I am starting to think that this is an issue of they cant/dont want to fix this enough to compete with IPAM which is the product they want you to buy sepatatly to get all these nice bells and whisles. 

 Alterego is correct. We can't monitor Exchange queues in v1, but we're planning to provide a more generic WMI monitor in the next version of APM. Which version of Exchange are you using; MSFT made some big changes w/r/t WMI in 2007.

 All variables are documented in the AG, both APM and NPM.

When you say Critical and Warning, are you looking at APM alerts? Or IPSLA?

I had the same problem. I had to provide credentals with administrative (not read only) priv. I also had to open a case with SolarWinds. Apparently the install of NCM did not complete successfully. All my downloads hung in "Initializing" state forever.

I find creating multiple discoveries that run sequentially works best. I usually go with about five subnets per discovery if there is a lot going on in the subnets.

No, they're 3500XL's. They don't have the newer stackwise stuff that the 3750's do. They use the stack cables on the front that take up a gbic slot.

Drew, I acomplished something like this by using 3 CP's, Normal, Warning, and High and wrote a SQL job to check the circuit utilization and populate the appropriate CP. I couldn't agree more. All three of those items are top priority features for APM.

1. Yes. It is a manual process because owners of the rules must be contacted to verify they are still needed. I have the same issue, just with Kiwi CatTools instead of Syslog, so it appears it's maybe something to do with the update module that I'm sure they both share. Your workaround works for CatTools as well. I opened a case with Solarwinds and they've passed it on to the developers for them to troubleshoot.

I split this out into a new discussion. You can back up the virtual appliance as a whole with a snapshot or other VMware/Hyper-V backup solution. With the IIS connectors, you can have it go back and read old files by pointing it at an old file, not just the directory itself. Word of caution, though, it will read every file up to the current file, so it may duplicate data if you've had it on. Otherwise, all connectors read from now-forward to keep it safe.
