This looks to be caused by insufficient resources... I need more memory, and CPU's. Upgrading to 12 gig of memory helped a lot.

I'm interested in this also, as I know there's a feature request for dynamic approvals (or approvals through the tech portal) that should help significantly. What I did was setup an action rule & approval for each dept. with criteria that include whatever ticket types require approvals. Still doesn't work all the way…

Just wanted to bump it to see if anyone has any answers, it has been a while.
-
If anyone said that it would definitely work, they misspoke. It may or may not work. It's not something we officially support, so we've never tried it in-house. You are the first request for this feature. If we begin to see more demand, I'll consider adding it, at which point we'll make sure it works.

11.5.2 hasn't been giving us many issues except one. We have an alert for downed nodes and it is set to send another email every 90 minutes until acknowledged yet when we go in and acknowledge the alert it continues to send. We have verified multiple times that it is not a new alert and it is just the same one firing off.…

Hi Jiri, Thank you kindly for your help.
-
this would be a nice fix to implement. Have been wanting this for a long time.
-
Don, Have you opened a ticket? Denny

APM 1.0 can't do this, but APM 2.0 will be able to do what you're looking for. APM 2.0 should ship in the second half of this year.
-
The request has been noted. Thanks!

We are having some serious slow down in multicasting. What is is the best way to monitor this using NPM or Netflow. Thanks If you create an Advanced Alert trigger against the Interface type of property you should have access to the TX/RX packets/sec counter for Multicast traffic (field is under Interfaces -> Current…

In any Service desk app one need the ability to provide read-only roles, eg for reporting, auditors, and some levels of senior management who aren't techs but want a better view.

Yeah, I'd sure like clarification on this too. This is not good. Our settings are not default either. I've been under the assumption that the data retention settings were stored in the db and used by the HS server. Brian, thanks for bringing this to light!
-
Take a look at this thread: Basically, do a small tweak on your registry and all should be well.
-
Bryan - Thanks for the information. This will give me a start but with 100+ links it is going to take a while to complie all the trends. One of the programmers here was thinking about pulling information straight from the database and see if we could create a customized report. Network Engineer Mueller Industries Memphis,…

Hey , posted your problem also in and I put up some thoughts there. Check it out.

TACACS integration is on the roadmap, but to be as forthcoming as possible, it's not scheduled for the next release.

When you buy any SolarWinds product, it comes with a year of mainteance. After that there is a fee to continue maintenance. All customers with current maintenance get Support, all bug fixes, and all minor and major upgrades to the product. So, if you have current mainteance, then v9 is already available in your customer…

FYI: I got the same error this morning, first and only time! hmmm coincidence?

Hmm, alas no, not exactly. The LEM archive of the normalized data will basically replicate any data that isn't already on the archive store, and it'll grow forever (more or less, as long as it can push that archive data off). But, it's a mirror/copy, not a move and delete sort of operation. If you used that model, you…

You can sent that poller up as a "Counter" under the "Show Advanced Options" section when creating the poller. That will calculate the difference between two polls. If you want to get the per minute part, you have a couple options... The first is update your node polling interval to 1 minutes stats, but I wouldn't…

This SWQL shows all alerts SELECT AlertDefID, Name, Description, Enabled, StartTime, EndTime, DOW, TriggerQuery, TriggerQueryDesign, ResetQuery, ResetQueryDesign, SuppressionQuery, SuppressionQueryDesign, TriggerSustained, ResetSustained, LastExecuteTime, ExecuteInterval, BlockUntil, ResponseTime, LastErrorTime, LastError,…

Cam, 1. Today, we do this through the advanced alert engine; however, we recently acquired Neon and their LANsurveyor product. That tool does an impressive mapping of network topology and relationships. We plan to integrate their discovery into Orion in the near future. 2. Regarding the ability to "unmanage" a node. We…

Universal Device Pollers are used for statistics, not status. There's no way to do what you're looking for with NPM. In APM, you could, if you happen to own that, too.

Yes, check out the Database Maintenance Report. Also, this KB: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How many days of live data will the LEM database store?

I've setup a view to view wpm transaction events and when i specify some of the wpm transactions via a view limitation it works and others it doesn't. I created all of the wpm transactions so i'm not sure why there is a permission/restriction issue here? I have not set any permissions specific to these wpm transactions and…

*bump* anyone can offer a clue?

Can any one help me on this?

Hey, just wanted to let you know we did receive your feedback and appreciate the comments. We're in the process of making and have already made some changes to our upcoming release process to address some of these concerns. We want to make it clear that we're not abandoning hardware customers, and that their continued…

I would also like to see this looked at. We do not share computers but security is extremely important where I work. Tracking the users using Solarwinds is a function I would like to see as well. What user unmanaged a device, changed a snmp string, etc. Currently, Orion does not keep track of changes and, with a login…
