Correct. Status is determined by polling. If the interface wa down only for 10 seconds, there is a very good chance that the polling time didn't coincide with that 10 second interval. To your other question, trigger and reset alert actions are executed by default only when the alert was triggered and reset respectively -…

Yes, its possible. Simply use the spanner icon for the agent in question to Offline modules. If you need to do it for multiple agents create a bew OS Policy and push the customized policy to those agents. Refer to the documentation on how to create a new Policy

Which version of NCM? Have you tried from another browser like Chrome? In the latest version of NCM (v7.3), you simply have to edit the node properties and change a drop down to manage it via NCM as well Beta2 for Network Configuration Manager v7.3 is Available!

read/write community string is required only for SNMP SET operations. You can leave the field blank.

* can I use Orion integration module to integrate VMan with NCM, IPAM and UDT console without NPM? Not currently. NPM or SAM is required. The only requirement is that the ESX host is a managed node in NPM/SAM. The plan is to cut off this dependency as well as per the first roadmap item Virtualization Manager - What We Are…

You can address this in a couple of different ways - Make the Alerts view the default view for helpdesk and they can use the checkbox to hide already acknowledged alerts (as shown in screencap below) - Add a Custom Table (assuming NPM v10.7+) resource to your dashboard view
-
Be sure to 'start' the email active response connector. If you simply fill in the details, it will let you click the 'test' button but won't fire until the connector is started.
-
The easiest way is via Asset Inventory information available in SAM http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NetPerfMon/NodeDetails.aspx?NetObject=N%3a574&ViewID=408 You can create a Custom Report to show this information for all servers
-
Why would you want to unmanage for 15 minutes? It sounds like the trigger condition for the traffic alert can also include the node status condition so that you get alerts only when the node is up.
-
Why not setup a UnDP transform that computes the difference between the two pollers? You can then create you alert on the transform poller value > 0
-
That would be an NCM report you are trying to edit. Which version of NCM? Do you also have NPM, if so which version?
-
If you install SAM on your NPM server, it will provided an integrated interface for the two. You can install SAM evaluation on your production NPM as long as the versions are compatible.

Go to Settings, Manage accounts. Edit the user account and you can set the default view when they login
-
cwstad What you will have to do is create a new monitoring account in vCenter, and use the roles & permissions to hide the unwanted esx hosts to this account. Once you have this account setup, delete the old credential from Virtualization Manager and add this new one.
-
Is there anything out of the ordinary in your email address, i.e., any special characters? is it a comma separated list or just 1 email address in the alert action?
-
It would be a feature request.
-
It should pick up all the Errors and Warnings in the default Application Log
-
1 and 4 can be achieved through the alert manager using the 'Do not trigger until condition exists for more than' setting. 2 and 3 requires custom SQL

In the latest versions, you will see the VIRTUALIZATION tab only when you are licensed for Virtualization Manager and established integration between the Orion server & Virtualization Manager. There is no out of the box dashboard integration between LEM and your Orion console. You can use the External Websites feature of…

You want to track domain admin logins to a specific DC only? In any case, 1. Enable the Directory Services query tool on the LEM appliance first 2. Create a User Defined Group for "Domain Admins" You can then use this group to match the user account in your filters or correlation conditions (for rules) You can find some…

Try a MIB walk to validate the information provided by Mikrotik's SNMP agent. There is an snmpwalk.exe utility directly under NPM's installation folder.

What is the main driver for a "sensor" in each site? Is it bandwidth conservation? or a security concern? See the section on using a detached Syslog server http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/LEM/Docs/LEM_Evaluation_Guide.pdf

Have you seen this already? Upgrade IOS using NCM? please move this to the Network Configuration Manager forum

See the Port Details resource in this Node Details view http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NetPerfMon/NodeDetails.aspx?NetObject=N:418

You can create an NCM rule, and run a compliance report http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NCM/ComplianceReports.aspx

Paul, That is a perfect use case for the Additional Web Server. See the 'Segment Deployments' illustration below Orion Architecture

covered in great detail below Threat Intelligence Feed And Automatic Connector Updates - Log & Event Manager 6.2 Release Candidate is now available!

I'm sure it can be done with some SQL wizardry. A workaround to get you close would be to add a 'Multiple Object Chart' resource to the dashboard, choose the nodes / interfaces etc you want to analyze, and choose the sampling interval to be 30 minutes. The data is automatically averaged across the sampling interval - so,…

You will not lose historical data when you upgrade from LEM v5.7 to LEM v6.0. As a best practice, always take a snapshot 'of the VM as a backup before proceeding with the upgrade
