under the trigger condition tab select custom node poller add simple condition 'Poller Name is equal to xupsenvampienttemp' add simple condition status is greater than 35 this will work but its a bit more complicated if you only want to select a sub set of nodes Andy

Try this link.

With 9.0, we started using UTC time for the status and statistics(on Universal Device Pollers). I'm pretty sure this is what you are seeing.
-
if you deleted it and then added it back real quick then the issue could be an issue i have seen with pollers still polling after the delete was issued. I have had interfaces re-added after i deleted them due to this. Best bet is to delete the interfaces and wait a bit to see if they actually stay gone, then do as guy…

. A 'Tiered alerting' where if you cannot get past the core switch(its down or unreachable) , do not alert on the devices beyond it. If you can get past the switch, but not past the firewall, alert on that but not all the nodes in your remote sites. And so on. I had this problem before hand and brought it up only to be…

That's how it works today. It should beep when a new alert appears, but not beep on refresh. Is that not what you're experiencing?

bump... Can anyone at SW answer this? I have auditors nipping at me and I don't want to have to disable source-routing if it is going to break the ability for Voip Monitor to function.

Hi christkg, Your thwack ID is christkg. I suppose you are asking about the monthly mission, right? You can also use your name or email, but ideally, you should use your ID. Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Got to speak with my sales guy who grabbed a tech support person two little entries in hosts file and life is good... good to go now on both things.

Is the SQL server being rebooted at the same time? I have run into issues where the delay in SQL coming up has caused similar failures.

Sorry just forgot, I have requested the Sys. admins to increase the memory last week, actually its running on 8GB, Thanks,

Hi Driskell, I have 4GB dedicated just for the Application as no DB installed on the same server, I have the DB on remote server, the memory utilization is not exceeding the 3.5GB, always I have 1GB free in the Task Manager, is it ok or I have to add more memory, I'm running ORION on VM, easly I can add more memory right…

Compairing with yours, seem my server is wasting time in doing something other than getting data fromt he DB, seems like timeout issue or waiting for something:(

Its a fresh installation, OS and all ORION modules just reinstalled 5 hours ago trying to solve this issue and other issue as well, I have pointed the modules to the same DB, also I have updated the OS with the latest updates, so what could be the OS issue?? I have an active case with SolarWinds team, they have connected…

This is a feature we would like to see added also. We are starting to deploy Nexus switches and need to be able to monitor certain elements that are not available through SNMP.

The NetPerfMonservice.exe is single-threaded.

I went through that a long time ago. It's a piss-poor fix, but open the Configure Basic Alerts window - uncheck the box for that alert (disable it), and then recheck it (enable it) and close the window. Aaron

I agree with bbosley - use the Last Boot property. I monitor this on many devices to watch for reboots. For the most part I just have an email sent when a device reboots. If it's a critical device I send a text message to my phone. Aaron

From what I have seen the server will send a trap if instructed to do so as soon as it finishes re-boot that it did re-boot.

Hey pseudocyber, Yes, that link is actually sending you directly to the video you need to watch, in your case being Finding the Needle in the "AppStack": Troubleshooting Application Performance. As you can see in the link, there's trk1-2 which means second video for track 1 (as thwackCamp was organized in 2 tracks). When…

Check out the Engines table in your DB. I'm guessing 'Community' will still be listed there as one of the engines. Support should be able to walk you through the steps to correct it pretty quickly. I away from my desk at the moment, so I don't have the steps handy, otherwise I'd post them directly.

I take it that the more often you poll a device the more likely you'll spot issues OR does it, just take stats produced internally by the switch/router. In other words what does increasing/decreasing the polling frequency actually do ? ICMP polling is a regular ping. If we get no reply on a ping, we go into a fast polling…

It can't be disabled. You can run it manually and watch it. Then let it run on its own, where it won't have much to do.

Yes, Longhorn Server is something on our radar. Microsoft has not even shipped the final beta. Given how much they change code between beta versions, there's really nothing we can even work with yet. Microsoft has not announced a firm release date. They are saying late 2007, but it might slip into 2008. Denny LeCompte Sr.…
