Ahh, but AD is not alive and therefore cannot know, assume, nor imply.

Nothing wrong with being on-premises. Just because everything cloud is the current hype doesn't mean it is mandatory or even fit into your business model or needs. As the author stated, you need to choose the right tool for the situation and not be peer pressured into boarding the hype train.

jgrobinette050 I believe there is a mix of both. Some people are using a single product while others have various portions of the suite in use.

Sad that there are companies like this....and things of this sort happen. But in some ways the company deserves it for being so lax in it's physical security policies. I know of companies that have good policies in this regard but the physical attributes of the building don't prevent tailgating. Once you are in, anyone can…

Facial recognition - "These are among the main findings of a nationally representative survey of 4,272 U.S. adults conducted June 3-17, 2019." I am curious how you can get a reasonable representation of the population with only 4272 adults out of a population of 327.2 million. On the topic of the article, it depends how…

Having a prevention plan and an action plan in place is great. But you have to practice it...

Funny about the reply all situation with Microsoft. Now granted it is generally a pain at times but there was one time it helped me solve an issue with a vender that put on"free" seminars in various parts of the country. They did not want to abide by my repeated requests to stop sending me their "ads". I mentioned that I…

It is at times hard to argue against the shear horsepower mainframes bring to the environment. And as tinmann0715 says, it is indeed a pendulum that swings between centralization and distributed. Somewhere there is a balance..but the fulcrum is always moving.

These are the same areas that non government IT professionals need to focus on as well. I don't see the need to play the government vs. non government role. IT is IT whether in the private sector or not.

Thank you... Please help spread the word and vote it up !

duplicate data across multiple tools in different formats...and it all referred to differently. Therefore trying to pull it all together in a meaningful way takes much time and effort and may prove to be not manageable or maintainable... This brings back one of my favorite terms. "Normalized data", I have seen an entire…

I tend to agree with tcbene on this.

What is great to bring is a charging battery such as I have one like this... I can charge 4 items at 2.1 amps each at the same time. Usually ipad and phone can be charged several times on one charge of the device. http://www.insigniaproducts.com/products/computer-speakers-accessories/NS-MB20800.html sort of like this...(be…

I believe IoT needs to mean something beside "Internet of Things": "Internet of Threats" as I have recently seen it referred to. "Idiocy of Things" "Infection of Trouble""

The facebook stuff doesn't seem to bother the millennials who don't aspire to much beyond flipping burgers to support their online gaming habit. Then there are those that use facebook as their online diary of their life.... While some are semi prudent in what they post..others let it all hang out. I am sure most people…

agreed in theory...in practice you have to be able to validate each environment before you get to production. This becomes a daunting task across many OS's, versions, and hardware variances up to and including SAN and NAS. Coordinating patching and maintenance windows can also be fun...
