From personal experience... So far the HP/HPE thing is working at least for us, so far. At least one of the companies likes to spam and not honor opt-out requests as well as cease and desist notices...and they are going for an IPO (again) ? Another has political/social practices that will prevent me from being a customer.

@"whitebd" I almost answered it wrong but then I reread the statement since the wording was not the same. Note the year.

So for day 2, when you open up the link for the hint it says this content requires a premium subscription.....hmmmm But the solution is to scroll down to the bottom where they have the entire transcript of the techpod session. Just scroll through the transcript to answer the question.

yes, they tend to go back to where they had a successful resolution...regardless of whether your are still in that role or not.

There tends to be a direct correlation in many instances. For some it is a matter of being scared "stuff_less"

Well if it is the worst thing that happens today it is not a bad day.

Ah...but the socket you plug into is missing.
-
I do unplug from time to time...not as often as I should. This series has reinforced my known need to unplug and to attempt to do so more often and for longer periods of time. Thank you adatole !

This screams data warehouse...so at least you still have the data and it is not purged until you purge it.
-
I hate it when they auto negotiate down...and down...and down.

Survey says - Completed!

I get it...but at the same time, troops and units need to be able to operate without being connected all the time otherwise when things drop out, and they do, you can't depend on that crutch. If you flood an area with enough RF noise it will hamper even a digital signal.....

unfortunately it happens in the real world too, but knowing how siloed government is, that is what I was expecting.

A simple solution could be to add a flag to the record in the database such that is tagged as “removed” but still exists until the “removed” status is changed to “delete” and then the nightly DB maint will “empty the trash”. This would allow for “un-deleting” an interface, node ,etc…. Regards, Jon Frazier

The question here is...what is 100% down ? There is a point where things are so slow that you are effectively down and you are not generating enough traffic to do enough business to cover daily costs...your are effectively down at that point although everything is "up".

NCM is good at what it does...

Ahh...but ham radio still worked ! Those fire ants are a pain...more ways than one.
-
I haven't seen or made a punch card christmas tree in decades... you had 2400 baud ? I thought 1200 was rocking it after 300.

Sweet !

Tech license these days is very simple...you can get into 2m fm (mobile rig good for house too) for less than $150. The HF rigs cost the larger bucks as well as some of the digital vhf/uhf mobile radios.

Whatever you have to do to get the points you want. I am not judging. I tend to hang around the UX folks quite a bit.. meech has me on speed dial it seems but then I tend to offer up ideas that send them off into new rabbit holes. That is a good thing I hope. Of course I am not afraid to tell them when they ask "the…

The adaptive tests are good and bad. My experience with them is regarding medical certifications for my other life. It seems that they keep digging harder in certain subject areas to see if you really know it...then it shuts off says test is complete and you have to wait at least a day to find out if you even passed so you…

New Year, New Mission !!

We've been running a phishing awareness campaign here for over a year now. They send phishing like emails out and you are supposed to report them and you get a thumbs up or if you click on the link it rats you out and tells you the perils of what you may have done. Some are pretty crafty and look like an email document…

Actually it is the Atlantic Hurricane season (June 1 - November 30). We've already had 2 named storms this year before the season officially began. But yes, a DR site these days and it must be in a different geographic location.

Most excellent ! I will need to refer back to this for future reference.

I agree with rschroeder on this one. Until it is more mature and not the buzzword all the C-level execs want to attain in order to "keep up with the Joneses", we need to treat it like "The Fog" and keep away from it. Bad things lurk in "The Fog".

great write up Dez ! I can relate to the 4 teenage daughters thing...granted they are now mostly past that. Always had my SSID not broadcast... It is so silly how many people are fooled by some of the lamest phishing attempts....

ecklerwr1, yes the messenger back vanishes too. Most of the higher value items or special items are generally not available for "re-purchase".
