I am sure it is a little easier to build 2 mini missions for a month than one big one. It also allows for more exposure to more products and product updates. Not to mention gives people more chances to get one of the great prizes being offered.

I'm in a the same boat...literally in a closet and my chair does not have wheels either !!

Ahhhh...you guessed part of my gameplan.

I hope the retention period on these cookies isn't crazy like some site that set them to expire in 2099 or 3035. That could either become uncomfortable (like the MREs - Meals Refuse Exit) or they may have a shelf life that resembles the twinkie. Heck in most cases anything over 2 years is a waste.

Why a difficult-to-operate box is in the interest of Cisco ? If it was easy then anybody could do it and then what would we be doing ?
-
Excellent. I look forward to seeing your Friday articles next month.

ecklerwr1, I hadn't been watching points/thwack store in awhile.... Hmmm, wouldn't that be too cool to have two fridges on the desk...one for each hand ? At least that way the symmetry OCD wouldn't be as challenged.

Probably need to add a protein bar or three or even beef jerky for each day so that you have a constant supply of calories and not dependent on carb enriched meals or the glucose rollercoaster.

It is used a lot in other industries...public water systems, oil and gas industry, hydrologic monitoring (river and lake levels), national weather service (monitoring of various sites for temp, wind, humidity, etc.) and so on. NASA uses it extensively on space missions.

mfmahler, thank you for this informative series. There will always be attacks on the infrastructure and application side...but the user attacks are likely the most fruitful for the attacker. Most people aren't diligent or have the "it won't happen to me" attutude...or in many cases just don't know any better hence the…

Like the Black Hats...should have had a more greyed Solarwinds logo, but just my opinion. Photobombs by Dez are always welcome and should be mandatory!!

Congrats mbessey !!

Thanks brandoncarroll ! I will look to see about following a few of those suggestions.

likely true...but then she has never seen a droid or gotten mad at one for losing a game to it either....

And the hardest lesson...rotating machinery has momentum, sometimes a lot of it. Even if you hit the power switch right away, it still has to spin down...while continuing to pull you in. The faster and heavier(mass) the parts in motion, the longer it takes to come to a stop. So even if the part in question is moving…

To call Runtime application architecture discovery a substantial undertaking is an understatement. Encrypted data paths (https, vpn, etc.) and encrypted packets prevent many tools from being able to determine the architecture and unable monitor the resulting environment. This become increasingly more complex in a…

And a great year it was ! My thanks to everyone at Solarwinds on a great year....
-
they may have a seasonal availability clause... My question is, what if they send the wrong pizza ? How do you return it ? They can't blame the driver.... Wind is a concern....not to mention rain.

Humpday Bump !

Just think if all the critical infrastructure were to shut down...or be made to run at a rate that it self destructed. It would shut everything down...no electricity, no water, no gas, no refrigeration, nothing. How do you tool up to rebuild critical infrastructure (new electric generation plants) without the power to run…

Well it's nice to know there are more deadheads on here. Saw them in concert twice. Had a friend who would follow the tour during the summer.

Hmm, sort inbox ?

automation grown in house tends to be a better point solution and purpose built to achieve specific goals. It likely does not have the fluff of say a suite of tools... Now support, patching, and testing for vulnerabilities now fall on you.
