Yikes! I did a quick search and it looks like this isn't a standard SVN user or anything. My guess is that your SVN server is set to authenticate against active directory (either using SVBuild or another account) and other accounts (or SVBuild) are constantly authenticating for access to what SVN hosts. You might look at…

Sounds like Active Discovery with a twist that removes old non-existent interfaces. Active discovery new devices/interfaces on user-configurable timed interval. I could go for that.

I agree, we have over 2000 servers, mainly DELL but some HP and Fujitsu in the mix. I would love to see better vendor integration including storage arrays (namely EMC, HP & NetApp) as I feel we are only getting half the picture.

I found the answer while on the phone with Solarwinds' tech support Since I have Cirrus on the same server as our Orion system, I decided to turn off monitoring. I didn't realize that would also turn of rediscovery. I turned on Monitoring, and everything was rediscovered.
-
You can't assign custom properties to applications; however, in APM, you can assign a group of monitors to servers as a unit (called a template) and create alerts based on those that application templates.
-
You can use the Universal Device Poller to do this today.

Older post, but I'm also looking for a way to input multiple IP ranges at once. Any ideas?

The way the checkpoint integration works is by connecting to the management station corresponding to your single/multiple firewalls, and gathering the centralized logs from there. It's done securely using checkpoint's log API (OPSEC LEA), which means we have to have a certificate and be a valid object in checkpoint's…

Hi roballen, I just figured that out myself but now I understand why. Thanks for the reply!

In the next version, there's going to be a feature that allows you to "unmanage" an application.

Adding web-based administration is a top priority. It will take a couple of smaller releases because we need to make some back-end changes to make this possible. But it's coming... Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Disk full would be my guess as well. It doesn't like that at all.
-
I did have a problem with this (8000+ elements on one server) but it all but went away after running the polls per second tuning utility. Doug

This feature was added in 8.5. You can find the how-to steps in the Admin Guide: www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm

Hi wluther as mentioned. below is the code that i would like to use but it is not pulling in the data. SELECT T1.NodeID, T1.Caption, n.n_site, n.Vendor, n.Description, COUNT (*) AS "Total Ports", SUM (IsUp) AS "Used Ports", SUM (IsDown) AS "Available Ports", CAST (ROUND ((1.0 * SUM (IsDown)/COUNT (*)) *100, 0) as float)…

It seems Solarwinds has limited reporting on Cisco wireless from what I can tell. I have Cisco Meraki MR24 APs and all I can view is the connected interface and not much else. I use the web tools for any sort of wireless usage monitoring. Good luck!

Hi, Not sure if you still require this (I know it's been 5yrs) but may help other users as I came across this post looking for the same thing. Anyway, I worked out how to do this via a custom table. I am reporting on all nodes (no further criteria). Now edit your table layout. - Add Node Name (Nodes > Node Name). - Add…

nDepth has limitations for data older than a month also, per this article: No nDepth results older than a month - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

This was where I had a hard time also! A great LEM tech taught me how to go into nDepth and click Event Groups in the 2nd column of the screen, then click on the Any Alert Event Grop, then below that you'll see the Events/Fields that are common to all groups. Usually you will want to click and drag the "DetectionIP" event…

I'm also new to LEM but I'm starting to find may around nDepth pretty good now for ad hoc reports. I can't give you specifics because we don't have an ASA, but I can give you a start in finding what you need. In the upper left hand corner of nDepth move to slider to the A, which is text mode. In the search line enter the…

How about this.. A place to put notes on a node.. a interface.. an application service a whatever. Not all objects need comments.. but there are always those one offs that would benefit from having special instructions.. support contact info.. notes? just a thought :)

unfortunately the only feature i would like to see in APM in the next release, is for the ability to be able to select if you to collect any performance stats or not on a process, of if you ONLY want to know if a process is running one or more times... if i can not get this feature, then APM is unfortunately going to need…

I think you can do what you want using custom properties.

OK - I manged to import our IP address design into IPAM. Unfortunately none of the subnets are populated with IP addresses so the system won't scan to go out and see what is out there (actually it is scanning - one subnet has been under scan for 135 minutes! ... but that's another story). Anyway since there are no IP…

Hi vicky.yeung, Have you checked this page already: SolarWinds Contact Us ?

bump...anyone able to help with a query? I can't get one to work.
-
What does you management think of using the Percentage Utilization instead? Solves the issue and gives better perspective on usage.
-
Its very strange that you are not able to search for subnets directly. I think it's very broken not to have that functionality, getting pages on pages of single IP addresses is just frustrating. Could it be that hard to implement? Just another search field option in the search function. big love to SW if they fix this asap
