  • I recommend double-checking the following: * Are you using the sa account to create the database? * Is the ..\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management folder set to RO? If so, then adjust the folder to not be RO. Close the folder. Open it again and ensure the RO checkbox is now not checked. * Ensure your account…
  • We appreciate your feedback and for the great feature request. We are evaluating the ability for the user to highlight devices that are in violation within the Policy Reporter and be able to open the Execute Command Script window. Within this window the highlighted devices would appear and users could execute whichever…
  • Is this configurable or will this be configurable in the next release? These settings are not currently configurable. We are evaluating whether we can slip the ability to configure these settings into this upcoming release or whether it will be a part of the following release.
  • NetFlow Traffic Analyzer includes two schedules for automatically updating the DNS entries. If NetFlow was unable to resolve the DNS entry, then NetFlow will try to pull the DNS information every 2 days until the DNS information is retrieved. Once the DNS information is populated, NetFlow updates the DNS values every 7…
  • Development is still investigating the IP SLA issue with the devices you mentioned.
  • Debbi, I recommend opening a ticket with Support and including the Orion diagnostics file with the ticket. This will help the development team to troubleshoot the issue. Also, can you please also include the size of the Orion database and system specs for the Orion server and SQL server?
  • OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42.1.1.7.1.2.13 is not listed in the MIB walk so it does not look like this MIB is supported for this specific device. Also, from the MIB Walk, I can see that rttMonEchoAdminCodecType MIB is not supported on the device. This is one of the MIBs VoIP Monitor uses when configuring the IP SLA operations. I…
  • these still only works say 1 in 10 attempts. Not sure if its just something I have to live with. Or if we need to upgrade to fix this issue.... At the beginning of this thread, you mentioned that the Edit NetFlow Sources view does not load. Are you referring to the Edit NetFlow Sources view under the NetFlow Settings…
  • John, Thanks for your feedback. LANsurveyor is very complimentary with Cirrus in that it provides a visual diagram of your network. Many customers not only want to see which port a device is connected to but also see a diagram of the entire network. This additional functionality is the primary reason for…
  • This fix will be available in the next minor/major release of Cirrus. We are currently defining when we plan to release an updated version.
  • pguenther used the device template she posted to http://thwack.com/files/folders/cirrus_device_templates/default.aspx. The device template should be saved to ..\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes folder. Additionally, the transfer config settings in Cirrus for the Alteon box should be set to…
  • If you right-click and selelct download config from the 1 device that is reporting connectivity issues, is the backup successful? If not, then Cirrus is having problems communicating with the device. If the device backs up the config successfully, then I recommend creating a ticket with support at…
  • You can change the Config Archive directory to better suite your Orion integration needs. For example, you can create a custom property in Cirrus under File > Settings > Custom Properties and call it Orion, for example, You can then right-click on the nodes in Cirrus that you want to view configs for in Orion, select Edit…
  • Dennis, It would be very helpful to be able to view a MIB Walk for the VoIP device. Please ensure you use the same read/write community string that you use in VoIP Monitor and email the MIB file to OrionBeta@solarwinds.com. If you have the Engineer's Toolset, use the MIB Walk tool and set the "MIB Tree to Walk" value to…
  • The current plan is to release this feature in Q4. Update: This release is now slated for late Q2 or Q3 08.
  • Unfortunately, these resources are not documented so we do not have instructions for modifying the resources. They are like the other Orion resources in that users that are familiar with SQL and ASP should be able to make changes. The default location for resource files is C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds\NetPerfMon\Resources. Each…
  • An update to the Device Tracker is slated for either later this year or in the first half of next year. In the meantime, another great tool for identifying switch port connections is the LANsurveyor product. This solution will discover your network, diagram your network, continuously scan for updates, and provide switch…
  • I recommend double-checking Cirrus to ensure that the Pix is pointing to the appropriate Enable Level within the Device Details window and has the appropriate Enable Password specified. From the session trace, it looks like Cirrus does not know to enter enable mode.
  • The "No SNMP" issue is related to having node monitoring turned off and adding a new device. Performing the steps below should resolve the issue. You will need to perform these steps each time you add a new device with node monitoring turned off. We are working on a resolution for this issue. Option 1 1. Add new device 2.…
  • Thanks for the update. My recommend is to open a case with support at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b to help troubleshoot the error message.
  • The document included in the beta invite includes feature and bug details. We do not have the official release notes available for release yet. However, once they are available, I will post them.
  • Enjoyed working with you and am glad you are now successfully automatically backing up configs within Cirrus on the Nortel Alteon Application switch.
  • Thanks for posting the screenshot. I recommend closing Cirrus, updating the SNMPStatus field in the Nodes table for each of the devices to state OK, and opening Cirrus. Wait about an hour or so and see if the value changes back to "No SNMP Support"
  • Cirrus v4.0 should work with the Free or Toolset TFTP servers, each of which run as a service.
  • In a future release of Cirrus, we plan to pull the configs from the database and display them on a web console. This update should resolve the security concern :)
  • The resources currently display the config download for the day. However, config listing resource is editable so you change which configs are displayed by default.
  • This is a request development is still looking into for the next major release.
  •  Ahhh...that is a beta protected thread. The gist of the discussion is as follows: I recommend double-checking that the interface, index #xx for <ip address>, referenced in the Event Log is added in Orion. You can verify the interface is monitored in Orion by clicking on View > Interfaces within the System Manager,…
  • Correct!! This is a feature we are planning for the next release. I recommend signing up for the NetFlow Beta at which is currently underway. The next beta round, slated to begin in a few weeks, will enable you to test out this feature.
  • Bret, Would support be able to work with you on the issue where Cirrus is slow and almost unresponsive. We have been unable to duplicate and getting more information on this issue will help resolve the issue. We are currently working on the "No SNMP" issue. You should only experience this issue when node monitoring is…
