Question 1: What polling intervals do you use to successfully complete polling? For our environment it's: Layer 2 - 10 minutes , Layer 3 - 15 minutes , Domain Controllers - 20 minutes. Question 2: How many nodes do your individual UDT pollers handle? We have 120 nodes with 2300 ports being monitored. Question 3: What…

Hi there, I see that another year has passed since the last update on this. Has there been any further progress with adding support for Hyper-V? We are rapidly deploying Hyper-V nodes throughout our infrastructure and need to make a decision soon on whether we stay with Orion or move to SCOM. Thanks George

Try this report and see if it serves your purpose. Adam

You also can't re-install Hotfix 2

Can you share the report please?

We are also having problems with Advanced Group Alerts not e-mailing after upgrading to 10.3 from 10.2.2. We have an open ticket with Solarwinds, but after asking us to do a repair, they are asking us to do illogical things. First response from a tech guy there said he has seen "some errors regarding email notifications…

Hi We also use HyperV on a huge scale ( 18 HyperV hosts with 22 guests on each) ive been waiting over a year now for NPM and APM to work properly with HyperV (NPM doesn't register RAM in HyperV hosts properly, bug reported last year) but i have seen no improvements. My maintenance is due up early next year, if i don't see…

Hi All, I've found its good to go direct, you can negotiate the discounts much easier without a "piggy in the middle". If you go through the reseller there is no advantage and you have to wait for them to approve the discount already approved by the Solarwinds sales people. I didn't know about the SWAG! what can you get? I…

I'll open this as a bug.

Generally, you can't install the agent on these platforms - not really our restriction, but you can't actually access it like a normal windows system. The remote installer uses admin shares to push to the system, which are often disabled. The local installer needs to run interactively and be able to install and run as a…

I have a similar issue but on chrome - windows - 12.6 Chrome Version 72.0.3626.109 Windows 10 WHD 12.6 Every time I click "add file" it downloads an empty file straight away

This is a bug. We are planning to address it in the next release.

You idea about a supression rule is your best bet provided your "fragile" systems are all behind at least one common device, i.e Router or Switch. Looking to see if an upstream device is very effective. The supression of alert would be to alert on only that device and mark the devices underneath it as unreachable rather…

I am throwing my vote in. I will need this very soon.

Will, Please open a Support ticket. Your problems suggest that the upgrade broke for you. We need to help you fix it ASAP. You really haven't got 9.1 fully installed and configured.

My guess: if the system believes you're scheduling a search that runs on some regular timeframe (like, daily) and you schedule it for a time that's past on that day, it's going to run it NOW for today (since it believes it missed your schedule), then on your schedule.

I called solarwinds and they told me that there is no way to edit the basic search fields. Best thing you can do is put in a feature request like I did. For now, just use advanced search.

Anyone? /Kenneth

Have you tried the Current Status of Nodes report? It's possible to add volume info to that report.

If the box is using net-snmp, that's what NPM is going to see it as.

I have the same problem. I can us MS SQL studio to connect to the database and find the credentials using this query select nodes.NodeID, nodes.Caption, nodesettings.SettingName, NodeSettings.SettingValue, Credential.Name from Nodes join NodeSettings on nodes.NodeID = Nodesettings.NodeID join Credential on…

thanks for all the advice... understanding that the traffic is all one direction helps a lot actually, thank you I have managed to get the system talking to the customer WSUS server... like you aid, all the work is configured on the PAS but then you go onto the remote AS to actually browse and what not the next issue is, i…

Hi mahzad, A good place to start is the Log & Event Manager (LEM) - Updated November 18, 2015Library and Support page. You'll find here plenty of information, documentation, and even tutorials.

thanks all of you dor responding but the issue is solved

I had this across hundreds of servers. When someone replaces/removes/deletes a volume SW still holds on to it. The information therefore is inaccurate. I am wondering if there is a way to run a drop against the db and remove the resources and automatically check the new resources with a filter.

I'm not sure what you mean by "mulitple templates using the same monitor". Do you want to assign the same script to multiple servers? If so, a single template would be the thing to do. That template would apply to several servers. You'd only need to paste it once. I suspect I'm missing something crucial here, though.

There's a default rule for this, look for "Windows Event Log Cleared". It has exactly the logic that posted above.

Okay so here is my proposal to my current customer... based upon Solarwinds marketing... sorry PHPIPAM... Automated IP address tracking Automated subnet discovery and IP address scanning search your network so you know how IPs are used. Just enter the supernet and all the IP addresses will be discovered. No lengthy manual…
