  • Torrie, I believe the refresh is written into the .ASP code for each type of web view. It's really not possible to turn it off, without affecting everyone else's web views refresh. However, if there is a single particular view type you link to with the directlink account, you could make a copy of the .ASP code for that…
  • I am on 10.4.2 and am having the same issue. I have 2 APE's and one is fine, while on the other queue keeps growing until it hits the 1Gig limit and stops writing to the DB. All Solarwinds services show up, but the data does not get written to the DB. What was the final solution for this?
  • PDF would be excellent. While I despise the bloated PDF format, it's certainly better than HTML in Outlook. If hyperlinks can be embedded, this would also work around the HIGHLY annoying Outlook behavior of modifying the URL in the emails sent from the Report Scheduler. Hey Bleearg, I am able to receive reports with…
  •  One workaround to this is using the export data function below a custom graph. Export the data to Excel & you can manipulate & graph the data there. You might want to setup macros if you are running the same report on a regular basis. I think I also mentioned using the percent utilization to compare data using the same Y…
  • Thanks for your help Pavel, I created this new resource, but it does not work. Unexpected Website Error The server block is not well formed. I am not an ASPX guru, so I can't tell where the problem lies with this script. The point I was also making was that we have lost some functionality in these new versions. A resource…
  • See my Sig file below for Orion specs.
  • OK, I have just finished testing with Advanced alerts in 8.5 Here is what I am trying to do: Create an alert for when simple nodes go down and up. Also suppress the simple nodes if an upstream device goes into down or warning state. I have created this one alert that does all of the above using the basic alerts and it…
  • Check your DB size. If your are using SQL2000 MSDE, you are limited to 2GB. Once you hit this limit, Orion will stop working.
  • I'd really like a conterminous service agreementI'm with you Don! I would like to see one consolidated annual bill for all the SW products we have. We have only one account but have every Orion component except NTA and more than a dozen Toolsets purchased over the years at various times, expiring every other month or so.…
  • Here are 2 examples of the CPU on a Cisco 6500 platform (Upgrade to 10.4.1 on Jan 26/27th): Last 30 days - every hour, fully loaded 6513 Chassis L2/L3: Last 30 days - every hour, 6509 L2 only:
  • Please see this post for details on how to access the MapToolTips page. Hopefully it works for you in V8.5.1, as it was broken in V8.1
  • I find the Solarwinds tool does not reliably stop the services, especially when they are in a hung state. Your best bet is to stop the Netperfmon service from the Windows Services GUI (right click My Computer > Manage my computer > Services) With a large Orion installation it can take a minute or two to for the service to…
  • The latest updates are in the right hand column on this page http://www.solarwinds.com/support/index.aspx Thanks Mark, I have the update now. I am currently running V9.0 SP2, but as per the readme, the update must be applied to V9.1 The customer portal shows only: SolarWinds-Orion-v9-SL2000.zip as available for download…
  • I rename the Zip file to include the version number, when prompted to save the download, but yes, it would be nice to be more specific with the download file name.
  • When charting pollers, it's specifically for the device, so you'll only see one at a time. For the summary chart, we do do an average, and there is a feature request in our system to give uses the ability to sum instead of just doing an average. Thanks Casey. However I am not charting a specific device (node), but rather a…
  • OK, I finally got around to checking why enable and configure access is required to poll the Cisco VGs using the CLI. This makes no sense whatsoever and is a huge security risk. Checking on my Cisco Tacacs server I see the following commands being run when gathering stats from the VG's every 5 minutes: terminal length 0…
  • Have you tried the Firebug add-on for Firefox? It's a great troubleshooting tool for issues like this.
  • Machine Type EMC Corp Description Product: EMC Celerra File Server Project: SNAS Version: T5.5.28.105 Node OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.1139 Vendor Unknown
  • Thanks Mark! So basically the best thing to do would be to download the software when it becomes available & store it somewhere safe, in case you need it at a later date. -=Cheers=-
  • Has anyone managed to get this working? LDAP is considered a core service which many applications rely on. We've had several application outages which may have been related to LDAP being down. With this monitor, we could prove the root cause to upper management.
  • Our Cisco Nexus 6000 switches show up as "Wireless" devices in NPM 10.4.1
  • yes, it was a much need addition to NCM, but this featue does not honor any search filters applied to the report. It will export the whole enchilada, even if it's several hundred pages long. Kind of frustrating when you just want a few lines of data....
  • Please see this post for my upgrade experiences. So after using this for a week, here are my thoughts: * Compared to V7.8, the performance of the web site seems to be a bit snappier. * If you have any older devices that are not SNMPV2 capable, you will need to revisit each one & change the poller to V1 (all nodes are set…
  • <Edit> I just found this more detailed view in the CSZ which includes manage/unmanage times as well. Add the following filter to your down nodes view: Status <> 9 Create a new resource view for only unmanaged devices in your 1-1-SummaryReports directory: (note this includes my CP called 'Comments')…
  • This may be an issue with the ICMP packet size. Some devices will not respond to packets larger than a certain size. You can decrease the Orion ICMP polling packet size as per this post.
  • Bump.... It's been almost 2 years now. Any word on this feature request?
  •  Have a look at this post - http://www.thwack.com You will see the telnet, http & rdp links & icons in this same file , right above the code I posted. [the resource.asp file in the ...\Inetpub\SolarWinds\NetPerfMon\Scripts] My bad, I assumed the link code was part of the graph toolbar, but it actually displays above it. As…
  •  Thanks Vic. Moving the poller to a newer box with Win2k3 SP2 installed did not improve the SNMP data polling. The System Manager is still sluggish and lagging on the new server, and the gaps are still there :-( It might be time to look at moving the polling server out of my Data Center, 1500 miles to the West, so it can…
  • I agree that all the features listed would greatly improve the functionality of this tool. My number one request is: - F) Approved Requests to be executed at specified date/time (vs. at the time of approval, today) ...as per this post here. Once the request is approved, then the requester should be able to apply the change…
  • I'm running 8.1 as well & and am having problems. I believe they might be related to permissions when installing the app. * Mapmaker takes 10 minutes to load (yes I've applied all the hotfixes) * Huge gaps in SNMP data, only from my secondary poller (CPU is just idling on this server) * Map Tooltips do not work (you can…
