I'd also say that it is technically possible to host multiple solarwinds databases (each in a separate instance when using the default Name or specifying a separate name for each individual DB) on the same physical/virtual SQL Server. like dgsmith80 said, the solarwinds documentation clearly states "using the same…

So I haven’t found any more useful information. I guess the Barco Support ist your best option here. Sorry that I didn‘t find out more. Hope you get this running. If you do, let us know what combination works for Barco devices. cheers

10.10.10.2 for example crashed. However due to the security of the whole system we can not Ping or monitor the subsystem. We can only monitor "from the outside" and "ask" the loadbalancer. If we could monitor the subsystem we would not need to query the Loadbalancer. BR, Holger

To maybe help others who might run into this issue, could you give us some more information about the modification the DBA made? as for SQL Memory optimizations I was only able to find OLTP, which should be supported by the Orion platform thanks a lot

To my knowledge, unfortunately not. The SWIS endpoint for API calls is as far as I know on the main polling engine. cheers!

Hi RaviK, I remember having the discussion during the EMEA Partner Bootcamp in Cork. bogdan.stan@xpo.com provided some pretty deep insights, so the Kudos go to him on that topic. I guess all that info sums it up nicely and as always in IT: the answer is "It depends"

Did you ever get the Thwack Table? Maybe you got the last one, because it is still not available any more (at least here in Germany)
-
MEh, we are still on Windows Server 2012 R2... but yay!
-
bharris you said that your NCM Backup/.../..../Whatever jobs ran not at the same time as your DB Maintenance jobs for NCM, correct? How about your schedules of the Jobs rajasekar

Would you like to have a "nice Chart" that displays this? Or is a nice List also OK? Group Members are to be found in the "Container" Section when you look into SWQL Studio.

it has that fresh Office 2007 look and feel. From the UX Sessions I have participated, I feel confident that this "issue" is addressed by product management. It might take a while but I am sure the programmers are already working on a new network atlas.

Hi Sean, I am already on SAM 6.4 RC. Do you have any information if it is only fixed in 6.4 GA or if the Hotfix is already included in the RC. Thanks, Holger

With respect to SQL Licensing, don't you have to license the whole virtual infrastructure for SQL when not using HyperV as Hypervisor? I usually recommend a physical SQL-Box for my clients if they don't already own MSSQL licenses. Cheers

Monitoring the kids seems to be one of the best ideas I have ever seen on Thwack

jrouviere is correct, the "Filter Results that match a pattern" option has RegEx capabilities, examples can be found here: Filter the results of an executed script I personally would not run a "show running config" via Script as this is used anyway by the nightly backup job. so for your https Server you could run a…

nathan.hejnicki you a correct on #1, I was confusing it with multiple Pairs of HA I installed recently (Core / APE / AWS)

unmanage and mute should require the same permissions, this is also my thought on this. And yes you seem to be right as well, that the screenshot seems to be an application monitor, not a node.

I would suspect different authentication models. There has been a change in the way microsoft authenticates against smb shares. What version of smb are you running mjheaberlin? like dgsmith80 mentioned, try to connect to the smb share from your Orion Server with a plain Windows Explorer and your credentials. If this…

Why would you need to reinstall if just the IP of the Server changes? This should be updated in the SQL DB when the services start up. Just move the existing Application Server to the new DataCenter and move the SQL Server if needed. maybe I did not understand correctly how the migration is planned.

Good to hear that the questions have been answered. If you like you can mark my answer correct/helpful. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask.

I tried the exam when it was still in beta without prior training, there were some question from the A&D exam, but the emphasis is on the word „tried“ here...

Hi tdanner, thanks for confirming what I suspected. It wouldn't be very frequently, but 2-4 times per month. I thought the same as you, I will generate the XML and import it to NTA. Thanks again Tim! cheers
-
Thanks for the link. Actually I recall reading it a while ago, but I haven't tried it myself. (shame on me) It seems you are right, that there is no verb for doing this. But this doesn't necessarily mean there is no other way for doing that. For example there is no Verb for adding a world Map Point with given values, but…

Hey silverbacksays, I am a frequent visitor on the github page of the API. I have been building small Solarwinds automation tasks with the API since 2012. Either I didn't search right, or there is nothing on there with respect to NTA IP Address Groups, that's why I came back here. Cheers

You might want to Bump the FR for this https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3833#start=100

Don't be disappointed and don't throw away your option of building new. It really can help to improve performance when your system has been running for 10+ years and you have some "mishaps" in the Database. When you want to "migrate" again, give the right people a call. There are consultancy companies around that have the…

The Data is stored in the SolarwindsOrion Database in the dbo.NodesData table. When you are on an older Version it is in dbo.nodes. It is just a True/False (Boolean) value. If you need to do this not very often just adjust it in SQL. I don't know if the field is writeable by the SDK. Cheerio
-
Hi William, we got the response that those nodes were not correctly configured with ACS Your hints lead to that concluion!
-
Hi William, thanks for your Input, unfortunately we are not in charge of the actual config of the switches, sometimes the switch admin can not set the suggested settings due to compliance regulations. We are in a highly regulated field. We will try to enforce your suggestion. However if there is no other way we have to…

We have to scrub classified information from the log, this will take some time. I will try to have the log cleaned up over the weekend. Unfortunately company regulation does not allow TFTP.
