In 9.0 and 9.1, when you add a node from the web console, you can set custom properties in the same wizard. You can also assign universal device pollers from within the same wizard. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying about alerts. If you create your alerts in the advanced alert engine around custom properties,…

You could do this from the Syslog server that forwards the messages to NCM, IE Kiwi. You could create a custom script for the forwarding with a delay. Outside of that, NCM has some delay implemented already (I don't know what the value is) but I have never ran into a situation where it didn't actually detect a change.…

I am experiencing this too, on the second step of one of the transactions. Orion Platform 2016.1.5300, WPM 2.2.1, IPAM 4.3.2, DPA 10.0.1, QoE 2.1.0, IVIM 2.1.2, SAM 6.2.4 Time: 08/15/2016 14:19:03.4789 Server: Microsoft-IIS/8.5 Pipeline: Integrated User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML,…

Can you upload of a screenshot? I have implemented many custom properties on Nodes, Interfaces and Volumes. But I don't remember seeing that prefix under manage nodes.

First guess would be that your SNMP security settings are not allowing the third poller. ICMP will still work, so it won't show the device as down, but with SNMP unavailable, all interfaces and statistics stop. I would move it to the bad poller and run the snmp credential test. The only caveat would be if NPM always runs…

Alas no, not in this view. We've talked about adding a table-like view but right now it's just the full results. Two things you could do: * Export to CSV and mess around with the data directly * The Monitor view DOES have sorting and proper columns but only shows real-time data You can collapse down the refine fields on…

If Cisco publishes the data you want to see in a MIB, you should be able to pull the info using Orion NPM´s Universal Device Poller.

I added an idea as requested. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1322

I found what I was trying to do. When using the HTML resource, I assumed anything entered into that resource had to be in HTML code. i didn't realize until I tried it that I could add this resource and then enter in the information I'd like to present.

In System Manager, go to HBelp and it will give you the number of monitored devices and elements. In the web interface, go to the Admin screen. In the Details Area, go to License Details.

thanks for the link. i dont have any monitoring in place at the moment. how is this configured on SAM?

You can try using "importcert" in the CMC to import the root CA cert as well - it needs to be a PEM formatted cert for sure. I'm tracking down further instructions and/or a KB to see if there's more. (Access the CMC from the LEM virtual appliance console, or via SSH on port 32022)

Hi I have the same issue at the moment, I have two devices in a down state and interfaces in unknown state , but NPM states they are UP, I have down a rediscovery and NPM comes back and states the node is down. Running NPM 10.1.2 Kind Regards James

Using the IP Address search is awesome if you want to search for that address in one of the IP fields (Source Machine, Destination Machine, Detection IP, Insertion IP, a couple of other related fields). This should be the majority of where you see IP address values. You'll probably have to do a simple search first, then…

It doesn't appear that this is fixed in the most recent SWQL Studio. The results from the studio are misleading using V3. This really ought to have a bug ticket.

To merge, select both tickets in the index (ticket list), scroll to the bottom, and you should see a merge icon on the bottom left. HTH

So, just want to make sure I have it right - * You're trying to access your original SIM appliance, which was working fine yesterday (or are you accessing the new LEM system that you are migrating to?) * You can connect to the web console (or are you using desktop/AIR/installed console?) * When you type in your credentials…

1) Are you using Firefox or IE? With Firefox you have to go to the about:config url and add your http://servername to the network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris If configured properly, it shouldn't pop up anything, it should just log you in directly to the home page. With pass-through authentication, I'm not sure if it's…

In my enironment we manage all software using SCCM. I will not be deploying this software all over the network - Max 5.

Well your trigger looks for Nodes that are equal to server 'and' Public Safety 'and' Dev/Test 'and' Unmanaged 'and' Down. 'Or' is the way to go, unless you want your trigger to only fire when all of the 'AND' statements are fulfilled. I would probably try a bit of 'AND' and a bit of 'OR'. "server 'OR' Public Safety 'OR'…

-Firstly I want to know if it's possible or a good idea, to isntall my operating sytème on a VMware ESX Server and install Orion NPM on it. Yes, the server is fine. Don't install the SQL database on VMware, however. It runs too slowly. -Does a machine need to have two or several network card to be installed Orion NPM,…

Heiko, I don't think we have any SAP connectors. If there's an audit log that would be helpful to track, we can put in a new request.

Hi stanza, If you want your thwack account to be deleted, I can do it for you. But before I do that, would you mind telling me why and if there is anything we can do to help you? Kind regards, Maria

I'm sorry. I'm not sure what you're asking.

I just changed the default interface statistics polling interval to 1 minute from 9 minutes to get more granular reports. I noticed that it only works for interfaces I have added after I made the change or interfaces that I remove and re-add. Hope this helps.
