if you like, I've sent my direct contact details via Thwack message, shoot me a message and we can look at that together

hmm, you are right, just tested this, for an upgrade there is no option to select the language, I think this is only for fresh installs. I haven't come across this upgrade discrepancy, as I always INSIST on installing Orion in English, as well as trying to always use IDs for filtering my SWQL Queries instead of using the…
-
Hi, you probably upgraded with "english" Settings. Unfortunately there is (in my opinion) no way to really change this (I haven't found a way except for updating the database with SQL (not SWQL) directly. When you have issues with SWQL Tables, just use VolumeTypeID = 4 instead of VolumeType = Fixed Disk Cheers. Holger

N-Able is now a an own company, that is separate from Solarwinds. There are still some community members here who have an N-Central instance. So what is your question here....
-
to revive this thread, we are also seeing this issue where a started "list Ressources" job keeps staying in the "unknown" status indefinitely. We are checking multiple NodeIDs, also different Polling methods (SNMP / WMI / Agent). Currently I see this only with one client.

Sad to see you go, this is Life and it changes, even thought we might not like the change, it happens inevitably. wishing you all the best for your future, hoping to still see some posts from you over time. You have been a central figure in this community. Take care and Godspeed

If you feel comfortable, look at the dbo.CustomPropertyValues Table in the SolarWindsOrion Database

I am not the programmer or a SolarWinds employee, I just tell you "it is what it is". Don't shoot the messenger. As you seem to be proficient in SQL Stuff. you can change values in the Database of course. However if you break something by doing this, this is on you. ... von mir aus auch auf Deutsch, da hab ich kein Problem…

2020.2.6 is still RC I believe. Release Notes will be available for GA.
-
This is expected behavior when you have fixed/Pre-defined values for the CPs. When you get into the underlying Database structure you quickly realize why. if you are interested we can take this offline, as it would be a longer discussion
-
as long as one single node has this value set in it's custom Property you can not delete/alter/etc it. My suggestion would be: - create a new value in that list with the correct name. - Open Manage nodes and order by your NodeRole CP, - select only Nodes that have App Server as that CP - Bulk Change the value for ALL…

I just have found this with a client of mine. Did you ever get an answer from anyone?

While I agree on your points that Orion Maps still has not the full capability of Network Atlas - I am also seeing issues on automatic connections etc. - it’s doomed to be phased out. Whenever this might happen we don’t know yet, it might happen at an inconvenient moment. You need to upgrade the system due to a new shiny…
-
Unfortunately there is no converter. You need to recreate them. It might be a good time to review the Maps and maybe throw out unneeded ones and create new ones.
-
Not wanting to be the devils advocate, I personally would start moving to Orion Maps instead of Network Atlas. The depreciation notice is set and it will eventually be removed. https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/content/release_notes/orion_platform_2020-2_release_notes.htm#Deprecat other…

I was not aware of w3w….thanks for sharing this

Hi @"fmunoz" the „netobject“ Part should have never been in the URL for the Report. I am not sure where this comes from. Is the URL in a report email or do you click on it somewhere in the menu? maybe we can dig out where the wrong URL originates and fix it.
-
Remove the ?netobject= part. I believe this is the „problem part“

No Probllama, it’s a tough decision. With WMI polling you put higher loads on your Pollers and the risk of port-exhaustion -> support.solarwinds.com/.../Ephemeral-Port-Exhaustion

For moving forward, try to download SP1 and install it manually. Select the Windows Server 2008 R2 specific download www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx
-
when Windows Update is not working, this might do the trick www.alttechnical.com/.../89-cleanup-of-software-distribution-folder
-
The Button „Check for Updates“ is not working i guess, right? It could be that Windows Update is „stuck“ I will send you a howto to get that back working.
-
It is compatible when SP1 is installed or, as @"aLTeReGo" pointed out, when all available updates are installed
-
Well, did you install SP1 or later for Windows Server 2008 R2, or did you never patch the system?
-
After the installation you need to restore your Orion Database on the new instance, then run the Config Wizard. Be sure to specify SQL server in the format servername\instancename otherwise you would end up pointing to the old 2008 SQL as I assume this is most likely to be installed in the default instance
-
It should create it‘s own subfolder with the instance name as far as I am aware. You can of course create an own folder for your instance, that’s up to your personal choice.
-
CircusWOW would probably prefer REST API calls. At least that’s what I have seen in my last projects with this solution
