Which firewall? For a Cisco device, you should be able to track when policy changes are being made and look for the 'shun' command being ran. Or, shunned IPs should trigger a different block message than regular blocked traffic, and you could track that.

Complete walk of a device via SNMP and then respond with all supported OID's, in a list, so pollers can be added at the click of a button. Then remember all of them whether chosen or not It easily let's you find all possible OID's to monitor rather quickly. Other products do this, Zyrion Traverse is one of them.

Not yet, but we're thinking along those lines.
-
Did you ever get a response (or a solution to this)? This seems like a common requirement -- to validate the list of authorized usernames that are configured on Cisco routers/switches ... ensure the ones that should be there are and the ones that shouldn't area not. Thanks.
-
I don't think so. You could save your discovery database, but that won't give you everything you want.

Consider the feature officially requested.

Hi newkidd2, Thank you very much for these kind words and especially for your feedback! We are indeed working based on the community feedback and I really do believe that this is a very constructive and useful approach.

having the same issue on Cisco3850 7.7.7.73210.177.16.210InterfaceIndex #00BGP any tips? regards, Paul Liebregts

Afraid not.

According to SolarWinds support, this is because the list was entered by uploading a file. The only way to change the list is to click the Clear button, then re-upload a new file.
-
Nevermind. I figured out the solution myself.
-
Good suggestion.

sorry about the double entry. One of these could be deleted. Thanks Walt

In order to understand the problem, we will need you to run diagnostics and add it to your Support case. The Diagnostics Utility can be found in C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\SolarwindsDiagnostics.exe [assuming a default install path].

Why are you using v7.1? That version is very old and no longer supported. We are currently shipping version 8.0. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

The VLAN information available in NCM isnt very useful.

Hello, I've written the query in SQL three different ways in MS TSQL, and ran it against the Solarwinds database, and the results are as expected. When I implement the code in the manage alerts section of the SW app, the code fails to validate when it is converted to SWQL. Below's code is does a self join which won't…

Yes...if you have the custom properties already created its a piece of cake. On your Orion server, start->solarwinds network performance monitor->advanced features->account limitation builder. In there, you can add new account limitations and tie them to a custom property. Once you have the limitations created here, you'll…
-
Yep. That sounds cool, and we're hoping to make resources drag-and-droppable in a future release.

This is not a supported configuration. What's the problem you're trying to solve with a separate database?

I think this is a Serv-U bug. A potential workaround is, to add your server fqdn to the list of websites to be run in browser compatibility mode. A similar bug was resolved in 11.1.0.3 for FireFox browsers: "Corrected a download bug with Firefox 8.0; Firefox would present end-users with a random file name instead of the…

The problem is probably with the use of "none". What are you trying to accomplish with that clause? If you want to alert for any server except Server 1 or Server 2, then change it to Trigger Alert when all of the following apply: node name is not equal to server1 node name is not equal to server2
-
Got it. I'll enter this as a bug.
-
Are these Advanced or Basic Alerts?

Check this link: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/WebConsoleReportingGuide.pdf it should help!

usually run into this when Network engineers are trying to force routing over certain links and they use bandwidth statements in the configs instead of just adding a cost multiplier to the route. I guess in some cases it might be faster but usually leads to more issues later when the network grows.

After upgrading NCM to the current version 8.0 it automatically installed "SolarWinds SCP Server" 1.3.0.30 (note: not SFTP server) and "SolarWinds TFTP Server" 11.0.4.0 The versioning seems to vary depending on the source.
-
I am confused why the version of the free SFTP download isn't synchronously maintained with the ETS. Can someone explain? https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/ets/content/release_notes/ETS_11-0-7_release_notes.htm Engineer's Toolset 11.0.7 Release Notes Updated December 4, 2018 These release notes…

It's on the roadmap, but it won't be in Orion 9.

As an aside; here's the screenshot of the error:
