I had a similar need a while back, specific to virtual hosts. Normal hardware information is stored in the Nodes table like everything else, but the virtual thing is a bit of a mystery. My gut feeling is that it checks for the presence of virtualisation markers (e.g. vmware-tools, MAC address, registry entries) and some of…

I was looking more for a SAM template so I coud effect availabiltiy via traps.
-
That did it! Thanks very much for the help. I'm surprised it didn't indicate that in the job log. In any case that worked.
-
I'd recommend a Support ticket on this one.
-
It's not that this would necessarily break APM, but we can't promise that we won't break what you've done with an update.
-
I believe I've partly figured out my problem. It seems that because it's polling a table, it won't create a gauge for the results.
-
You'll need to upgrade to 8.5.1 first. Please contact Support, and they'll get a copy of 8.5.1.
-
Unfortunately, it's not possible to group by other options in APM 2.0, but in the next version (1st half of 09), we'll provide many more grouping options.

I solved directly with Solarwinds Support which gave me a LicenseReset.zip Thank to everybody

I then changed the SNMP from v1 to v2, managed it and the node went into an Unknown State. Unmanaged again, changed it back to SNMP v2, added the interface from the node resources, then managed it again. The node came up and the interface cleared... kind of - now there are two interfaces showing with the same SNMP ifIndex.…

We have some of the same things happening- many of our apps will "restart" even though we know that they technically have not. I wondered if it had anything to do with the process ID number being changed... One thing we did to work around the situation was to disable "log start/stop events on this application"...when…

Path Analysis - Path used from source till destination and vice versa for checking asymmetric routing. Orion can only poll from the Orion server, which I think answers your question. Reports regarding EOL/EOS and PSIRT report for the PSIRT details, Announced date, Description , Severity, IOS Version (s) impacted, Image…

Hi klc2009, Have you watched this video on account limitations? Maybe you can get some helpful insights from it.
-
It's been 6 years. Do you all have this capability now. If so, how do I do it?
-
An interface is marked "unmanaged"? Can you post a screenshot?
-
Same thing here, thanks for the details it help
-
Which version of Orion are you using?
-
We'll look into that. Thank you.

I have read through this thread and I don''t see why this is a Cisco bug. They return a threshold value of 0 when there is no threshold or it is N/A. This makes perfect sense. Why can't Solarwinds simply interpret it as such and stop alarming when it receives a 0? Case closed. Why would you ever want a threshold of 0?…

Have you also tried to recreate your vmware credentials in NPM: Admin\settings\virtualization settings\vmware credentials library I have two account in there, one is the vmware account for the ESX servers and the other is a domain account for login onto vcenter

Hey Paul I'm running 5.5 on around 10 servers without problems - Have you edited snmp.xml on each server? --Mark

Any Cisco device will be poll-able by Orion. Standard stats like interface ultization will be polled automatically. If you have specific needs for statistics that aren't out of the box, you can use the Universal Device Poller to capture those. It can also aggregate data from several sources using the Transform function.

Sounds like a great new feature, but I'm not sure I can justify the downtime to install another module across all our pollers and additional for a product that requires such expensive licensing. To be really useful we'll need to deploy to all our users of Orion and at that level ETS that would cost more than the licensing…

Try this in your test environment chrislee1107@gmail.com Action Rule: Evaluate Criteria: only when updated by a tech When criteria evaluation results in a match, apply action: only if criteria did not match before the Ticket was updated Criteria: Tickets Matching All of these conditions * Escalation level >= 2 * Status is…
-
If I am understanding your situation correctly, why not just enable "Include in My/Group Tickets Filter" for the "Working" status type. So, a tech would set status to working, escalate, and the ticket would be immediately visible in the tech's My Tickets and Group Ticket views.
-
If I understand your question and the product correctly, it is licensed in two ways; per server and per user. Per server, anyone who has access to the server can use the tools on the server. Per user (seats), you must have a license for each individual user who wants to use the tools via the Orion Web. I believe you only…

In 9.0, this feature is broken, and won't work the way you need it to. In 9.1, it's been fixed and has a syntax much closer to pre-9.0. Instead of referencing chart.asp, you be referencing chart.aspx. You'll once again be able to do a 'View Source' and copy out the image links.
-
The error message is saying that you can't connect to the server. Given that you can reach it within the LAN, it seems like you have a permissions problem.
-
Orion Syslog doesn't support TCP listening, but Kiwi Syslog does. You could listen via the Kiwi Syslog server and forward as UDP to Orion.
-
I'd also love this, especially if I could "pick" an interface to send a trap for i.e. the WAN links only. Dave
