Yes, monitoring policies is something we intend to implement.
-
That's because the configuration is automatically done by the VoIP module itself. You just need to make choices in the settings: www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm

Is it possible to split the web away from the same server that NPM is installed on or would we have to purchase an additional web server license ? This isn't possible. you have to purchase the additional web server license.

We definitely have users successfully running NPM through NAT. We expect the polling engine to show the real IP address, not the NAT address, but it should work if the right ports are open. What's communication is failing? If you're trying to use System Manager remotely, that's not going to work, NAT or no NAT. System…

There isn't enough information here to answer that question. Is it just one alert that didn't work? What was the alert?
-
I might be reading your question incorrectly, but, does the log file append new entries to the end or the beginning of the file? If so, you can keep a count of total lines and store that total in an easily accessible file. Every time the SAM component runs, have it read the number of lines in from the stored file and…

supression is a tricky thing to get the desired result from so not sure if this is still an active issue with you but here is another way to skin the cat. in the trigger where you are looking or the 40% packet loss just add another simple condition Node.Status is equal to UP Supression tab entries are notorious for not…

Thanks for your answer. I did some testing and it looks like perfmon on a Windows Server 2008 R2 has a problem connecting to a server running Windwos Server 2008 x86. My Solarwinds server is running aon Windows Server 2008 R2, my terminal Servers are running on Windows Server 2008 x86. When I try connecting Perfmon between…

There is a hidden command you can run on most ASAs: show snmp-server oidlist You have to type it in manually but it will show you all your OID #s. If you type a "?" after "snmp-server" it won't show you that oidlist is available (because its a hidden command). You can pipe it though. "Show snmp-server oidlist | i serial"

It might be that there aren't enough messages yet for the scan for new nodes to pick it up. You can always configure a connector manually from Manage > Appliances > Gear on the left > Connectors. There's a Cisco IOS connector there that you can add manually (Gear > New), the logging paths match up with the local facility…

Would this template help?

Hi, I'd firstly like to say thanks for another great product from Solarwinds. I've just installed it with no problems. It ran fine, no problems. Here's what I love... Seeing netflow data within NPM interface details (Interfaces that are recieving netflow data only!) Having the multi port application configuration The…

I've had the same issue... I used a network cloud in my map maker and it's getting pushed out to the website as a common circle/dot.

Any update??? Also, need to update to support CM 9.x and 10.x if possible please.

I loved flash and shockwave, some great websites were created using this technology, end of an era...

klc2009 - Have you received ANY info on this post....from last year? I have been fighting with this off and on for awhile and could never find the correlation of not being able to receive the descriptive ConditionDesc. Please let me know if you have figured this out.

Haven't tried it with SolarWinds HTML alerts, but you can embed images in HTML using Base64 encoding. I embed social media icons in signatures email this way. Make sure you do not include them in plain text messages such as those going to mobile phones via text. There is a binary named 'base64' on Linux that will do it on…

Thanks aLTeReGoI It works fine.

I don't think this is a known bug. Can you open a ticket and refer to this post?
-
Something to check here is your Polls Per Second Tuning: set to slightly higher than the recommended values. If this persists I'd suggest logging a ticket with Support.
-
Interesting suggestion. I haven't heard it before. I'll add it to the queue.
-
what kind of firewall? checkpoint?
-
I don't follow you. What are you trying to do?
-
Can you give us more detail on what's not responding? It is polling? Is it the web console? If the latter, which pages?
-
Well, in APM 3.0, there is an alert variable that will tell you the current status of each component in an application. Can you be more specific about "why an application went down"?
-
Thanks for your response. Could you expain what you mean by 'ramp up security via IIS'quote:Originally posted by Mithrilhall I believe you can ramp up security via IIS.

* definitely any firewall egress filter/outbound traffic to a "bad IP" * any other mechanisms you have to detect internal communication sources to a "bad IP" - router ACLs, IDS, local firewalls, authentication traffic, etc * excessive traffic from a number of "bad IPs" might be a more targeted attack (or denial of service)…

Countries that use the date format DD/MM should be celebrating Pi day in July..... On the 22nd Less accurate, maybe, but more appropriate?

Hey JP I get exactly the same so I guess this may be a general problem. I am running v9.0 SP2 and when you try to create the account if fails indicating that you should enter a password. Hopefully someone from Solarwinds might be able to confirm whether this is a known problem. Regards Mark
