Was any progress made on this issue?

Saved me a lot of headache...thanks Mr. Lapoint your workaround is really helpfull & thanks scaviness for starting this thread

Can anyone confirms this works? & would I need to shut down the NPM services before doing this?

I would also like to know if this was implemented since 2009. Currently I have Alert Trigger Time: ${AlertTriggerTime} & ${ShortTime} to show when the alert was triggered & reset. However, If I have a delay on the Reset Timer I believe that the actual time the alarm was reset would be displayed incorrectly by ${ShortTime}.…

The issue in the thread you referred me to is a different issue, it was about the PDF export not working at all. In my case a PDF is generated, it's just basically showing the wrong information.

I'm running: SolarWinds Orion Core 2010.1.0 SP1, APM 3.5, NPM 10.0.0 SP1, NTA 3.7

Another option is to trigger alerts from Syslog messages generated from the switches when ports go into err-disable. It works well for me.

I'm having a similar problem, but in my case I created the alarms after the upgrade & they were working fine for a while then they just stopped all of a sudden. Actually only the alarms that were based on bandwidth stopped, all the other alarms were working fine (Interface down, Node down etc.) I re-created them from…

I've just tried this & works great. However, I noticed that LastSystemUpTimePollUtc only returns values for SNMP nodes. I'd like to get the same results for my ICMP nodes, is there a "Last Ping Response" field anywhere in the Database?

aLTeReGo u r the BOSS!!!... I actually had the installation files on the server, just didn't remember downloading them. The unmanage scheduler combined with the windows' Scheduled Tasks meets all my requirements. It's good but it could be great if you could have an interface where u could just click the date & time for…

I'm seeing this same issue & i'm currently using NPM 10. Every once in a while i get alerts that interfaces are down & they have previously been down for weeks. Next time it happens i'm planning to open a support ticket.

Hey MarieB, I know your trying to help but i'm lost @ step #5 too :(

Thanks for this gbutler, simply solutions are always the best. The only drawback is getting more than 1 graph to be sent.

What's even weirder is that the event log shows that the ports are back online & yet when I check the node details page It is saying the port is operationally down...

As far as the individual configurations go I noticed that on your 3/5 interface you have ip flow egress configured in addition to ip flow ingress. Also I see where you are exporting Netflow version 5, if memory serves me correct i've read where Netflow version 5 doesn't support egress traffic.

Thanks to the quick response of the Solarwinds support team this problem is now solved. The issue was that I had an old version of the Solarwinds License manager (1.0.0.38 ) which was not detecting the new Netflow product. Once I downloaded version (2.0.0.430) the products were detected & the upgrade option was now…

I'm having the same issue with syslog. I go into syslog and filter based on a specific node, I see exactly what I want on the screen, yet when I try to export to PDF I just get all the syslog messages. The only thing that it seems to adjust to is the number of syslog messages that are displayed, anything else is ignored.…

I was actually searching for this setting and never found it, it would be a good to have this option, is it being considered as a feature request?

Thumbs all the way up...great post.

I can confirm that once NPM is running correctly adjusted bandwidth statements on Cisco routers are detected at the next Rediscover interval. Have seen it work as recently as this morning. Bandwidth statement was adjusted at approx. 9:48am interface bandwidth was updated automatically in NPM at 11:05, rediscovery interval…

*Scratches head @ "We use MS SQL Server for Orion, which does not support SNMPv3."* Correct me if i'm misunderstanding but SNMPv3 works fine for me & i'm using 3750's as well as other switches. See below my attempt at explaining the necessary configuration. snmp-server group *insert name of group* v3 auth read *insert read…

This post is pretty old, but for the benefit of anyone else that might come across this issue, a simple solution would be to Unmanage all ur nodes using node management. It gives you the option to set a timer at the end of which monitoring will automatically resume. I kno this is available in NPM 10 not sure about any…

I'm having a similar issue, where I'm trying to monitor a Customer device, using ICMP only. I went a step further to create an account on DynDNS.com and associating the IP address to a domain name to overcome the dynmaic IP address issue, as the device is set up to recieve IP address dynamically using DHCP. I added the…

This is the perfect solution to my problem of missing stats collection during maintenance windows...the unmanage function is ok but didn't fully achieve what I needed... I truly appreciate this post, it is a concise explanation of a simple solution to a complex problem. I'm already anticipating your upcoming posts.
