Go to Setting > Manage Nodes Group by Vendor, Machine Type or any other attribute that lets you find all the routers. do a bulk select using the check box on the title bar. Click on 'Edit Properties' and set the SNMP v3 credentials for all the selected nodes

1. Basic alerts are defined for an explicit selection of objects as opposed to advanced alerts that are simply criteria translated to SQL queries (i.e., new monitored objects are automatically included in alert evaluations). So, creating from scratch / modifying the out of the box list would be much faster I would imagine.…

sciclsa Use ${N=SwisEntity;M=ApplicationAlert.ApplicationAvailability} instead of ${N=SwisEntity;M=Application.Status}

hardly any. you can pass on the template definition to them to make them comfortable

Which product and which version? In the Legacy Report Writer, you can most certainly re-order the fields
-
while I don't know why your API calls didn't work as expected, you can certainly add a new 'Network Sonar Discovery' without any SNMP, vCenter or WMI credentials and paste the list of IPs you want to add in the 'Specific nodes' section
-
Can you post a copy of your template? What issue are you running into? Did you enable Session Tracing?
-
This is not a report. It is a pre-defined dashboard Resource (Node Details resource) shown in a Node Details View. If you also want to show specific custom properties in this View, click on the 'Customize Page' link on the top of this vew, click on the + sign to add a new resource, and choose 'Edit Custom Node Property'…

It is an open feature request

yes, you can. you can remove it from the ignore list as well any time
-
Yes, it should work fine for an AX4 array. If you are facing any issues gathering information?

Looks like they are available alexl.charter. In the variable selection wizard, choose 'Custom Interface Poller' for the 'Show variables for' drop down. Then change the drop down for 'Group by' to 'Variable Category'. You should be able to find Node and Interface properties including custom properties.
-
Add a 'Custom Object Resource' to your NOC view. Once added, you can use the Edit button of the resource to display charts for any object - Node (CPU, packet loss, etc), Interface (bps, packets, throughput, etc), etc.

Best to open a support ticket

Why is the same node assigned to multiple polling engines?
-
Nodes and volumes are additive when NPM and SAM is installed on the same server. You are only constrained by interfaces from the NPM license in your case. Do you see Events that the node went up and down, but not getting emails? If the node was detected as down, it should also affect the availability values for this node

How are you testing your powershell script? From the powershell console or as a SAM script monitor? If you browse the logicaldisk class from the wbemtest tool, do you see the mapped drive? I am suspecting the network drive is visible when you logged in, but is unlikely to be visible when queried from a windows service.

The agent software itself doesn't require any reboots if all the pre-requisites like .NET and VC++ re-distributables are in place. It is also likely that you have encountered normal Windows behavior which doesn't allow additional software to be installed until a reboot has been completed for updates that required a reboot…

Frank, Can you post a screenshot of the config page?
-
I don't believe its possible to designate certain parameters as optional. What you could possibly do is make the users enter a fixed dummy value and provide descriptive parameter labels and sub-text. Within the template, you can use line2 and line3 only if they are not 'dummy' values if (@line2 !='dummy') { CLI {@line2} } }

That's for API integration with other solarwinds products like Web Help Desk and Alert Central. You don't need to use that tab if you just want alert notifications out of NPM.
-
Never seen anything like it. Any screenshots? Is it affecting devices in another location than the NPM server? How often does it happen?
-
Which version of SAM? If you delete the node and add it back, you will lose the historical data.
-
there is no need for 2 groups. Collapse the 6 conditions into a single group. Toggle the outermost logic operator to an AND (the Orange vertical line with the half circle should change to a blue line(?) with a triangle)

I'm assuming you are seeing these messages on the windows update agent log? You may want to check how you have packaged your app. Have you seen the excellent resource below already? Deploying Custom Packages with Patch Manager
-
Have you considered the latest version of Engineer's Toolset? You can pick a polling engine and do ping, tracert, etc from the web console Engineer's Toolset v11 is generally available

Please open a ticket with support. they can provide a step-by-step migration guide for you. Short answer - the software version must be compatible with the database. So, you will need to install identical software versions on the new server first, and then run the upgrade installers
