OK, I fixed my problem by creating my own SQL solution. As was pointed out: Orion Alerts are unable to trigger based "volume -> has changed". I'm no SQL whiz so I am sure you could generate a query from the Volume_Details table, but I went for an easy fix. In the "Volumes" table, I created 2 new columns:…

So, even though I can set up a conditional with "Has Changed" (Not "Last Changed" as you stated in your post) as an option for "Percent Volume Available" That particular query doesn't actually work? Is there any way for me to get a trigger to occur when the volume amount changes? Ideally I would like to set it up so that…

I like the new look for the node details, particularly the F5 stuff with the VS, pools, and such. Did this upgrade change anything regarding how NCM backs up the F5 boxes?

I have walked the MIB while the application is in an unknown state an it works consistantly although I may script this to run periodically to prove the point. I have tried BulkRow and this didn't improve things I'm assuming BulkColumn will produce similar results although I'm happy to try if it helps...

I thought the Area/Line/Bar chart issue was fixed as well. Can you gather diagnostics and send them in with a support ticket. Have you seen this problem on any non-table device pollers?
-
Update to issue .. applied XP Service Pack 2 which updated the MSVCRT.DLL. Issue seems to now be resolved.
-
Anyone know if there is a master clean uninstall guide. This issue is only affecting 1 server (the one I need it on) if I install it on another one it is fine.

Hey everyone, I've done some more research with my friend from Microsoft regarding SQL licensing for SQL Standard edition specifically. There are 4 types of licenses I have seen for sale on SQL licensing websites. SQL CPU Core SQL Server SQL Device SQL User 1. Processor Licensing Model A license is required for each…

Some IOS is just broke in that respect. I have the same issue on some 7206VXR's

Update: If I add the node to the map with all interfaces and any interfaces are down object is seen as up. If I add the interface as well as node to map then linked maps show object in a non-green state. I have a node that is up but one of the interfaces are down. I would like to be alerted from main Map if anything linked…

I would take kmmorey's advice...disable multicast. If you have a lot of multicast enabled nodes then the easiest way is to delete all the multicast pollers directly from the database (you'll have to disable a stored procedure too). Ref Case 496889 when you call support. Multicast is definitely not ready for prime time!

You'll have to use the Reports app, per this article. No nDepth results older than a month - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

I don't think there's a max as long as you were logging that far back. A great LEM tech taught me how to go into nDepth and click Event Groups in the 2nd column of the screen, then click on the Any Alert Event Grop, then below that you'll see the Events/Fields that are common to all groups. Usually you will want to click…

Do I need to install SAM in my NPM server in order to pull Hardware Health Monitoring?

Currently the "Alert me when a new MAC address appears on network" report only gives you the date/time and MAC address. Then I have to copy/paste the MAC into the search. This leaves a lot of room for improvement. I want an alert that tells me what I need to know instead of an alert that tells me to manually to go a web…

I will try this soon. thanks Shawn_b

I've looked at it, but honestly, I don't know if that would help. We already do a scheduled config check every hour, we really don't need to know any sooner than that if something changes. What I really want to be able to do, is look at my latest config, and be able to compare that back against all of my other configs in…

Have you considered configuring Cirrus' Real Time Change notification ? When I was running Cirrus 3.5.1 this was working great for us. It "broke" after upgrading to Cirrus 4.0, but I am anticipating Support will solve this soon for me.

No, the v7 version won't work with v8. We are working on the v8 version. I do not yet have an ETA. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Ahhh ok, will be just utilizing one virtual box then. Appreciate it!

Thanks for the insight. Our usual policy is to separate app from database. Any of you running it virtual?

I have created a script trying to remove the permissions but I cannot get it to work My script is run when the user logs in and the following is ran ICACLS D:\Serv-U\%USER% /inheritance:r /grant "%USER%@Domain":(OI)(CI)F /grant "system":(OI)(CI)f /grant "Administrators":(OI)(CI)f but this only pulls the machine user name…

I've captured this feature request. It's something we want to do.
-
Have you replicated this with multiple alerts?
-
Custom properties can't be applied to templates. Can you provide more detail on what you're trying to do with the templates and the alerts? There may be alternate ways to achieve your goals.
-
NPM and the remote server should only be communicating on port 17777. The remote poller also connects to the DB directly, so you'll need to open that port as well.
-
We talk about a lot of options. But we always ask about use cases, not technology: What problem are you trying to solve?
-
NTA requires an Orion server or an Orion extra poller.
-
Do you know which OID you need? If you have that, launch the UnDP, paste in the OID, and then assign it to your device. It's pretty straightforward. And, then, export and upload your poller to Thwack here. Share with the community.
