Thanks. I appreciate the ideas. I'll have to consider some different options like yours since I cannot seem to add nodes to my new maintenance schedules in an automated fashion.

Upvoted. I'm not sure how this is not a feature from day one. I too would like to send a node name and other node custom properties in an alert triggered by an API poller. Otherwise it is everyone's best guess what entity triggered the API alert!?!

Nicely done!

I'm pretty new to SolarWinds and have started to experience the HTML alert email formatting struggles. I tried the quick fix and had formatting issues with the alert I have been experimenting with, which is basically one of the out of the box alerts for CPU monitoring. This problem might be what is standing in the way of…

Correct answer from 5/29 is not very accurate according to the documentation or the video link. Connect Hybrid Cloud Observability to SolarWinds Observability with Platform Connect
-
FYI if SolarWinds reads this, these links are broken on the "New" Feature Request form.
-
Thanks Thomas. I missed that note. I do see the option listed under the other nodes I've checked, other than SolarWinds servers.
-
Must be a persisting bug then. What version are you running? I'm on 2025.1.1 already and the option is still missing.
-
We're on 2024.4.1 now and have the same problem. It is only two nodes out of over four hundred for us but it is consistently the same two, consequently in the same location, that show "ERROR Start job timeout." I did recreate the job with the same results.
-
While the query does run if I do as you suggest my results go from 84 to hundreds of thousands which is not what I want. I want one result per LUN with highest latency last month with a timestamp.

thanks @"bmoline" . I implemented a scheduled purge this morning. It seems like something changed with WPM recently though; I suspect a new log file is not supposed to be created every time the player runs which is what it appears to be doing currently. I ran for years without issues but we filled the SEUM\Audit logs in…
-
Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention I'm on 2024.2.0 still. The issue just cropped up for me about a month ago for the first time and today for a second time.
-
I just had a second reoccurrence of the same issue you describe on the same APE. What version are you running? Support had me stop the WPM Player and rename the C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\SEUM\Audit folder to Audit.old. That fixed my failed transactions temporarily, but it seems like those audit logs will fill up and…

Thanks. That's great info!

I haven't tried yet. I was just researching the setup needed for the SAM template. Our PostgresSQL install is on a Windows box though.
-
The disk information comes from the iLO only now from what I can tell. Add SNMP polling of the server(s) iLO and you should see disk status.
-
Did you have any luck getting this SAM template to work? I was asked to monitor a PostgreSQL 15 instance but it seems like no one has gotten this to work in awhile.
-
Thanks @"sum_giais" . I appreciate the fresh set of eyes, I should have caught that. After a few additional permissions changes I have this alert action working now.
-
Support help me sort out the issue with the group claim. SWO didn't like the default groups claim name with URL, it needed to be overridden so the name is only groups or Groups. There is a success center article for the other cloud products with directions they sent me as well. Azure SSO Configuration for Pingdom, Loggly,…

I appreciate the link. I looked that over at one point but was unclear on what they mean in #2: 2. The group names setup in the Role Mapping Section is existing in your IDP and the email address should be mapped to the group name according to desired roles/permission.
-
Thanks. I wonder if ours being a fresh install makes a difference. I kept looking for that variable and was not able to find it but I had not checked the database for it.
-
Incase these variables are confirmed as removed I used this SWQL variable as a workaround. ${N=SWQL;M=SELECT TransactionStepId FROM Orion.SEUM.TransactionSteps WHERE TransactionID = ${N=SwisEntity;M=TransactionId}}
-
Awesome write up. Can someone confirm for me that by version 2023.2.0 all of the WPM Step variables have been removed? I do not see any of them listed any longer so this no longer works.

I was having trouble with this today as well. Posted several status updates and waited awhile with no luck verifying. Refreshed the mission page and checked again and bang, 1500 points!
