Thanks, Dragoon231, good idea and I think I will do just that. When I posed the question I had not worked with setting up alerts for some time, also we had just upgraded several revs. So the question could have been a bit confusing! Anyway thanks for your comment.

Thanks for the answer, Richard. My Linux sysadmin still wants to try to see if we can get NPM to do this, via the Linux/Unix script component. I got reminded that I had said SW could monitor these OS's, when I made a pitch to upgrade to the newest version. So I guess I better try to make it work. I'll check out SAM,…
