Great! Please share the entire SQL for the benefit of the community

It sounds like you simply removing the 'Disk Volumes' dashboard resource, repolling and adding it back. That will not remove any historical information nor will it remove the volume for polling. What I was suggesting was to go to Settings > "Manage Nodes" in the web console, locate your node, select the disk volume and…

From the Solarwinds server, if you type https://x.x.x.x/mob in a browser, are you able to login with the credentials you are supplying (replace x.x.x.x with the IP of ESX v5.5. host)?

1. The agent installed on the syslog server will need 1 node license. If you have say 10 routers in a remote location sending logs to central LEM server, it would use 10 node licenses. By using a remote syslog server + an LEM agent on it, we are now talking 11 node licenses, i.e., 1 additional node license for each syslog…

randy.morgan@gmail.com have you seen this? When Good OIDs Go Bad: Customizing Device Pollers

hi istefanos SDK maybe an overkill here. Is there any reason a customized View and something like a Map resource wouldn't suffice here? http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/DetachResource.aspx?ResourceID=1874&NetObject=¤tUrl=aHR0cDovL29yaW9uZGVtby5z… The background image can be anything. If you just want a list, and…

someone might have uninstalled the syslog service. go to c:\programdata\Solarwinds\Installers and re-install the Core
-
Have you tried changing how the SQL client connects to the SQL server. I have had pretty good success with that setting. What aspect of Orion/NPM do you find most annoying?

can u export your template and attach it to your reply? any proxy server required for the browser to get out to the internet?

On your Riverbed device, you will need to add the SolarWinds server IP as an SNMP Trap destination. You will then need to launch the SNMP Trap Viewer and configure rules to handle these traps (email actions, etc). Ideally, you would want to add the Riverbed device sending traps as an Orion node, even if it's just an ICMP…

In that case, a scheduled report should serve as a reminder I would think. But if you must use an alert, I can take a stab at modifying the query tomorrow. It's fairly easy to change the query. How many runbook "groups" are we talking about total?

This and other new port requirements are documented in the NPM 12 upgrade guide NPM Upgrade Guide - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

Good point. I didn't think of that. You can have a second trigger that does the same thing upon updates/inserts to the application monitor table (I will need to browse the database to see the exact table name) Did I miss covering any other bases?

A domain account that is part of the local admins group is acceptable in most places. Has this been raised as a specific concern from your pen testers?
-
Take a look at this SWQL query to return all acknowledged alerts that shows the JOINs with alertstatus table. It has the SWQL, but all the DB table name should be identical. So, you should be able to convert this to an SQL query easily

It doesn't look like there is a connector readily available for this device. However, new connectors are added fairly regularly and if this device supports Syslog, it would be relatively easy to add a new connector. I suggest you open a ticket Technical Support Ticket Submission Form | SolarWinds and submit a log sample to…

It's possible. I believe you will need to wrap a NULL check around the output to get a conditional display This thread should give you some pointers http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17869227/sql-server-case-statement-when-is-null
-
I think you changed the polling method. the advise was to just change availability from ICMP to SNMP. see the 'SNMP Status' section below NPM 10.7 RC1 Now Available
-
Agree with mharvey there. I'm not sure what exactly the gaps are in your inventory data vs SAM's asset inventory data (and I hope you compared it while adding SAM as a WMI node as opposed to an SNMP node). Something worth exploring is Solarwinds Patch Manager. You do need to deploy the Patch Manager's WMI Providers (these…

Ok great. Please mark the discussion as Answered.

Worst case - group will get the worst status of a group member. So, in your use case, the group will get a down when either of the application monitors are down Best case - group will get the best status of a group member. In your use case, when at least one of the members is up, the group is up. When both are down is when…

If you drag the DestinationAccount with a Distinct modifier, it should do the trick

You will need to setup a custom poller from the relevant OIDS in the CISCO CRAS MIB
-
You shouldn't have to, although that is a viable option. You can use either Node or Interface properties to filter. For example, you can potentially use Hardware LIKE 'Virtual*' by leveraging the Hardware attribute displayed in the Node details page here…

What are the versions of the products installed on the Solarwinds server? You will find the information in the footer of the login screen

I would have though the Config Wizard would have assigned all the nodes to the "new" engine. Go to Manage > Nodes settings page, select all the nodes and click on Edit Properties. Then change the polling engine option only from the "old" to the new one

I have used samplicator a while back. If I recall correctly, the -S spoofed the address when I tried. I think it sources from port 2000 by default. Maybe remove the -s and the -p option and have one of the flow sources send to port 2000 of your samplicator? That way you startup the samplicator with all the defaults and…

ok great. Had to be something simple

T.J, Very late response to your queries 1. Not sure. 2. There maybe an Internal* Event but I don't see anything specific that describes this in Event Description section of the LEM User Guide Probably best to open a support ticket if you must find out if there is an Event
