The 'ASP.NET Script Maps' is something I'd need to take a look at a log file for. But, the problem with AD authentication we found and have a fix we're working on for SP1. The workaround you described is how to deal with it. You will need to do this anytime you reconfigure the website until the SP comes out(we're actively…

Repair installation worked for me, too. Thanks. Best regards, Tomaz

It worked fine for a long time at the beginning (new Thwack platform). Couple of weeks ago I started to notice the problem occasionally and then the problem escalated for me a couple a days ago. It got better yesterday and today. Maybe it has something to do with the Chrome add-ons and some changes on Thwack? Just guessing.

I cannot say it's happening all the time to me, but often enough (including just now) to be unusable. It worsen to become noticeable a couple of weeks ago.

We're actively working on it now, for all of our products. You should see advances in this area in 2009. Any news on IPv6 support?

Is the web interface lacking some feature that you are using this tool for? Sorry for jumping in, but if you are planning to discontinue the standalone Syslog Viewer, then you should really implement the followings featuers in the web interface:* Ability to select the columns to display. * Sorting by the columns. *…

Thanks, but I was looking for more embedded solution with terminal emulator that is included with NPM and connects directly to node displayed in Node details page. It works fine for all users with fully functional "Management" web resource. In order to achieve that, in my experience user needs to have node management…

I have similar problem with licensed copy of NTA 3.1. How about giving the access to older versions in our customer portals? But then you will probably also have to establish minor version tracking system. ;->

Does your configuration end with an "end" statement? When I download it, there is an "end" statment at the end of configurations, but when I was editing the configuration, I uploaded only single line by selecting and right clicking it. I don't know how to incorporate the "end" statement into this operation.

Thanks for the valuable information. We are considering our own MPLS on top of ISP's, so we'll have SNMP access to the edge routers. What MPLS/VRF specific parameters would be most critical to monitor? Is it possible to monitor per VRF network traffic? How about Netflow?

As far as I can see. the changes are everywhere in the web console (events list, syslog messages, custom charts ...). I will be able to provide screenshots tomorrow. I have opened support ticket back for version 8.1 (#11557). Support team responded that the issue would be fixed in version 8.5, but unfortunately that was…

If it is always the same port then define the application using that port number and report on the app. Does that do it or did I miss something? I thought I'd see the application in the Top Applications NTA web resource (the amount of traffic is tens of GB every night). Actually, I see the flow, but it is marked with…

Can you open a Support ticket? Without more detail, we can't figure out exactly what's up. Actually it doesn't seem I can. Submit Form button does nothing (syntax error in Netsuite externalcasepage.nl) ;-(. I'll try tomorrow.Edit: I was successful today, case # 63919.

Current implementation is to have individual websites in IIS for NCM and NPM. This is accomplished by having unique ports for each of the sites. We have not tested or plan to support the virtual directory (subfolder) approach atleast in the initial release. Personally, I am thinking of using different ports for web sites…

We need permissions to access both the database and Windows Scheduler for jobs, which is why we always recommend using Administrator privileges. Our Cirrus database is on a separate server and the user is not an administrator on the DB server. I haven't sniffed the SQL connection string, but it seems it works just fine…

+1. I'm also experiencing numerous deadlocks. Could you also please share your customized last 50 events resource?

I currently have Xerox and HP printers and I send alerts to the supply custodian when the levels reach 5% so they will always have stock on hand. When the level of the ink, fuser catridges etc reached 1% the helpdesk receives an email How do you monitor supplies statuses? UnDP within NPM? How many printers do you have and…

Printer monitoring is something we hope to add as part of APM in a future release. See the following blog posting for more information. This would IMHO change the outline of your products. How do you plan to license the printer monitoring (e. g. Black cartridge status on one printer = 1 APM Monitor Licence)?

None of your suggestions actually worked, but you got me thinking in the right direction. Thanks. Today I learned the following. SNMP R/W community is needed for requesting configs. Everything worked in NCM 6.1, but after the upgrade node settings were obviously taken from NPM and SNMP R/W settings from NCM 6.1 were lost.…

Downloading configs on demand doesn't work either. Session tracing directory remains empty. Looks like it only traces Telnet/SSH sessions, while I try to download configs by using SNMP and TFTP.

Just enter an arbitrary value for password. Orion will not check it, because it will trust the operating system for authorization. IMHO the instructions in the documentation could be more intelligible and extensive on this matter.
-
Please open a support ticket on this one so we can track this appropriately. OK, it is case #67411. I was just thinking that making NCM more worldwide "compatible" is maybe already on the roadmap.

I am not sure how to do them all at once, but beware, after installing an NTA SP they are all reset to the default again :( Thanks for pointing this out. There is certainly room for improvement in management and monitoring multiple users features of Orion NPM and its modules. I have to check, if there is any existing…

Hi, perhaps I can add my prespective of understanding the Orion terms "polling" and "statistics collection". Orion in general gathers data from managed devices through protocols ICMP and SNMP. Message types can be echo (ping) for ICMP and GET (or get next or get bulk) for SNMP. The term "polling" refers to sending an echo…

Thanks for the suggestions. I've already read both documents and successfully migrated the database to the new hardware, following the guidelines from the second document. The migration of application server is still pending, until I am completely clear about benefits/drawbacks of standalone option for IPAM, UDT, APM, and…

So I better uninstall the AMv8 before I upgrade Orion NPM from version 8.5.1 to v9?What would happen, if I try to upgrade with AM installed? * Orion NMPv9 won't even install? * The installation will crash or Orion NPM will not work after installation? * Orion NPM v9 will work, but you cannot support it? Enough questions…

We'll track it as an enhancement request. If there are others interested, please chime in to help us prioritize. Please add me to the waiting list.
