Apologies. I didnt realize this was in the ipmonitor section. My question, below, is in regards to NPM and using alert manager to alert on low toner. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I have set a UDP up but I dont understand how to alert off of one varible and to show the toner level as a…

Sorry, I was simply using Monitor.Status as an example of the kind of data I am looking for. I need components that start with a certain name and where the component is not running (The process is not running on a particular PC. Jim

Close. =) I have been there. The thresholds only monitor for CPU, Physical Memory, and Virtual Memory; and I DO want to monitor those things. However I want it to ignore up/down status for this one particular component. Jim

I've noticed this on Chrome and Firefox, and maybe even IE as well. I am not sure what the cause is but I know atleast on one occasion I hit the F5 key and they appeared.

Yes. So for each dependency you click "new", then there is a click to get to the Cisco gear, then a search within the Cisco gear for the parent, then submit, then the same process for finding the child. That is an awful lot of clicks and time to set up one dependency. So if you have upwards of 300 routers with roughly 500…

Thanks very much. That is what I needed.

Very intensive but I guess I would rather do that than make it tough to find. Thanks so much. Jim

I am trying to filter by the component name and status of <> 1 so that the troubled components rise to the top of a top ten list. I am using "Monitor.Name like 'name.%' and Monitor.Status <> 1". The user does not want a dashboard using the Application Tree because as a dashboard the helpdesk looking at it cannot expand…

Well, that is very similar to how I created mine. Would it be possible to show me your text (varibles) that you are sending when it triggers? Maybe I am just using the wrong varibles. I really appreciate your quick response and help Jim

That is what I was afraid of, but I was told to ask. I appreciate the both of you guys working through this with me. Jim

I am not speaking of groups in that sense. If you go to APM and edit an application, it shows the items or components (that make up that application). Most of those items I want know up/down status but one of them I just want CPU and memory monitoring.

That would explain why it isnt consistent. Thanks for that. I'll give it a shot. Jim

For example. I have availability reports but this section shows up in custom AND node reports. There are other reports that I feel should be grouped together that are in two or three different sections.

You could create a map with you two DUN devices on it. Then on the other map put your cloud and associate it with the first map. Tell it to include child status. If either of the DUN devices drop then it should turn your cloud yellow or red.. depending on your settings. Jim

I would love to see this added too. Many of our nodes 300+ have been added manually using the loopback address. Now were are wanting to also use Network Discovery by the ethernet networks address so that we get switches, servers, clients etc also and so that when we build maps they are associated. However, if I do that…
