I would think the number one priority in all of the goals and objectives for Solarwinds would be to work on performance and scalability and focus on data architecture across the product lines. I believe there are multiple areas where if the data architecture were the primary focus, many other things could be possible.…

Hi Michal Can you give a specific update on a feature request for IPAM? It's mentioned in this topic already - Reverse & Forward DNS record pairing. It's something we need to deal with right now in a multi-hosting enviroment. Anything you can share? Thanks

Some suggestions: Check with Switch Port Mapper from the Engineer's Toolset: does this show correctly? User Device Tracker 1.0.1 is now available in all new evaluation and licensed downloads. Release Notes: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/udt/docs/ReleaseNotes/releaseNotes.htm If the issue persists, I'd suggest logging a…

I asked for this previously.... On error reporting, giving me an number of errors in a certain time frame is OK, but not especially helpful. I need an option to convert the number of errors into a percentage of errors based on the number of packets processed. Seing 1,000 errors is nice, but telling me that 15% of my…

Another interesting tidbit on issues with importing from CSV - I was importing a HUGE list to build the UDG for the Next-Gen Firewall webcast we did a while back and it was struggling in the web console. I was able to install and use the old fashioned AIR console and it imported much more quickly AND without problems. I'd…

Please, just please bring back #7 - I am drowning in duplicate nodes with alternate IP addresses that are ALL POLLING SNMP.

Thanks, that works for the icons in the web interface (but not the console it seems) but I still have the problem where my custom changes are over-written gradually. Is there any way to stop the changes being over-written?

quote:Originally posted by stephen98b I'm trying to get data from a temperature probe with 2 sensors. The OID for sensor 1 is 1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4.1 the OID for sensor 2 is 1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4.2. If I use SNMP GET when I test both MIBS I get the correct value- of let's say 68, but on the web site it…

Hi All. I've tried the above and it works for a few minutes but eventually reverts back to the original. Do I need to turn off whatever auto-discovery is repopulating the nodes details? Is it possible to do this without affecting notification of other changes I want to be made aware of? Thanks

I'd like to submit a couple additional feature requests: The abiliity to "search" within groups and dependencies And most importantly - AN AUDIT TRAIL IN NPM so you can see who is adding/removing/changing nodes

Interesting. The histogram is drawn from index data - basically aggregate counts that are stored separately and contribute to the left and the top panels. Result details is pulled from the actual data stored on disk. The CSV will always match result details, since those are the actual results retrieved for that time frame.…

Hi Please add better discovery filters to the next release as this has been on the cards for years. 1: Ability to filter by hostname or interface ifAlias 2: Ability to filter by interface type or vendor 3: Ability to add to a group based on a filter 4: Ability to remove hostname suffix 5: Ability to add custom properties…

quote:Originally posted by stephen98b We are using 8.0.1 shipped on 1/2/2007, the about box says Orion Version 8.0.1 - December 2006 System Manager Version 8.0.113 Engine 8.0.72 and I have also found that we still have the same problem with the Custom MIB Poller. You can view the GET response upon set up, but it will not…

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing the advanced alerts just mysteriously stop working consistently. I've contacted support about this and they said they will touch base once they have something to report. The alerting engine issues are the only thing stopping us from upgrading at this point.

This would be very useful for us, we are planning on giving our customers access to their own subnet to do modifications...

The current RSA Auth Manager connector IS expecting syslog data. I'm assuming previous customers were either using an appliance that syslogs, or syslogged from the app to a syslog server. It's pretty unlikely it'll work against flat files. We have two other connectors for RSA ACE/SecurID, but they are either via a) syslog,…

Orion 8.0.1 Advanced Alert Engine This patch will fix an issue in the Advanced Alert Engine service where in some cases the "To" address would be used as the "From" address. ftp.solarwinds.net/.../Orion8.0.1-AlertingEnginePatch.zip

I would be glad to help as I am doing this already (that might have been my original post you found). Let me know what you need.

Not yet possible, but this is coming, for sure.

Are you looking for when the AppLocker processes start? The event you're probably interested in is ProcessStart. I'm not sure what the executable name is, but something like ProcessStart.EventInfo (or ImageName) = *AppLocker.exe* If you have Event IDs you're looking for, someone here could probably point you to the LEM…

Unfortunately, there is not a way to change this behavior. If I remember correctly(and it's been a while), we changed the behavior to make it easier for folks, since in most cases, users want to add more than just CPU and memory. Your workaround(select none, then only CPU) is currently your best option. Thanks, Casey

Stick them all in a group and do a group availability section in your report for the five application monitors.
-
Please check that you are adding the "Domain Administrators" group. Note that the groups must be Security Groups...not Distribution Groups. Here is a Tech ref on using AD authentication in Orion which sould be of use: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/orion/docs/UnderstandingOrionADAuthentication.pdf

Hi ishant_walia, Welcome to thwack! A good place to start would be the Library & Support page for Patch Manager - Updated March 18, 2016

Hey Jamie, some of the formatting of those cumulative hotfix notes is a little wacky, might be some copy/paste gremlins in there.

There's no way to prevent it from running at the default time.

Whatever you create is converted to a SQL statement. There's no particular performance implications to those two options.

You'll want to update that other poller to 9.5 as well. There are a significant number of difference between 9.1 and 9.5 and there will be problems if they aren't kept in sync.

Have a look at this video [VIDEO] An Alternative to Microsoft RDP: Remote Control with DameWare and at the DameWare Admin Guide. You should be able to find some useful information in one of them.
