I'd like to know too.

As it turns out, the SWIS Query test page does not support the square root function. Visiting http://<yourserver>/Orion/Admin/swis.aspx and entering SELECT SQRT(1.00), SQRT(10.00) will not work. It works fine in alert actions and custom variable assignment though.

Steve, did you ever get this working? If so, what was the issue(s) stopping you? padapa

You're right. I have to configure the SNMP service to make it possible to add in Orion. Thanks.

a ticker would be great!!! though i would love to see it as an option on the Orion console, but also on the EOC...

How can we set community string on a Windows 2003 Server?
-
Hi saroopmalhi, Did you check in Admin -> Manage views if there are any limitations on the view itself? Kind regards, Maria

I can we set community string on the 2003 server?

Would the "Groups and Group Members" report work for you? You could always set it to export into excel, thats half the battle, someone else should be able to tell you how to display your dynamic query alongside the group.
-
tapesh, It depends on how many elements you are trying to monitor and how much total available bandwidth. When I asked our SEs, they commented that they've advised different customers in different directions depending on circumstances. Are you considering a purchase? or do you already own Orion? Can we get an SE to help…

Correct.

You modify the grouping of the report in Report Writer and then save it.
-
Greg, The first time you load a specific type of web page, it will be slower. After that, it will perform better. That's just a side-effect of using ASP.net. Denny

I would say just go to the devices you no longer want to monitor and remove the template from them once you are ready to start again them re-apply it
-
you give some of the stats for the server but not all of them so will take a swing at it and let you figure out the rest. the main thing you forgot to mention was how many controllers you have. for the OS part use the two 72 gig drives and run them mirriored. then for the data it depends on how you want to do it. you could…

You can do it with a script: Here is a sample script that does what they want but will need to be tweaked for APMhttp://weblogs.asp.net/mikedopp/archive/2008/06/18/how-to-check-certificate-expirations-on-iis-with-custom-script.aspx

bump...anyone?

I followed these steps and got it to work. https://www.infrasightlabs.com/setting-wmi-access-ad-gpo/ You can either do it via the AD by using GPO or on each server individually.

Try formatting this way with the last trigger indented. Trigger alert when all of the following apply Component Name is ... Component Status is ... Trigger alert when all the following apply Component Name is ... Component Status is ...

I use them a lot. They usually get created by someone asking "Can I get a dashboard of...?" Examples. Internet summary - shows metrics on both of our links and their routers WAN Summary - Every link, one view. Weather - self explanatory. Availability all locations Main Call Centers - Shows the routers, performance metrics,…

I've checked the case, and it's going through the usual support process, and if Support is having trouble with it, it will definitely get to Josh.

Hi Todd, I couldn't find a very good document that describes what SQL Auditor does or how it works, so here goes. SQL Auditor uses the MSSQL Profiler with trace files that look for specific types of activity. In order to avoid having any visibility into credit card, patient, or other potential personal information that…

You can get rid of the Edit by removing admin rights from the users. Set "Allow Account to Customize Views" to No. That won't get rid of Help, however. Also, I recommend making your changes in ASP.Net. As of 2009, we will drop all support for ASP.

This is a bug. We've now got it in our system. We'll see about fixing it for the next release.

Looks like I am getting the same thing and no answers from anyone. Does anyone know why it's doing this? Example: MONTHMEMBER NAMEGROUP_MEMBER_AVAILABILITYCURRENT MEMBER STATUSAn Important Application99.00 % January 2012SubApplication Name1100Up January 2012SubApplication Name2100Up January 2012SubApplication Name3100Up…

dwsmithjr, This is a know issue within SW. There is cause by proprietary algorithms probing packet. If you match the AM from the switch and in SW they match. example -2.7am just disable it in SW and should be fine.

I got it figured out. I removed the IP SLA config in the router and replaced it but without the "owner" line. This allowed the IP SLA to be discovered.

We see the same problem. We have several Novell servers and seeing the discrepancy in the SPACE USED (on VOL1) between Orion and Novell's Insight Manager tool. The SYS volume seems to track the same with what Insight Manager sees. We are running Novell NetWare 5.00.10 . Orion says.... VOLUME SIZE SPACE USED SHAMAIL/SYS:…

problem here is that you only have 4Gig of memory. Windows is a hog and takes about 2Gig to run and SQL is a hog and takes a minimum of 2Gig to run also. if you want better performance and to see this issue go away step up to 16Gig of memory. then Windows will spread out to roughly 2.x Gig and SQL will spread out some more…

Malcolm, Are these by chance Universal groups? Do they cross multiple domains, or just a single domain?
