I'm also still looking for a solution to this as well. Though I believe to make this work, the Telnet protocol handler just needs to be turned on somehow in IE8. It was first disabled by Microsoft in IE7, but there were reg hacks for IE7 that do not work with IE8. Anyone have any ideas?
