Should we upgrade SAM 5.2 RC2 to GA?
-
Changing fetching method from WMI (WinRM\DCOM) to RPC for each process in the application template solved the issue for me.
-
Did you resolve this? I have similar problems. The process on Win10 workstation selected for monitoring through real-time process explorer and added to "Process monitor - Windows" (WMI) template is not found afterwards. The node is monitored normally through WMI, SAM credentials are inherited from the node (local…

Thanks for your reply. I am getting "Access denied." for the above Powershell command. I'm not sure, how to specify credentials in computer\user format. I've tried multiple combinations without success. In the same time I've been able to RDP to the remote server with the same user credentials and the user is a member of…

I was looking for a way to edit OOTB icons.

Hello, Ease of implementation and use was one of the reasons I chose Solarwinds Cirrus and Orion (especially over Ciscoworks). Therefore I must admit, I haven't spent much time and effort into RTFM and discovering advanced features (including Policy Reporter and Custom Macro). I hope, some day I'll get to it. O:-) But on…

You have understood my question quite right. I've been using "Execute Command Script" with pleasure for some time now and I was just looking for more convenient way to add number of devices, which haven't another common criteria, to it. It would be nice, if one could for example import device list from a text file and then…
-
Worked like a charm. Thanks. I've found 29 of them. Now, how to feed the results (hostnames) into Device List to execute command script on them. Is there an easy way? Best regards. Tomaz

The JobEngine directory under your NPMv7 directory belongs to APM. That's Job Engine 1.0. Job Engine 1.1 lives under Program Files\Common Files. They coexist side-by-side. Job Engine 1.0 is only used by APM 1.0. Orion 9.0 and EOC 1.0 both use Job Engine 1.1, as will APM 2.0. (Sorry for all that detail - I just wanted to…

Just based on what I'm reading in this thread, I believe that all you need to do to the database is drop the dbo.GetNetFlowDbVersion function. You can do that by running the following T-SQL Support helped me with the link to version 3.0 and the two-step installation was successful. I would rather not try dropping SQL…

Well, just an idea... If you have AD users in Orion (with AD passthrough authenitcation), you could probably restrict the access to the map backgound with NTFS permissions on the file system.

I am experiencing empty responses from yesterday again (only with Chrome on Windows platform). The incognito mode helped. Is this the suggested workaround? ;-<
-
Yesterday and today I didn't experience the empty responses, although I didn't get the chance to use Thwack heavily for a long period. The incognito mode (I'm using it now) doesn't seem to make any difference. I did notice that the page loads all content but the rolling icon on the tab indicates that it's still loading and…

I do not know for the moment, based on which registry key, database setting this warning message is triggered. I would advise you to open support ticket if the above suggestions did not help. I've deleted the DB table and both registry keys (in one of them were the traces of v 2.2.1.), but no luck. Our registry is quite…

I better then extend my maintenance period. ;-)) Best regards. Tomaz

I was on version 10.1.3 before the upgrade and it worked. Now there is a couple of new custom properties to search by, but no machine type.

I don't mean to throw fuel in the fire, but are you pinging nodes via ICMP within Orion NCM? I had some problems with this in previous versions. Do you mean node monitoring? I tried to disable it, but it didn't help.

+1 for progress indicator on subnet scans. We have hundreds of /20 subnets (don't ask ;>),
-
You will have to wait the Service Pack 2, the issue is fixed in that one. I will notify you with through the case I have with you once SP2 will be released. OK, thanks. I can wait.

Has anyone heard if Orion will every support Domain Group Authenication so you do not have to set every user up individually? It would make adding users easier if you could just add them to a group which would have default views and permissions. Thanks Add more information about user activity from Orion System to that.…

Hi, does this mean that I could disable named pipes in SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration? I've enable it during the Orion setup, because I received potentially misleading error message about connection to the DB in Configuraton Wizard. After I'd enabled named pipes, the connection has been successful, but maybe it…

I wasn't sure that this one is for licensed version.

IPAddressGroups, ServicePorts, TransportProtocols, TypesOfService You can delete these tables and try to re-run the configuration wizard. Deleting these tables didn't help. The message of Configuration Wizard is the same I am not sure for the table PortsProtocol...I could not find it in any database here. Could you check…

At times, when Chrome didn't work, I've been using MSIE without problems.

You might try putting the lines you want to upload and add the "end" statement to see if that results in the same behavior. I will certainly try this, but this way is not so handy as simply right clicking the edited line and selecting the upload. The additional "end" should also have to be deleted before saving the edited…

Sorry, this setting doesn't seem to be enough. SSH doesn't work for non-administrator users regardless of this setting.
-
I created the button as instructed. It is there for all users, but it works only for administrators. I would like it to work for all users with SSH Access enabled. Is this possible? Thanks.
-
It's on the list, but nothing I can commit to time frame wise, if you want to see what is actively being worked on see here According to some statistics the world could run out of free public IPv4 addresses in about 700 days, so it is to expect a IPv6 hype when this is about to happen. Thanks for the list of what you are…

I share your thoughts about Last 50 Events resource. Thank you very much for the query. I'll try to adapt it for my needs.

Hello, perhaps I should try to illustrate the situation from another perspective, which could probalby point out a kind of inconsistency in Orion's behaviour. Please see four pictures showing excatly the same events and syslog messages, once as displayed locally on the Orion NPM server and once as displayed in Orion Web…
