Hi, When we migrated an installation to a new server we also made sure to copy the following under the Orion Folder: Reports; Maps. We were on v 9 already so wasnt changing versions straight away. (only a sp) If you are able to make a second copy of your existing database which is what we did you could then build your new…

Denny, Unless im mistaken it looks like this is a script that that runs on the target server rather than on the orion server. Is this right. Miron

smc... I like that extra bit you added regarding the Dynamic UNDP Pollers would be a great addition. :-) Miron

Denny, My apologies to custom properties and the families of custom properties and any finanical implication that custom properties may incur from having to restore the publics good faith in them. My bad:-) Miron

Yann, How can you confirm the version and sp of APM as I am not seeing those options as you discribe. Regards Miron

Hi, I havent seen anything improve in the inbuilt sw functionality that would allow this. Appears it is not on SW priority list. Miron

Hi, I would have liked to see some development into the following few items among others. Network Atlas: * Being able to resize labels/text boxes * Position Securing of Labels/text boxes which dont move when other objects are added * Ability to insert a table * Automatic addition/population of table by possible object…

Yann, Is the new version meant to give granular access rights to map maker? Miron
-
Denny, thanks for letting me know. Following on from that what are the mimimum rights the user should have to connect and view the WMI statistics. Regards Miron

Hi, Excuse my ignorance but surely if you can get a script in nagios that can query any webpage and determine the expiry date on the certificate shouldnt this be achievable within Solarwinds APM without having dependances on external servers or the target web servers meeting some requirements. I am keen to understand why…

Hey Mate, I also get this problem, to which I have not received any resolutions as yet.

Hi, Thanks for the response, useful tools that I can think of would be tools similar to watchit, trace route and latency tools, the gauges and arp watch are some of the things we use quite regularly. Regards Miron

Hi, If you use the following in your email subject: ${MESSAGETYPE} from ${IP} then you will get the type of message, but as you say host name mapping that is within NPM is not referenced and therefore is shown as the IP address. Miron

John, I agree, we do the same things and add in items like SLA time, supplier, circuit reference, account manager, support number etc or any other details for any of the support staff who need to query service with any telco providers. Regards Miron

Remote Desktop. I do remember reading a forum post about isses with RD. Didnt think it would apply for a basic white background. Miron

Hi, Thanks i worked it out eventually. 5 min crash course in SQL.. Regards Miron

Davor, If you mean does the device that Solarwinds queries with SNMP log the fact that it was polled by a SNMP management station then it depends really on the type of device and type of logging available. On cisco devices you can set the device to log snmp activity to console , buffered , syslog. HOpe this is what you…

Hi, Im not sure if you are aware but the products which seem to be appropriate given the contents of your post would be the solarwinds engineers toolsets. Regards Miron

Hi, While I am not a Perl guru I believe the APM uses WSH/WScript to intialise the perl script. This appears to cause issues when the perl script addresses external objects or libraries. The following is an excerpt from when i tried to get to the bottom of the problem(which i never did - didnt seem to be many people that…

Hi, As a rather expensive workaround is to use an SSL Offloader. We currently used F5 BIG as the front end to at least offer some protection in the absence of alternate authentication system. Probably best longer term anyway as all our webserver that use SSL would be offloaded to dedicated appliances although the…

Hi Mate, Can you confirm are you trying have the InterfaceDetails.aspx resource display information and statistics about two interfaces. How would you intend to navigate to it from the router, given that if viewing the node details of the relevant router you would be able to view the two interfaces separately and drill…
-
Hi, This is definitely possible. You can create a custom view that only includes the map of your choice as the only resource. Small issue is that you will still have the SW management bar along the top which im sure you will want to get rid of. Im sure that colleauges on this site have a way of getting round that issue…

Hi, First - Create your lower more detailed map either for each country. Add all the nodes to the relevant maps. You will then have maps in your left hand pane of map maker called for eg CountryA and CountryB Second - Start a new map and Drag the Country A and B Maps from the lef hand pane of map maker to the new map.…

Hi, We have a combined a nagios view into the portal. We also tried to give the appearance of a table on the right which breaks down into various elements. Unfortunatley we would add more this however because it was only possible to create this "table" using lables and text boxes in pre-network atlas, we will have to wait…

Hi, Interesting havent actually checked to see if that occurs in my reports. If I had to assume potentially the problem comes with the aggregation of data over time? Regards Miron

Hi, I get similar issues on mine , in that if I have selected to unmanage it does not always take effect, or if I want to remanage i select it and it stays in a pergatory state of still showing the remanage button and not allowing to unmanage but looking like it it managed with no icon change Miron

Hi, I know this might not be the answer your looking for but surely you would want whatever meets the requirements of viewers. :-) Miron

Hi, We show our FWSM as separate devices to the 6500. Because there logical vlan interface for the connection between the FWSM and the 6500 this is what we use to represent the relation. Problem is almost that the FWSM is a devices which is managed not from the 6500 itself . A device within a device. Sorry couldnt offer…

Hey mate, Welcome as a SW user. At the moment if you are monitoring switch ports and one of them goes down it is not possible for NPM to keep the switch icon green. This would be a great feature in the future, if it was extended so that you could configure switch ports into groups for instance user ports and trunk ports.…

Hey mate, All the maps you create in map maker are "real time" according to the polling interval for your devices. We group devices into sub maps to create a tiered view. The view attached shows the high level. All the boxes represent sites with devices in them. The actual icons are the actual core or distribution devices.…
