I'm afraid we don't have an ETA just yet, but improvements to Wireless Monitor are on our roadmap.

only thing that might possibly fit this is that the switch is busy when you ran the scan and it discarded the SNMP request due to it having higher priority tasks to accomplish. This would only apply if the switches that are not responding are really busy.

Do you see anything in the agent.log/spoplog.txt when this problem occurs? I'm wondering if it's running out of memory, which would definitely log an error in the log.

What you probably want is: <whatever events you want>.DetectionIP = <connector profile> e.g.: Any Alert.DetectionIP = <connector profile> That way you're specifying 'show me any event that was detected on one of the systems in this connector profile." The actual list within a connector profile is node names/IPs, not…

<<NOTE: the Custom MIB Poller does not support MIB importing! This is something I have discussed with SW support at length. Although the MIB databse provided by Orion provides several periodic updates, their importer tool does not work. This is supposed to be addresed in the upcoming revision.>> Yeah, I've noticed that…

Ahh, My thanks. Brian

I would suggest multiple templates, with a given template for a given type of server. Templates don't nest in v1.

4.0.2 is different to 4.2 - APM 4.2.0 is the latest version, and has a lot of new features over 4.0.2 - http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/apm/docs/ReleaseNotes/releaseNotes.htm NPM is currently on 10.1.3 so you're a minor revision behind there as well…

APM 1.0 is the only version available. You should install SP4. You might be getting alerts based on temporary conditions. You can set your alerts to only trigger if the condition remains true for XX minutes, which will suppress transient events.

Mine is like that as well. The physical and the Data link are unchecked.. To get the Hardware sensors to work on a Dell, first download the Dell Open Management software, Then go to SNMP services on the server,, Set the security up. Then make sure you select SNMP instead of WMI as the polling method. Should be good to go.…

If you click on Interface, you will drill down to the NetFlow Interface Details page which will show you a breakdown by app, by protocol, by endpoint, etc.

A fourth option may be similar to #3 up above. Sorry to answer myself; I'm still just mulling this over as I get used to alerting capabilities! 4. Keep any component and application alerts I already have, and make a new alert for each item I want additional remediation steps for. For instance if ComponentA goes down, a…

(ie7 and XP - ie7 and vista ie6 and windows 2000) Could you explain this a bit more? We'd like to try to reproduce, and I can't quite parse what you've got here.

You will need to do this type of export from SQL Management Studio. The web interface has memory limits, it's a known issue.

Just stumbled across this thread and am very pleased with the solution posted to use a custom html resource to redirect, works a charm. Just worth noting to get it right first time as editing the resource is not easy once configured.

Is there anything in particular that you'd like to do with v7 or v9?
-
Seems to me that one should be, if not in fact already able to populate this field from any given alert definition (created via the typical alert creation process). Unfortunately I'm still trying to get this figured out myself. -Scott

1. There is not a way to add your own line to the graph. 2. It is not possible to combine the results of multiple pollers into a single graph. This is something that been requested a lot from a lot of people. We have the request in our tracking system. 3. This sounds like a bug. I'd open a support ticket on this one.…

Yes, you can do this with the HTTP monitor, even if they're external.

Hi, We are an Avaya shop and would like to participate in your trial. Thanks Edward

Windows mapped drives are not connected when the user is logged out, so if you are writing to a drive letter it would not work. You might be able to try UNC pathing \\{servername}\{sharename}\, not sure if the alert tool allows it though. Either way you will probably need to make sure that the permissions on the share…

SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Applying a LEM Connector Update Package is where you can download the latest. Data Sources - Log Management & Log Analyzer Software | SolarWinds is where you can see supported data sources, but this list is not as current as the actual connector package itself. In the package, I see:…
