I'm resurrecting an old thread but it helped me so I wanted to clarify a point that it took me a little bit to work out. I couldn't figure out how to assign the variables for ${vbdata1}, ${vbdata2}, etc till I looked at my unformatted trap output. I wanted my email messages to come with a header to tell me the Node Name…

I agree that making backups of the originals before they're modified is an excellent idea but I came into this company to replace the Orion administrator. I suspect others will/have find themselves in a similar situation which is why Mav's posting of the default resources is so valuable. I suspect this thread will…

Thanks Mav. I'll fly your wing any time!

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Mav! Is there any chance you could add screen shots from the Network Summary Home page and the Interface Details pages too? I think that'll give us a good baseline to return to when we need to. Oh, and if you were able to put all 3 screen shots in the same reply then I can…

As of The 2017 version can be found here: https://support.solarwinds.com/@api/deki/files/10235/OrionNetworkAtlasAdminGuide.pdf

The only answer I've received is to check out the demo copy of Orion that SolarWinds has online. Unfortunately that copy is heavily locked down. They understandably don't want us modifying the page layouts but this has the unfortunate side affect that we can't view the list of resources on each page. I still don't have a…

I have case # 285615 open for this issue. I sent a diag yesterday at 5:26pm and emailed the tech to let him know it was waiting. When I hadn't heard back by this morning at 10:11am CST I sent another email asking for a status update but have yet to even get the confirmation email that my diags have been downloaded from the…

What would this look like from the Web Console? @Cvachovec or @onewatcher? Has anyone had success backing up Linux configs using any of SolarWinds tools recently? Thanks!

Hey Mav, My goal is to determine why my peers (at work) think that my nodes for New York, Milwaukee, Canada, and the Internet (8.8.4.4) are all going down at the same time. I think I finally narrowed the issue down to an edge device that is rebooting so that some or all of these devices go down randomly but come back up…

Crystal, Thanks for the suggestion. I went into the online demo but discovered that the features to edit the different web pages have been disabled for the demo version. I guess I'll have to install a demo version to pull this data ... I'm just surprised that this info isn't out there somewhere. I know I'm not the first…

I would guess that the issue was that he didn't have spaces around his ${CRLF} statements. Notice that his tftp server thought his address was "10.2.6.250${CRLF}y${CRLF}" not 10.2.6.250. I suspect he fixed this by editing his statement to read: copy running-config tftp G450config.cfg 10.2.6.250 ${CRLF} y ${CRLF}

Thanks Pacetti. That fixed the issue immediately. :)

I am trying to prove to our network monitoring team that Orion v10.0 is old. Does anyone have a table that shows the different sub-versions of v10 and the dates they were released? In particular, it would be handy if I could say "See ... v10.1 was released January of 2010, so we're 2.3 years old at this point!" Thanks.

I have a similar question/issue. I'm receiving traps and would like to get more info in the messages I receive. In my case, sometimes I receive down interface alerts about interfaces we aren't monitoring. When the alert comes in, I'd like to know the interface name and its description so that if I see this alert repeatedly…

The Time of Event in the left hand column of your screen shot is different for your two alerts (1:12 PM vs 5:02 AM) but both alerts agree that the reboot occurred on Jan 20 at 5 AM. I wonder if you have two polling engines whose clocks are not in sync.

I'm also having this issue. I've opened a support case and will look for other answers on Thwack.
