Hi juniordev, I assume you're talking about the Popular & Recent Content on the hope page of thwack. You can see that some of the polls are created in the User Polls group, while others, depending on their content, are created in specific product forums. What you see on the home page is actually an overview of the recent…

I asked for this functionality a long time ago when the web console took over, but no joy i am afraid

Can you use the Windows native log forwarding to get your logs to a system that you can install the agent on - e.g. https://www.petri.com/configure-event-log-forwarding-windows-server-2012-r2 ? What you're asking, importing an event log, isn't something LEM has natively done, and if you can't do it frequently enough the…

Can you elaborate? I don't understand the SQL query comment. Where are you querying SQL? If this is a MIB, you can use the Universal Device Poller.

The fix got posted about a week ago: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtq86186 Short answer is upgrade the code to 15.0(2)SE

By the way you can't telnet to 161 to check access - SNMP uses UDP and the telnet command attempts to make a TCP connection. You could conceivably telnet from the router to SolarWinds on 162 to see of the trap port is open in that direction. << This (TCP/162) doesn't seem to work for SOLARWINDS as it doesn't seem to have…

NG, #1 - Yeah, you're doing it right but unfortunately, the ability to select specific interface ports on node discovery is not possible now. It sure would be nice to have this flexibility added. #2 - Manage Nodes page > Interfaces > Group By > Status. Should get you what you're looking for.

Has there been any training material released for the new alert manager? I'm just trying to get a basic temperature alert on a device and I can't figure it out. In the old system I could have done it in five minutes or less. Not to mention I had to go in and re-format all my custom alerts. It would have been really nice to…

Updating with the answer, replace whd_text.png and sw_logo.png with the images of your choice. They are located here: For windows C:\Program Files\WebHelpDesk\bin\webapps\helpdesk\headerbar Linux /usr/local/webhelpdesk/bin/webapps/helpdesk/headerbar MAC Library/WebHelpDesk/bin/webapps/helpdesk/headerbar

When you set the DB retention to 1-year, the values you see on a node details page (e.g., CPU, Memory, Disk, Response time, packet loss) will all be stored for a year.

Our current views are pretty standard, mostly because we don't have much spare time to customize them. I would really like to hear what others are doing and maybe some nifty things that we could implement that would save time and / or effort.

It's stored in SWNetPerfMon.db in the Orion subfolder of your install, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds\Orion\SWNetPerfMon.db (remove the (x86) for 32bit OS) It's a plain-text file, just open it with Wordpad. Andy.

Trigger condition is set to same as reset. Set the reset to node = down.

It is a shame you can't add forecasting functionality into a standard disk report, that way you would have the flexibility to display the metrics you want plus add a forecast section into the report too. Something for solarwinds to think about... I'm doing some forecasting in Excel at the moment because of the limitations…

I am in the same boat. Would it be possible to see an example of your template please?
-
Yes! ;-)
-
It should be in your portal. You need to open a ticket for customer service.

Just had exactly the same issue using Cirrus 3.5 and Orion 8.02. The fix posted by Mike McCartney worked a treat.

not a fix but helps out > Batches for each www4.solarwinds.net/.../topic.asp

Just got this from support If Cirrus 3.5 has been installed, this is to do with a copy of a dll file being registered in the wrong directory. File name is SWDiscoveryServices8.dll To fix this go to a DOS prompt and do the following…this will unregister it in the wrong subdirectory and re-register it in the correct…

How did you get the gif images to have transparent background? When I paste my gifs into network atlas the transparent part turns to black or white. I'm also interested in how to make the network map more accurate like an html image map coordinates. Any update?

Hi, I've got the same issue but on 3 Windows servers. All three show a peak of 32767 % with an average of 32767%, 8230% and 2570%. I've just moved to 10.3 and when I ran these reports last month didn't get this. Thanks Jase

The alert needs to be "Reset". That will depend on the conditions that were set in the definition of the advanced alert. Typically, people set the reset condition to be NOT the trigger condition. So if you trigger when a Node is DOWN. Then Reset when the Node is not DOWN or Reset when Node is UP. If you can't get it to…

Did you upgrade from Cirrus 3.5 ? I had RTCN working wonderfully in 3.5, but since upgrading to 4.0 I have not received one notification. Syslog events are logged for me as well, but the RTN log doesn't even have an entry. I created a ticket in December and received an E-mail last week saying that my ticket has gone to…

this is going to sound wierd but i think you will have to re-install NPM to be able to un-install any of the rest. APM, IP SLA, NTA all of these ride on top of NPM so you will need to un-install them prior to taking NPM off. as far as NCM is concerned if you installed it and made it interact with the NPM server then when…

In most cases, we use the industry standard MIB: www.faqs.org/.../rfc2790.html

Thanks Don!!! I'm on it.

NG...already have. Just not making much progress with SW at this point. They are working on it with us. This has been going on for several weeks now.

We're seeing 2 Application Errors on both pollers we have (v7.5). In the Application Event Log are these entries...then the NPM service restarts. Event Type: Error Event Source: Application Error Event Category: (100) Event ID: 1000 Date: 1/19/2005 Time: 3:19:39 AM User: N/A Computer: NOCPERF2 Description: Faulting…
