You can either use a domain, or you can create a user on the EOC server. Then use the EOC server as the domain.

Have you opened a Support ticket on this one?

This KB might help: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How many days of live data will the LEM database store?

We'll probably need to see more in the configurations of the Alert, namely in the "Trigger Actions" tab. I suspect there is an inadvertent duplication of the notification action in there somewhere.

Kicked myself with this one since it is so basic, but here is what I have used, although not entirely accurate, it has given me a more complete list, regardless of the false positives. In my eyes if the machine type is not getting polled SNMP is probably failing since most of our devices are common enough to have this OID…

It would probably look like: NewDomainMember EXISTS AND DeleteDomainMember EXISTS AND NewDomainMember.DestinationAccount = DeleteDomainMember.DestinationAccount within time/response window 24 hours (The first two lines with the EXISTS are redundant to the third but help you see what's going on.) The downside of this is you…

What interfaces are you monitoring ? I just started playing with the Eval copy of the wireless monitor and added several access points. Most started providing data instantly, but a few didn't. It turned out that the ones that didn't provide data had sub-interfaces being monitored but not that main radio interfaces. Once i…

Did you make any changes to the original keystore file? Once you add the ca reply to the self signed cert, it should turn into a trusted ssl cert. Best thing I can think of is that, you added the ca reply but did not save changes once you added it to the keystore. What type of ca reply are you using?

This was resolved. User had not configured his ActiveClient card reader in FF. Once he did problem was solved. Thanks!

We keep an eye on this question to see what we can integrate with natively, but so far haven't heard much of it. We have had some people import feed info via CSVs to User-Defined Groups to use in correlation rules or filters, but so far that's about it (and it's somewhat infrequent or vague). Maybe some others will chime…

We are actually planning to provide the ability to run a script in the next release. That would allow you to do everything you've mentioned it.

i succeded with the advance alerts. I had to install the patch, put once this was done, it woked, i created a alert based on my custom MIB.
-
Can you open a ticket about the SAN? If we have a bug where we're polling the wrong MIB or some other bug, we'd like to know and rectify the situation.

Turn the SNMP Service on each server on and tick all snmp fields on the Citrix farm.

Orion 8.1 does not support Windows 2000. We actively block it most of the time, but there are some cases where an upgrade from 7.8 to 8.1 incorrectly allows install to proceed on Windows 2000. Upgrade your OS to Windows Server 2003, run repair, re-run the config wizard. The problem should be fixed.

So as it has been three years since this post has this been fixed in the product? I am looking to create a report to check the SNMP status for all devices so I can see if any of them are failing polls. I have looked at the columns in the Nodes table and i do not see anything that seems to make any sense. Thanks, Joe

did you ever get anywhere with this?
-
You are correct, closing the parent will close the children.

Great post. We have some of those ports as templates. One thing that is coming in the next release is that thwack templates will actually be viewable, sortable, and searchable from within the product. So if the community starts building templates from this list (hint), they'll all be available in the product when 3.0…

I just did this here : Rebuilding a Solarwinds Monitoring Environment. – www.acmtix.com Biggest concern for me was managing my users during downtime and making sure the environment I was building would do the job without causing any problems to vmware hosts it was running on and that the database had enough space to grow…

I'm taking a look at why the y-axis is very detailed for one chart(hence the decimal places), but not for another. If there is a way for you to override this behavior, I'll let you know.

mate you want to check your database server, check for CPU, RAM, disk usage, and then check physical read queues and physical write queues on ALL LUNS, especially the logs LUN... i don't think you need a second poller yet, unless you have a load of universal pollers or APM, as i am not sure if they are included int he…

Thanks. I'll take that as a feature request.

The IIS 7 connector should work for 8. We've had previous discussions on getting it to work, though (one such thread, Is IIS 8 supported yet? If not, is there a way to make it work?). We're working on making it more reliable out of the box. The keys to getting it to work reliably seem to be: * Enable all fields to log to…

Wanted to confirm, we have a service release in progress that includes many security-oriented changes/fixes. The tomcat versions in that release are: 6.0.41 (console) and 6.0.37 (database/reports access). We have ran nessus scans that come up clean, but not sure about other scanners, since as you said they could be only…

Yes, we do. We also have a list of mitigation/comments on how or whether different vulnerabilities even apply to LEM if you want us to respond to anything specific. Our version of Tomcat is patched, so if it's just by version string alone it may not be accurate. We know it'll still trip some things, though.

Hi, I'm getting this error as well from a Basic alert. Where do I need to go to amend the SQL syntax thats mentioned in the answers? I'm hoping I don't have to edit the interface names of loads of firewalls and switches. Thanks Jason

Hey Jimmy, Since the LEM Agent runs as a 32-bit service (in SysWOW64), we won't see anything as true 64-bit. All of my 64-bit systems say x86 as well. We'll want to get a feature request in for detecting beyond that, and I'll check with our (super) InfoDev team about creating a knowledgebase article so others get the…

It's an oversight. I've got it on my list for a future version.

Ditto what vhcato and NG said. We're still running v7.8.5 and waiting on a stable 8.1 .
