking Report< I tried several variations of "IPv4_Address = ${Node.IP}" in the SQL filter on the node details but they did not work. This would just be nice if you had it all on one page. You look at the…
  • unreachable is if a node that you defined as parent is down, therefore the child is considered unreachable and not down (to suppress multiple alerts). this also applies to some automatic parent/child connections, like when a node is down, the applications are unreachable. I would still like to know what Dormant, Testing,…
  • Hi Marie, thanks, my frustration isn't about this issue though, its a general frustration mixed with a bit of capitulation. We have had some issues for a very long time, some are being fixed and we are always being referred to new versions ("this should be addressed in the next version" which it sometimes is and sometimes…
  • I agree that basic/advanced monitors would be good on the database... there is a ton of stuff I am monitoring where I dont give a rats tail about the history of it... The Universal Device Poller has the option to not retain historic data.... thats kind of what I mean.
  • You will need to change "none" to "not all" as the logic is vice versa (bug) other than that you should be fine... it would alert on any nodes that are down, the nodename starts with corp and the nodename does not start with either corpa-kun, corpr-kun or corps-kun
  • mhh, never tried in the web interface... didnt even know you could... I did it on the server in the NCM program itself (version 5.5.2) EDIT: sorry, dont know why I said 9.5.1 before... :P
  • for now you can also use sql reporting features or if you use other reporting tools like crystal reports...
  • Hi omairn, have you ever run the inventory on those 6500s in NCM? it sounds more like you haven't or it has failed as otherwise it should appear in the reports! we also have 6500s and they show just fine in the report. If the 6500s still dont show up in the reports after you did an inventory you should contact support.
  • sure, I'll share the report here right after my meeting this morning, thought I did already :) EDIT: here you go:
  • how is your report set up? is it advanced sql? if so, post the source if its not, post a screenshot on monday. maybe someone can help you solve the problem
  • yea I currently use the log to file feature in orion but its very very very buggy... i still think solarwinds should just improve the existing syslog server in orion! like a feature to log both to database and to the same way kiwi keeps their syslogs... then set a retention to ~10days in orion and keep the files from…
  • no, that would also re-trigger the alert actions (even without doing any changes to the conditions)
  • yup but its not as convenient ;-) plus the helpdesk which doesnt have access to cisco devices could still look up where a user is connected to
  • Hi, I created a report you can use: if you open it in report writer you have a tab to filter data, the top condition does not have a checkmark, check it and change the text to something your interface would have as description and let the report run. another and in my view better alternative is to go to web view of that…
  • We have been complaining about this in NPM before (this works well in NPM 10.1 now, running the config wizard does not destroy our website anymore, a manual entry in the database saying that we use SSL now also fixed some links in e.g. pdf-reports, have not tested this with a new installation though)... We only use SSL and…
  • maybe something like 10nodes with a maximum history of 30days and limited to only local sql server database? of course having all modules for that, all limited would be very nice... IPAM for example with only on demand scanning and a maximum of 200IPs, IPSLA with only 5devices and a maximum of 20operations, Netflow for…
