As you already have NTA 3.1 installed, is enough for you to install only 3.1 SP2. Please download it here: ftp://ftp.solarwinds.net/NetFlow/ServicePack/Netflow3.1-SP2.zip This service pack requires Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 3.1 (Orion NTA 3.1). To install this service pack, extract and then run the…

Tom, It's tracked under #290830 thanks

Hi there! I need community help here. To speed up investigation of Huawei support, can anyone provide packet capture (e.g. using WireShark utility - www.wireshark.org) containing NetStream traffic from some of Huawei devices with default configuration? 15-20 minutes should be enough, longer - better :) If someone can help…
-
tao_lao, please can you provide screen-shots with configuration of our custom applications and screen-shot of resource where you see traffic duplication thanks
-
Kiwi, here the short and informative article from Cisco that should point you where to start from: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk543/tk545/technologies_tech_note09186a0080114326.shtml please don't hesitate to ask if there will be any questions. SolarWinds community is the only one who can help you better than google :)…

srednia, do you have active maintenance? 3.0 version is old and the latest public version in 3.6 - you can download it under Customer portal. thanks
-
ecklerwr1, awesome. Your answer as always brilliant. thanks
-
Chuckle, it should own title "Geek's switch" :)

JustBen, you can enable persistent client host name resolving under Admin -> NTA Settings -> DNS and NetBIOS Resolution -> DNS Resolution (Persistent) Please be aware that this feature increases load on your NTA and SQL server as it resolves all new incoming IP addresses and stores information to the SQL database. Learn…
-
bbusbay, let me clarify 2 things here: 1. you can't really verify this for Demo server as we intensionally allow persistent customization there. 2. Issue occurs only when you click refresh button to see changes immediately (confirmed issue that Andy mentioned above). As workaround it's enough to use Submit button so you'll…

justinh, oh, I see. It should be fixed now. thanks

rporzig, when you drill down to the Interface details view and add Top XX IP Address Groups resource, you'll have amount of bytes transferred by each group in the table below chart than you'll have to manually calculate percentage for each group from total traffic. Does this have sense for your case? thanks
-
Simone, Got it. I see all you cases in tracking system, so I’ll continue working with you through it. NPM 10.2.2 Hotfix solves problem with polling stopped randomly under particular circumstances and won’t be useful in your case. I share the pain you have because of current issues and will do my best to guide your case to…

Hi Tao Lao, this is correct behavior. As each pair (Source port + Destination port) defines only one application, in your case only small part of traffic has ingress port that belongs to defined application. If you switch your view to display Egress traffic, you should see rest of the traffic. thanks,
-
weird, can you please clarify this: - does selected interface works in full-duplex mode? - please can you post screen-shot of Top XX Protocols in Both/Ingress/Egress modes - post the netflow config for selected interface/router thanks
-
xbod, I'll pass this to NPM team. To speed up investigation of this case, please open support ticket. thanks
-
Jordinho, just to clarify. You can find settings for configuring NetFlow Database maintenance under Admin -> NTA Settings -> Database maintenance settings. By default Database maintenance is executed at 1:30 AM thanks
-
aaron_daniels, I knew that would be tricky :) Here the post that describes our compression schema and appropriate database tables. Unfortunately there are tight dependencies between flow date time, compression algorithm and particular Summary tables. To avoid problems with reporting and NTA storage, I would strongly…

and you don't have to If you are customer under active maintenance, you should be able to download NPM 10.3 under your customer portal now!

Simone, another option is more a hack and IS NOT officially supported by SolarWinds. I strongly recommend to backup your database before doing such experiments. So here are unsupported steps that should help you to get what you requested: 1. You should manually duplicate proper Node in database table dbo.Nodes (e.g. via…

Hmm, then there is not much I can suggest here without deeper investigation. Please feel free to open support ticket in case this behavior cause problems for you. thanks
-
Hi Spiky, if you have active maintenance, please contact SolarWinds support so they can give you NetFlow cleanup tool, that will automatically remove all NTA evidences from your system and database. thanks
-
Ciscoman, just to clarity: you entered Y as a choice, but utility hanged and doing nothing? Did you run it with Administrator privileges, does system has UAC on? thanks UPDATE: I've just realized that this tool requires you to enter capitalized Y. I agree that that's quite weird, but that should do the magic.

trinitron, I've attached screenshot of NetFlow packet decoded by WireShark. You can see that for taht packet Input interface index = 2 and Output interface index = 1. You can capture your netflow traffic at NTA box using WireShark and check that data is exported with correct SNMP indexes. To filter packets that have both…

Dear kmonq, feel free to open new ticket and add old ticket number to description of new one explaining that problem re-occured. thanks

Hi jmay, this document about NPM Server migration may not answer 100% of your questions, but still should be useful for you - http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/orion/docs/OrionServerMigration.pdf
-
Hi ecklerwr, please can you explain which problems you have with using Orion Report Scheduler an NTA pages? It works fine for me though. thanks
-
Stuart, there is now UI option right now to edit time interval for this chat on Custom Object Resource (COR). It's possible though if you don't afraid to modify your DB manually (and make backup of it before the modification). Here are steps you need to do: * Add needed chart to the COR with Today timeframe and needed Node…

Folks, good news is that we've found hopefully acceptable workaround here: you need to run this query against your Orion Database. Please notice that this action requires additional skills working with database, so it's highly recommended to open support ticket if you have any doubts about how to do this. UPDATE…

Thanks for your feedback folks. I've captured this in out tracking system as case 80661
