  • None here, man...but I bet you could guess I would be on board. So what's the next step assuming ecornwell and others answer in the affirmative? Will we see it in a SP or is this a configurable change we can affect ourselves? Thanks for the accessibility to you and your team through the forums.
  • DArnett, the Regex Patterns I used were the ones Chris LaPoint provided early on in this thread: "For those of you still experiencing this issue, please try adding the following lines to your comparison exclusion criteria. If these work for you, please let us know by posting a 'yeehaw!' in your response. Ignoring crypto…
  • Is there any way to force the cache to refresh?
  • Chris, Here's the deal... I'm attempting to schedule a monthly job for startup-config backups, and a nightly job for running-configs. I had expected the dashboard to light up every morning if any configs had changed. You're indicated I will have this, yet in testing I wasn't observing the changes immediately as i expected.…
  • Problem still exists here too; but it seems to be tied to another problem with truncated startup configs. All startup v running configs in my installation compare fine after adding the RegEx patterns provided previously in this thread. I have more than a few nodes, however, that exhibit what you describe above, but upon…
  • Very valuable info. I may have to rework my design for exception reporting then as I'd almost have to baseline nightly to get accurate readings....not gonna happen.
  • I read in another indirectly related thread that the graphs don't consider the comparison criteria when generating the startup v running config graph. Is this true? if so, how do we overcome the challenges of the startup configs including items that running configs do not? (e.g. ASA's asdm location lines within a startup…
  • Bump. Has a startup v running config report been created yet? -OR- Ist here an easy way to set the last startup config as the baseline? This way the baseline v running on the NCM website woudl show me what I need. thanks, -Jr.
  • This may be the case. Do you (or does anyone) know if the web engine looks for both running and baseline configs in the timeframe or if it compares running configs within the timeframe to the last baseline for the node regardless of the comparison criteria (i.e. timeline) We keep all configs for 180 days, not just diffs;…
  • I'm already looking at "today" as the filter for the baseline v running graph. It still hasn't cought up properly. The job has run every night now since last week, the WebUI graph is still showing about 40% conflicts.
  • Thanks Sham. The job will run again tonight, so I'll report back tomorrow on the status of the cache.
  • got it....thanks. I learned something today.
  • thanks David. I think I have what I need for our DBAs. the changes made to netflow from 3.x to 3.1-SP1 has really improved reliability and performance of both Orion and it's Netflow analyzer. thanks, again. -Jr.
  • "%systemroot%\schedlgu.txt" is this a typo? I cannot find a log by this name on the server in question.
  • Yeehaw!....sort of. Thanks Chris. The exclusion criteria worked within the NCM UI comparing the latest downloaded running config to the latest baseline (startup) ignoring the certificate info as expected. BUT...the node's I've tested against are still listed in the NCM Web-UI as conflicting.
  • Thanks that does help! So should everything have moved to the new filegroups because my old primary filegroup still has tables in it. Are these no longer needed or should they be relocated to one of the new filegroups? Here is a listing of some (not all) the tables and their filegroups. table_name filegroup…
  •  Ok, then I'm dumber than I think, because I can't find anywhere in the CIDR functions of the subnet calc, where I can enter mask of 255.224.0.15. All the masks are preconfigured. Take a second look please, yes, the mask I'm asking about is not a classfull nor CIDR mask. It's something else entirely. This would allow me to…
  • Follow-up: I have an active case open with Support. The proposed workaround is to lower the simultaneous upload/download to "1". i tried this last night and was sucessfull in backing up all configs in the database (excpet the three devices offline for maintenence.) so This effectively eliminated the timeouts I've been…
  • ryanflud, did you manually set all your startup configs to the baseline or is there an easy way to set the last startup config as the baseline that I'm missing? thanks -jr.
  • There's some discussion in another thread regarding behavior of the NCM dashboard graphs, specifically the startup v. running config graph. That maybe what you need to, fredfalcon.
  • I too have the same issue adn use TACACS for authentication. I have problems even attempting to download interactively if the number of target nodes exceeds the maximum number of simultaneous downloads. The greater the difference between these two variables (targets v maximum) the more devices timeout. I am currently set…
  • Not exactly Noob, but I don't know of any way to automate this. I too would like to schedule a monthly baseline task that downloads the startup config and marks it as a baseline. You can open a support ticket with SW to see if the feature is hidden somewhere. Welcome to the forums. The more we participate, the better it…
  •  How about a Tab in the Subnet calculator for wild-card masking and free-form mask calculations? I'm having to isolate addresses more and more for security concerns across discontiguous subnets. it would be nice to be able to enter, say: 10.32.0.11 with a mask of 255.224.0.15 and have it tell me what IP addresses match…
  • This is an old thread, but the answer to this specific question is not here. Can you suppress an alert on node(s) by tracking the interface status on an upstream device? If so, How? I have advanced alerts configured correctly, except the upstream node has to be down to suppress the hundreds of alerts for devices behind it.…
