+1 Million Please keep up posted. I didn't see any progress in the "What we are working on" section.

I hate this error. You can try clearing the cached flash object in this thing: Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage ... and your browser cache. Sometimes it's as simple as restarting your browser and/or shift+refreshing. It's some kind of cached object that differs from the one that is on the server.

Bump

Good suggestion.

You should set your thresholds based on your environment. If you get alerts, yet you have no problems, but them up.

lchance, good luck getting this to work. I have been trying to get this to work (external program) for months - to no avail. I have tried all tips/tricks posted on Thwack... I have been working with senior support folks who said that this is being looked at by development and I am waiting on the edge of my seat for a…
-
Alex, Did you ever get any information on this. I am having the same issue.

I wish I had an answer for you, but unfortunately I'm just trying to figure out how to interact with the SW API using JavaScript myself. Quick question, maybe you know the answer: If I have to include username and password info in my ajax request, would I put it in the data field? data{ "username":"Bob",…

I have not been able to find a way to force settings in those fields, only whether they are required/editable or not. However, I have done some mass cleanup of Client information in the past by searching for them all in Client View, then exporting them all to Excel. In Excel, you can edit the phone number field, add the…

If you want to tell when someone opened a file vs. a folder with FIM, you can change whether to look for an extension or not (i.e. *.* vs. just *). Or, you can audit the files you're interested in directly and not the parent directory with a mask. Or, if you explicitly want to know about the directory, you can configure…

still would like funtionality back in Orion but i did find a work around. Using MIB-Walk i was able to find the section on each server that lists current processes running. hope this is not going to be the only way to do this due to it taking 3-5 minutes to do each mib-walk and then hand jamming the exe's into the APM.

I would like to understand how to do this as well.

It's up! Refer to this KB to apply it: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to apply a LEM connector update package You'll want to delete any configured SDEE connectors you might have before trying again (i.e. you can't just edit one, it has to be a NEW one after applying the update).
-
We're working on a change to the connector (which will be uploaded to the portal) that will enable this - it's something we can do, just not exposed. Portal updates usually hit once a week (or every other week if there aren't any changes) and I'll reply here when it's up.

Issue now resolved. After more Googling I found a post about the database filenames and if they don't end with .mdf and .ldf it can cause this issue. All working and the upgrade goes on!
-
Works great for us. Did have an issue when upgrading to 9.1.... had to upgrade version of License Manager in order for it to actually release the license...but once that was done, It works. Also, you might want to look at your content filtering to WWW on your firewall (if applicable). At one point, licensing was blocked by…

The indication is that Orion will support custom MIB tables in the next release, which may help a little (although I'm not sure exactly how Orion will present or alert on a MIB table). Custom MIB Get Table support is critical to the next release, so that's not a maybe. We will allow you to alert on data in tables. Another…

No, you are correct, they installed a copy on each vessel to monitor the equipment. Not much equipment, router, few switches, servers, NetApp. I have set Solarwinds up in the middle east and montored site in Iraq, Turkey and London with a lot more hardware but I did have more bandwidth. I am just looking for the best…
-
Thanks for the information, I am asking as I may be moving to a new position and will have to take this over. I have found out they installed Solarwind NPM at each location but I want to be able to see the key information back at the central site. There is no limit on the bandwidth be our main data center and the VSAT…

Good request.

Have you applied all the Hotfixes? There's a problem with adding devices using SNMP v1 using Add a Node. Discovery uses different code so it works. The Hotfix 3 remedies this problem.
-
I've complained several times about this. Solarwinds doesn't work properly with the MIBs that the Dell switches use. If you use more than one vlan (who doesn't these days) you're out of luck.
-
Hey jlim13, As CourtesyIT says, because of the holidays, points and badges will be awarded during the first week of January.
-
Upgrade NPM first. In fact, we'll be shipping APM 2.0 soon, so you could just wait and migrate from AM to APM 2.0.
-
An audit Trail is an existing Feature Request but you can refer to the IIS logs and this may help you narrow down who the culprit is. IIS Logs will store the username and IP address of the login, for example: 2011-3-08 18:17:01 W3SVC3 10.160.5.226 GET /Orion/Report.aspx…

You should be able to do this in 9.0.

With well over 4000 elements monitored and having been up for well over a year our DB is currently about 11GB. We use a IBM X346 with dual 2.8Ghz Xeons and 2.5GB of memory. The SQL server is on a seperate IBM X346 that is a shared resource running on a similar chassis with 4GB of memory. Neither box has ever shown any sign…

Yeah, I saw the same thing recently, and like you I was hoping I would see the maps for each Orion - no such luck. It will be interesting to hear SW's response.
-
basically it is the virtual adapter being lost. you are seeing this after the system reboots probably if it does not re-attach with the same interface ID in NPM then it orphans the interface I use to see this alot with WAN MINIPORT adapters on my windows devices ended up just not monitoring them and only getting the…
