  • As an update to the above post, there are NO items under the alert suppression tab on the configured alert. I have seen the following error in the AlertServiceLog: *** SolarWinds Alerting Engine v2011.2.0.0, .Net Runtime v2.0.50727 ***2012-10-19 09:51:25,187 [MainTaskThread] INFO All - Alert Engine Starting. Running…
  • If these are Windows, then the answer is that we are summing up the utilization across all the processes and thus including virtual memory and getting over 100% memory utilization.
  • I'm not sure I understand the question. Can you give an example of what you're trying to accomplish?
  • Hi jaime.carvajal, You should check this Orion guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/orionplatform/default.htm#cshid=orioncoreagcreatingnewadvancedalert… Also, the Library & Support page for NPM can be useful whenever you need documentation and guidance: Network Performance Monitor (NPM) - Updated…
  • Generally it happens because this is (unfortunately) literally what's happening at the Windows level. We are looking at what kind of event consolidation we could do in the future, but it's tricky to figure out what's noise and what's legitimately a second copy/delete/create type event. :/ Some applications seem to be…
  • You can change this behavior in Web Console settings.
  • Take a look at 1.3.6.1.4.1.3097 in the ORION MIB database. There are a number of OIDs for the BoVPN connections... However I have not found a single OID providing a status such as that seen in the device manager. (Active|| Inactive || Expired) Let me know if you find one..... EX: From the manual. VPN Tunnel Status and…
  • We've certainly considered it, but the key phrase in your question is this: "As it stands now I don`t see push for this but Im people would use it if it was available." I've asked customers, but the response has been lukewarm at best. You're implying that if we build it, they will come. With our limited resources, we tend…
  • Did your device's IP address change, by any chance? The fact that it fixed when you touched it suggests that the info in the APM tables might have gotten out of sync with the Orion info. It gets fixed if you touch the application because its updated when you touch it. That's a known issue that we'll repair in a SP.
  • Bryan, We most definitely have a booth. We'll be setting it up today (Monday), and it'll be open to everyone on Tuesday-Thu. Please come by and say hello. All of the product management team will be there. Denny
  • Have you tried using SQL Management Studio? You should be able to build a query to get this information using it. You can then take that query and use it in whatever powershell script you write.
  • Update to this. Some of it can be fixed by filtering that message (I don't care that an ASA blocked a UDP packet, etc). The last one we still have issues with is a Cisco IPCC server. These packets throw the syslogservice error on Orion - but - the Syslog Server on the Engineer's Toolset handles them just fine. If I send…
  • Hey duncan.murray@capita.co.uk, Check out TCP Connection Count thread, I hope the information there will help you somehow.
  •  It all depends on which specific MIBs are supported in the device. Have you tried downloading the evaluation of the module and pointing it at your device?
  • You can schedule un-manage and re-manage. Recurrence is something we'll add in the future.
  • I'm having trouble seeing downloads available for the products we purchased. Ever since the website update I have yet to be able to find service packs for NCM.
  • Bump! i would love to see this feature
  • I have recently attempted to implement this NCMSAConnector utility with no luck in getting a valid report to complete. I've used this forum to help troubleshoot many of the issues I've experienced along the way, but now I am unable to continue troubleshooting as even the log does not give me any information on issues the…
  • It's used for all communication from appliance to browser (or appliance to AIR console if using the installed app). It is NOT used for agent to appliance communication or reports console to database communication.
  • It's more likely a problem with your desktop system than with the appliance (the good news?) - what language setting do you have? Have you changed your date formatting on your system to something different than your language settings normally have?
  • Can someone provide a clear path forward for the following issue: UserID is invalid I contacted TAC, but they closed my ticket. I can connect to my NCM server, but cannot outbound. Does this use some kind of certificate? We have SSL inspection enabled, and that could be the problem.
  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but are these customizations in ASP classic? If so, then yes. There is some tweaking that you need to do in order to get them to work right with 8.5 I don't know what all you have done, but depending on what it is, you will likely need to modify the legacyproxy.config file in order to run the…
  • I think there's been some confusion. VBscript will work with .Net Frame 3.0. The two aren't related.
  • A text file monitor would be an APM feature. What exactly do you mean? Do want to search the contents of a text file and alert based on the presence or absence of certain text? Or what?
  • We had this issue in 10.3.1. While I can't say that our rebuild of NPM on 10.4 was a direct fix for the problem, they do state that their are topology polling fixes in 10.4. Also, you need to make sure that at least Layer 2 topology polling is turned on in "List Resources". Even further than that, if you are not in control…
  • One way: Windows does have some default triggers that fire when the disk is "approaching capacity". You can adjust the threshold (I think by default it's 10% free?) in the registry and it'll fire sooner. Another way: If you set up a Performance Trigger to log to the Application Log, LEM will pick that up, and you could…
  • One possibility - the logon used cached credentials. Look for "Cached Interactive Logon" in addition to "Remote Interactive Logon".
  • The LEM appliance listens for SSH on port 32022 instead of 22, so that might be your first thing to validate (easy mistake). If you haven't done a "restrictssh" on the appliance (off by default - that lets you whitelist only certain IPs), my next guess would be that their forward/reverse DNS might not match. Sometimes we…
  •  You can set an alert for any number of Node fields (e.g., name) and say Alert if empty.
  • I am having the same Complete with Errors - KTN Pending error too. I have tried using my CCO id and my Manager's and both received the same error after 94/150 devices processed. We both have Customer Administrator and Customer User for the Smartnet Total Care Service. I can also view my assets that are covered by our Cisco…
