So why did you change the device icons from "balls" to "dots". I hate the dots.

If it's as slow as the built-in discovery in NPM, you might have to pay ME to use it. -Dave Horch

Damn! We're now getting it too. I followed the advice of others and killed the process. It automagically restarted and all is well again. I'm on 9.5 sp2 without the hotfix. I will apply the HF and wait, I guess. ?Q: How does one rollback to v9.1, when life was beautiful all the time? Is it a reinstall? -H

Thanks Mark. Is there an example somewhere of an "ideal" excel spreadsheet format/layout to use? If I could see what SW/IPAM is "looking" for, I could then adjust, remake or customize our current spreadsheet(s) and tabs to prepare them for import. This would be huge for me. TIA, -H

Mark, thanks for that workaround!! Excellent! Can we count on this function being a little less complicated in a future release? Again, thanks! -H

But mister staff member, the main question (yet to be answered) is; "how do I do a mass change of the Type" If impossible, then make it possible. And the answer is.....????

THANK THANK THANKS! Both of your suggestions were taken advantage of, and key to getting things running again!!! First, as Dobbs suggested, I went to add/remove programs, clicked the main install, and clicked "change". This allowed me to effect a "repair", which did indeed put be back at v9.5.0. Then I took John's…

Re: RTFM - Just re-read it. The FM is silent on using Windows scheduler for this. So, who knows the secret for that? TIA -Dave Horch

Admin/Settings/NCM Settings then click on Cisco vendor, In the resultant list pages (in my case 32 pages!), you can click the "select all" checkbox at the top (not labeled, but you'll find it), then click "+ add to NCM". That will get THAT PAGE of devices into NCM. Repeat for all the other pages. Kind of brute force, but…

This *should* be a no-brainer! C'mon SolarWinds, get this in the next release!

I have a *guess* that the program can only read from the active log file, and can't read .zips. You may have to unzip the zip, then perhaps copy/paste it back into the active log file. Wouldn't that be a PITA? I hope I'm wrong...

I can tell you from the school of hard knocks.... Syslog can seriously ruin overall Solarwinds NPM performance!! If your NPM runs like a sick dog, then look at what you're doing with syslog data. set your duration down to 7 days (the default), and purge any old records the the DB syslog table.
