Ah...ladder class. It's an 8 hour day on types of ladders, uses, deployment, moving, inspecting, etc.

considering the average end user...they won't follow the specific instructions...they'll get the Best Buy Geek Squad to install it with the bare minimum effort to do so.

smoked bacon wrapped beef brisket. The challenge being you don't trim the brisket before smoking and you smoke it with the fat cap up.

that might be what they are hinting at...

Don't forget fragmentation can play a part here as well. You may have a GB or more "free", but is it contiguous enough to provide the next extent or blocks needed ? Dedup and compression help quite a bit..but there is a case for defrag as well.

another reason I get to work before the masses...so I have a couple of hours to handle details of this sort without interruption. The only remaining constraint is whether I have achieved my minimum daily requirements of caffeine.

First workday of 2020 bump! I think it is funny Orion has cloud based monitoring for data warehouses and with all the different pieces that bolt in doesn't support it internally for those that could really use it. #bumpsquad

There are but a few (to be counted on 1 hand) kids that graduate each high school that are likely to be able to make that decision point...and fewer still that stick with that decision...

I had that in my front yard this morning...and I'm here in Texas. Puppies had fun trying to figure out what snow was last night.

that is what a former team I was on referred to as the "Waller effect". We has a person whose lastname was Waller make a undocumented change to the remedy ticketing environment on a Friday afternoon and then go on vacation where he had no phone contact. It broke the ticketing system and no one knew what changed to back it…

Hmm, the FAQ on the specified hint page specifically lists a database by full name that matches one of the choices in the question but it is apparently not quite right.

speaking of earbuds, I have been stuck with them for the last 7 weeks since my Sennheisers are at the office with my headphone tube amp. At least the AKG's that came with my samsung S8+ aren't horrible. It'll be at least 5 more weeks before I can get back to the Sennheisers and good tube warmed over audio while I work. i…

Use the Splunk pricing model, tell them that will cost them $xxx, xxx dollars to keep that much data that long. That may change their tune by linking a quantity of data/time period with real money.

Interesting take on this.... While most shops have monitoring implemented, not all shops are fully integrated or have "bought-in" on the practice. Many shops are plagued by the "I don't want you watching my stuff because I don't want my groups issues to be known" mentality. There you will find sabotage to the monitorings…

agreed but there are those that think otherwise.

Actually being a student is (and should be) a daily activity. If you are not learning something new everyday you are stagnating.

cahunt, don't know. That is above my paygrade. I'm just the messenger.

Ahh....there is a known issue that DanielleH is working on....that this may be the case.

Agreed...but some of the surface mount stuff these days practically requires a microscope to work on...at least a good magnifying glass.

Congrats bpfrombp !!

Excellent kong.yang, I hope to watch it here in a couple of hours.

I had an opportunity to solve the mystery as to why our core switch at a prior job site died when one power supply "accidently" had it power removed when it had redundant power supplies for fault tolerance.. Using SNMP I was able to determine the model's of the power supplies in the chassis. We compared them to what was…
