Now I have to be sure and watch the credits....

Don't go running over "speedbump the armadillo"... I will say they are no fun on a motorcycle at 45mph....took me 2 weeks to finish getting the gunk off.

Another excellent episode of "Thwack Opera" !!

Remarks to ACL statements are similar to comments in code...be descriptive and make them 3AM friendly. Don't assume that everybody that is going to look at them is going to understand your intent or a underlying reason something is set up a particular way.

That is the purpose of this request. Retain important data for reporting and offload the load from the production/active database to improve Orion performance. A seriously needed requirement for larger shops where database size is an issue and support can't resolve your issue.

The fun part about IT is that the only true normal is change.

Kind of like a gravity well but rather a geek well ?

Down to the wire but I got it. There were some good hints in there.

Shops I have worked at have used everything from excel spreadsheets to a database based app (5000+ stores in addition to the local network) to infoblox to AD. I think the biggest problem with any of them is keeping it current and up to date with any environment that has some amount of dynamic change and/or growth.

yes, some of the water ways being used supposedly have raw sewage in them.

I wish my trip had been a vacation....

Bring it on !! F5's are becoming a huge part of our infrastructure.

not so sure about the free training...they still pay for a portion of it through their payroll taxes. They still have to buy their uniforms, granted they may get an allowance towards the cost.

We have a custom property for PROD, DEV, QA type of systems and some alerts are based upon that. To work around this we essentially added another possible value to put that node into a holding pattern. No alerts but we still gather statistical data. This is great for new nodes that are not ready for primetime or a…

Yep...in a shop with a dedicated monitoring and notification team we touch everything. Think of a hub and spoke environment. We are the hub and everything else feeds up to us.

followup bump !!

maybe, but then it becomes an A la Carte menu for features and attributes because someone will pay to have the smartest, strongest, quickest kid bioengineered to exceed. The rich can afford it and the general populace is stuck with what nature doles out.

last question answered...just waiting for the results. Good Luck to All !!

That applies to my alternate life as a firefighter as well.

Depends on your perspective....someone will come along a spout DB is the king or CPU is the king or even memory. It all depends on who has the marketing spin or statistics to prove a particular point. SDN may be king for a second until someone reconfigures it....then it is lower than a pawn because it fell down and money…

I guess I am old school...never really had an IDE to work with. I will check into on the ones listed for perl...that would likely get the most use. Great topic this week. Gives me something else to look at that I need to make time to investigate.

One of my favorite I use all the time.. Resistance is Futile, You will be monitored.

I believe it is rather point of view or perspective issue here. It is not always a literal quote. Sometimes digging too deeply into link on a hint page may get you beyond where it was anticipated you would go.

exactly....until IT seagulls start circling around.

We are also more new than old. cahunt pretty much sums it up for us here as well.

I believe only 3 of the blades actually had vm's running on them according to the info provided by the popup's when you hovered over the blade name. Chassis 6 blade-1, 0 of 0 vms running Chassis 6 blade-2, 5 of 5 vms running Chassis 6 blade-4, 10 of 11 vms running None of the other "up" blades had any mention of vm's.
