some of the things you mention already exist in NTM, namely: - link color shows link speed - display vlans on a trunk these can be turned on/off in display options. I'm not sure you should be using a mapping tool to identify mismatched vlans on a port-channel, however:) Sounds like a task for a monitoring or…

forgot to mention - dynamic queries based on Custom Properties to dynamically add nodes / members and keep groups updated. So for example, there is an Application group, lets say DFS - all servers that have that tag and application template applied go into that group. Group changes status to warning when one of the servers…

First off, we have multiple teams using SolarWinds, so we use one custom property for owner (Netops, Systems, Apps, Security, etc.). This allows us to create views that only show NetOps nodes. Further, we use Custom Properties to create a City / Site structure and display our nodes on NPM summary using this hierarchy: We…

This feature would be amazing to have in order to see cost-benefit analysis of moving to cloud hosting based on actual utilization vs some random number thrown out by a sales guy!
-
I would love to see this implemented as well!
-
you can customize the upgrade templates to make them work for ASAs which is what we are doing.
-
usually they mark the feature requests as working on or something. However, this shows that as of 8.1 they are planning on it:Features Available in VMAN 8.1 (Orion)

ah, I see it now. The link to view the webcast is right there on the NCM connector page.

denstjames would you mind sharing how you got the VIP up/down and health displayed like this? Did you ever manage to figure out how to get alerts going on the VIPs? Any help would be appreciated!

Is there a recorded version of this seminar somewhere? Or is it going to be available at a later time?
-
mesverrum, this is certainly interesting since I didn't think this was possible at all Thanks for sharing! I added this to my server just to try. If I understand the query and the results correctly it takes all routing tables from all nodes and orders them by RouteAge. I'm not sure if this would work for t1n0m3n, but…

I'm not sure what SolarWinds modules you have installed, but I would check out the hotfixes for them as well. This last upgrade had more hotfixes with it than ever before. Hope that helps.
-
I'm not so sure if NPM 10.4.2 has the fix built in. I upgraded NPM to 10.4.2 and NCM to 7.1.1 last week and have this issue. Have a support case open right now, waiting for an answer.
-
We resolved the issue by applying Windows updates and restarting the servers. Granted, in our case its 2 servers on the same OS - Windows Server 2016. Hope this helps.
-
Unfortunately I haven't found a way to do this. I had to forward netflow to multiple destinations from my network devices.
-
what worked for us is the NPM hotfix 1.

rschroeder, we were in the same boat before. We had our main WAN link between two pollers go down and no alerts. I opened a case and support explained to me that since the nodes that are polled by the additional poller don't get updated in the database by the additional poller, they keep the same status as before (usually…

If the change was pushed via NCM, it will show up under the NCM tab as changes. If someone made a change via SSH you would see who last saved the config (assuming they save the config after the change). If that isn't enough you can turn on SNMP traps to be sent to SolarWinds whenever a change is made on a network device.

ttl, I went through Select Nodes in the first place. So I removed them all, then added them all back: the point I was trying to make in the other post is that it doesn't make any sense, but somehow this worked. Try re-creating your job as a new one perhaps or dividing the job into two (half nodes in each) for testing. I…

thank you, that makes sense! I'll give it a try

We are using NCM version 7.4. I don't have a big pool of nodes to work with now since I cleaned up a lot of these manually to get below the license limit. The ones that I see added via discovery that are still left over seem to be the nodes that didn't have the right SNMP string setup so they were imported as ICMP-only…

I know upgrading an ASA is rather easy... but I thought the point of the Firmware Upgrade feature was automation. We don't have a consistent configuration of interfaces for ASAs since some are used for remote site VPN and some are local. Basically what we need is a way to script getting the correct interface into the copy…

It's been a month, so I'm responding to bump the thread:) Did anybody get this working?
-
are there any specific ports we should check for NCM to work on a poller engine? We're having the same problem, but the service restart didn't help. So I'm trying to track down this issue, got a support case open, but haven't heard from support yet.
-
Did you get anywhere with the support case? If the issue was resolved, can I please have the support case number so I can provide it to support as reference? We're having the same problem, just started last week out of the blue. I'm running the same version as the OP, so I'm thinking about upgrading all modules to the…

I'm confused about the same problem. My jobs scheduled on the main Orion only seem to cover nodes polled there, but when I go to edit jobs on the Poller I get taken to the web console for the main Orion box. Do I just need to install an additional web console on each polling engine?
-
In other words, there is no way to use and / or operations?
-
Jiri Cvachovec, I didn't get this issue resolved. I ended up mass editing devices and hand-picking one particular profile that i thought would work. I think that my issue may have been related to the fact our connection profiles were set to use SNMP for config transfer instead of SSH. I think the login test would work…

Do you mean to say that you want a report that shows new subnets being added or removed to the enterprise? As in which subnet showed up that didn't exist before and where is it? I don't think what you're asking exists in SolarWinds products right now, but I could be wrong. Maybe its in IPAM which I don't have. I found that…

thanks for sharing this - that's exactly what I was looking for!
