I'm no longer using WHD. Solarwinds no longer offer a free single user version. Trial version expires & not even a clean install gets another 14 days free I've now moved over to osTicket free forever
-
I'm in complete agreement. Our WHD is internal only (no access from the internet), therefor it does not require the same level of enforcement.
-
No, I tried what was suggested with no change. I ended up going back to an earlier version because I don't have the hours spare to fluff around with it
-
migrate.bat??? thank you. Didn't know about that previously. So I ran migrate.bat (as administrator) &.... C:\WebHelpDesk>migrate The system cannot find the path specified. I've installed to WHD C:\WebHelpDesk

Hi Avadhut. Interestingly it worked fine on the previous build. It's only since upgrading to 12.8.5 this has started. Outgoing Mail Accounts (in WHD) is "Authorized" with Exchange/O365 There is nothing in the release notes for 12.8.5 mentioning changes to O365 connectivity I have not made any changes other than updating
-
Apologies, If forgot to mention it's O365 outbound email Inbound email is being accepted & processed same as previous builds Outgoing emails are 'Authorized' etc. It worked fine on the previous build.
-
Hi Again Avadhut, Any idea on how long it will take until the single user free edition is fixed & available again? Regards.
-
Hi Avadhut I'm after the Free version, not the Trail version https://www.solarwinds.com/free-tools/free-help-desk-software/registration The FREE version is still showing: WEB HELP DESK FREE EDITION TRIAL IS UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE Please contact us at sales@solarwinds.com and an ITSM expert will be in touch shortly
-
Hi Avadhut, this is still ongoing after 3 months & new releases & hotfixes... Do you have any idea when the free version will be available again? Thanks, Ralph
-
Hi Pabely, no not resolved yet. The last comment from Avadhut saying they're working on it. The page: https://www.solarwinds.com/free-tools/free-help-desk-software/registration says "WEB HELP DESK FREE EDITION TRIAL IS UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE"
-
Thank you, that seems to have cured it. I hasn't sent a duplicate in 4 days Ralph
-
Hi Avadhut, Hope our troubleshooting above will be of use to you. Feel free to reach out to me if there is anything I can do/test to assist. Ralph
-
Free until you restart the server or service At least Avadhut.Deshpande (product manager) says they're working on this (troubleshooting is complete )

Now running 12.8.3 - Build #12.8.3.1813 Nice how it automatically updated my SQL DB from 12.8.2 to 12.8.3 Here we go again with 14 days
-
Restarting WHD killed the free license So, now I'll backup my DB, blow away that VM, start & update my template VM & install 12.8.3
-
Here we are 0800 on Monday morning & It's showing Lets see what it's like after lunch, then I'll start with a WHD restart, then a system restart.
-
It's Friday (yay) & my 'free' version says I have 0 days left (after midday in New Zealand) It'll be interesting to see what it says on Monday (yuk)
-
Scheduled E-Mail Delivery Threshold is set to 5 (I haven't touched this since installation)
-
I certainly do... wrapper.java.additional.19=-Dwhd.12.7.8.not.send.mail.individually=false Also got it in wrapper.conf
-
We're using Exchange/Office365 & OAuth (we're a onmicrosoft.com client with a Tenant ID etc), outgoing mail smtp.office365.com
-
Update. I've switched from PostgreSQL to SQL Server (express) & the same issue is still happening. Looking in history_entry I see 3 entries: (I've copied 2 columns) for one email Entry_Date - Detail_Text 11:38:23.000 - "Hi Andrew, Thank you for letting me know..." 11:38:34.000 - An email was sent to Andrew... 11:38:38.000…
-
Thank you! Didn't think I was going daft so soon. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 8 days, my new clean install of the free version will expire. I'm still running 12.8.2.1372 I'll report back then
-
That is where I got it from.

I found the answer... & updated to v12.8.2 * Environment Variables\System Variable Variable name: JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONSVariable value: "-Dos.name=Windows Server 2016" Then the install/db creation worked fine. I am surprised this information or even creating the variable is not included in the installation Anyway, it's all…
