We just upgraded today as well and are experiencing this exact issue. Tried running the configuration wizard again, licenses are fine and still same result. I also have a case open. Any other thoughts in the meantime?

Ermagerd, I didn't even think of this. I'm creating views and accounts for people and didn't account for max logins. Thank you!

After talking to others who work with databases, they suggested that I ask for the data definition file. Which is what I actually did ask for, the layout of all the tables or the properties and the data that is stored in each table. Would that be possible?

Depending on your point of view, one bug fix, enhancement, or improvement, we found was NPM 10.3 "Export to PDF" on Events view now exports events selected using custom option. When we selected events for custom period using NPM 10.1.3, they displayed on web page but when we exported them to PDF events for current day…

The SolarWinds' Support told me as below: Exactly there is no new added features to the PDF Function just improvements.

Perfect, that worked for me too. Thanks for your help!

Robertp, I actually found the problem. Our banner was causing the issue, it appears that it needs a space before the motd banner and after it. So I used rancid which doesn't seem to care to update all the nodes that weren't working :). and it worked after that.

I am seeing the same thing with a few of my devices. Anyone have any ideas on this?

I had this issue. It turned out to be a problem in the Alert Suppression setup. Apparently, Alert Suppression rules don't work the same as trigger conditions. I had set up a rule not to alert is the device names were "abc" or "xyz", and it turned out that rule meant to suppress the alert if a device name of "abc" or "xyz"…

to be clear: where are you seeing the authentication failures? if it is in the traps area then the error isnt on the server it it the distant device you are trying to poll. to verify the snmp is correct go to the node view hit edit node then click on the test button below the snmp setup area. green = good and yellow means…
-
Not today, but we're planning that for a future release. You should be able to do that in the alerts, though.

What I was hoping to do is setup an external site like www.google.com and poll port 80 for HTTP. If our proxy experiences trouble solarwinds would alert on port 80 for www.google.com. berto, We are doing similar polling through our proxy and wondering if you can help me. I can poll www.google.com and other web sites…

Unfortunately, no. We don't have that available, and with the way our DB set up you won't get anything interesting from the SQL feature you're referring to. It won't show any relationships.

i asked a similar thing some time ago mate and got no where i went off and tried to make it more secure myself, where i removed the URL field froma published IE window. the problem is, you can not stop Orion popping out new windows at certain points in the product. i asked for that to be sorted too but again got no…

I've been asked to monitor an AC unit. I don't want to spend gobs of time making trap rules on this particular device and since you can't test fire these it is a bit confusing on what values are returned. If I understand correctly you will have to create a rule for each trap variable you need? Is there a way to display the…

When filtering Events, there should be a search field to filter it even more. For example, if several interfaces on a node creates Events, you can use the search field to show just one of the interfaces. (Just like in Syslog messages really) Good idea. Major upgrade of Map Maker. Especially the icons that (graphics) that…

Click on the chart and you can customize it.

be aware that the pollers speak direct with the database so they need to be close to it also. however, you can have firewall between the pollers and the DB as long as the latency is very very low, as the amount of writes causes a very intensive network usage. do not even think about using old or over utilised network…

In the Orion install folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds\Orion) there is a tool called LogAdjuster.exe that will let you change the logging levels of various programs/modules. For retention I believe you would have to change the logging manually. Each executable that Orion runs has an associated .config file,…

Response window is especially relevant for two things: * Correlating MULTIPLE types of events with each other.* Response window says "these events need to happen within this period of time to each other" * or in the case of a not exists rule, "if you haven't seen this event after waiting this period of time since the other…

No, just add your user to the WSUS-Administrator group on the WSUS server. That's all.

I have some advice for your situation that I'll pass on in a bit, but for everyone following this thread I wanted to pass on that the release candidate of our service release is available that includes this fix (among others). If any you are interested in trying method of deployment out instead, let me know (fully…

The FIRST thing to do is to deploy the LEM 6.0 hotfix to affected systems. I'm not sure if any of you reported a support ticket, but if you did, it should have pointed you there. You can find the hotfix on the portal, or here: http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/HotFix/LEM-v6.0.0-HotFix1.zip This hotfix does…

Welcome to the group.... we have yet to get it to work. :(

Hmm, interesting. Two possibilities: * Try it with wildcards - *Denied* * Try building the search directly in nDepth to see if it yields different results than filter send to nDepth

OID repository - {iso(1) identified-organization(3) dod(6) internet(1) private(4) enterprise(1) 22978} And the last few lines of your walk show OIDs registered to GridConnect. My guess is that those 0 values indicate a "normal" status with 1-? indicating levels of status for various aspects that the gridconnect module is…

From their website: Where can I find the mib file for the device? The mib file for the device can be found in the help CD, under the directory: \akcp_utilities\mib\

I'll take this as a feature request, but in the meantime, it should be do-able with editing of the SQL. Maybe you could post what you've got and the rest of the Thwack community could help.

APM 3.0 solves this problem. You can download the Release Candidate for APM from your customer portal today, if you'd like.

The first time the spop.conf is created - when installing the agent - you provide it in the installer prompts. If your agent is installed in an image, it's probably been saved with the image, and you need to update the image's spop.conf (or create a new image). The certificate files are only created AFTER first connect…
